PUBLIC ENEMY def. RAVEN and SICK BOY With LODI

With Raven seconds from being splashed in the corner by Johnny Grunge, he grabbed Lodi and pulled The Signmaster in the way. As Raven went on offense, Saturn arrived — with a pan-to-the-cranium. Saturn followed that with a frogsplash-like dive from the top rope to a ringside table — filled with Raven. Rocco pinned Sick Boy after the Public Enemy double-team splash.

HUGH MORRUS def. EDDY GUERRERO

The Laughing Man downed The Despondent One. Morrus countered a Guerrero flying bodypress off the top rope into a powerslam. And the three-count was three seconds away. Chavo Jr., made his presence felt in the match, going postal with a right-hand to Hart’s kisser. Eddy’s offense included a dropkick to Morrus’ knees, followed by stomps to the big man’s gut. Guerrero also nailed his slingshot splash from the apron.

STEVIE RAY def. SUMO FUJI

Stevie Ray smacked the sushi out of Sumo Fuji. And he did it Harlem style attacking his diminutive opponent with a rough, street-like approach. He ultimately pinned the Japanese newcomer after a pancake piledriver.

CHRIS JERICHO def. ULTIMO DRAGON
WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match

With Jericho locked into the Dragon Sleeper, Ultimo Dragon seemed seconds away from reclaiming the Cruiserweight title when Dean Malenko charged the ring, causing the disqualification. Malenko kicked Jericho in the back, causing the DQ.

Earlier in the evening, J.J. Dillon, Chairman of the WCW Executive Committee, deemed Jericho must defend the Cruiserweight title July 12, at the Bash At The Beach, against Malenko.

“HACKSAW” JIM DUGGAN def. THE BARBARIAN

In a battle of brute force, the proud American prevailed. At the five-minute mark, The Barbarian’s longtime partner Hugh Morrus arrived on the scene. He distracted the referee and slid Duggan’s wooden board into the ring for the Tongan. But Duggan grabbed the board instead. After a kneedrop, Duggan gained the victory.

STEVE McMICHAEL and CHRIS BENOIT def. DISCO INFERNO and ALEX WRIGHT

WCW’s dancing fools showed great potential as a tag team before succumbing to the might of the former Horsemen. Wright and Benoit traded chops. Disco later slammed Benoit, then dropped a fist to Benoit’s face. Benoit, seconds later, chopped Disco down to size. Benoit eventually locked Disco in the Crippler Crossface for the victory.

The Giant and Brian Adams VS. Sting and Kevin Nash
WCW Tag Team Title Match

The Giant continues his pursuit on Sting and the World Tag Team Championship belts. The Giant challenged Sting to defend the titles, even though Kevin Nash was not in town. No problem, Sting answered. Enter Lex Luger, Sting’s longtime friend. Sting and Luger defended the gold against the NWO Hollywood crew of The Giant and Brian Adams. As the battle brewed, Luger Racked Adams and Sting flattened The Giant with The Scorpion Deathdrop, and the title defense looked secure. Until The NWO Hollywood crew came ringside and Curt Hennig and his No. 1 henchman, Rick Rude, attacked Sting. This brought Konnan came sprinting from the back to even the score. Referee Nick Patrick was all forced to DQ the main event.
