Angle Developments/Notes:
1. We are set to crown a new WWF Intercontinental Champion as Tito Santana takes on Mr. Perfect in the finals of the short tournament. Neither man gets a clear cut advantage, but Santana is able to knock Perfect off his feet with a couple of back elbows. Perfect is sent to the floor following a dropkick. Santana gets a near fall back in the ring with a slingshot clothesline back in the ring. Perfect is able to trip Santana as he runs the ropes and sends him crashing to the floor. Perfect pummels Santana but is nearly pinned by Santana with a sunset flip. Santana wraps Perfect’s left leg around the ring post a couple of times. Santana turns his focus to the injured left leg now. Bobby Heenan runs down to the ring to cheer on Mr. Perfect. Santana goes for the figure four but is rolled up by Perfect for a near fall. Santana signals for the forearm but Heenan got on the apron to distract him. Perfect counters a suplex with an inside cradle to steal the victory! Perfect is the new WWF Intercontinental Champion! After the match, Perfect hugs Heenan and it looks like they have joined forces.

2. This week on the Brother Love Show, Tugboat is the special guest. Tugboat doesn’t care who it is, if they come into the harbor they have to deal with the tugboat. I think that’s what he said. He doesn’t really speak all that well. Hulk Hogan shows up from behind Tugboat and Brother Love is pissed! Hogan tells us that he has known Tugboat ever since he was little. Hogan is the guy who brought Tugboat into the WWF and says Tugboat is the example of what Hogan has been preaching over the years. No one can break the bond of friendship between Tugboat and Hogan, brother. Brother Love notes that next week he will have Earthquake on his show. Hogan proclaims that Hulkamania is the greatest force in the WWF and that will not change!

3. We get a second featured bout on this show, which doesn’t happen often I don’t believe. Boris misses a splash in the corner on Jannetty early on and is nearly pinned. Boris is dropped by a double dropkick and so does Volkoff. Jannetty comes off the middle rope to axe handle Boris but is poked in the eyes. Volkoff tags in and hammers away on Jannetty. Boris misses Jannetty and hits Volkoff on accident. Michaels got the hot tag to drop Boris with a swinging neck breaker! The Rockers take care of business and hit Boris with a double superkick. They head to the top rope and hit a double fist drop to win the match! That was pretty much a squash match, folks. After the match, Boris and Volkoff shove each other with Volkoff attacking Boris until Boris is able to bail to the floor and heads to the backstage area.

4. We see another video with Bobby Heenan and Rick Rude training for a showdown with the Ultimate Warrior. Rude knows that he can beat the Ultimate Warrior. He is the only man who has beaten the Ultimate Warrior. He is going to pound Warrior until he crumbles.

Final Thoughts:
A very good episode of Superstars with a big match between Perfect/Santana and the interview segment with Hogan/Tugboat, and the split between Boris and Volkoff proved that a lot was going on here and there wasn’t much of a dull spot in the episode. This one gets a big thumbs up from me.

Thanks for reading.
