Yearly Review: WWF March 1993
Just one month away from the biggest event of year for the WWF.
WWF World Championship Scene: (currently held by: Bret Hart)
Bret started the month successfully defending the championship against Fatu on the 3/1 RAW. More importantly, Bret had a contract signing with Yokozuna on the March 28th Wrestling Challenge. At the signing, Yokozuna rammed the edge of a table into Hart and proceeded to hit a Bonzai Drop. This happened after Bret said he would be 100% for their match at WrestleMania IX next month.
Bret would defend the championship against Bam-Bam Bigelow during the month on the house show market. He would also team with Mr. Perfect against Lex Luger and Razor Ramon.
WWF Intercontinental Championship Scene: (currently held by: Shawn Michaels)
Shawn Michaels didn’t compete much during the month having only worked a few squash matches and one match against Crush on the house show market. Michaels would defend the championship against the man who pinned him several times last month, Tatanka, at WrestleMania IX.
WWF World Tag Team Championship Scene: (currently held by: Money Inc.)
It was revealed early in the month that Money Inc. would defend the tag titles at WrestleMania IX against Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake. Originally it was going to be the Nasty Boys, but they simply stepped aside to allow this match to happen. That was the actual explantation
DiBiase and IRS won a match against Tito Santana & Virgil on the 3/8 RAW. That was the only marquee match the champions had on television.
– Repo Man made his last appearance in the WWF on the March 22nd RAW losing a tag match to the Bushwhackers.
– Giant Gonzales and Harvey Wippleman continued to say that the Undertaker would rest in peace at WrestleMania IX. The Undertaker would work house shows against Yokozuna during the month.
– Not much taking place the month prior to WrestleMania IX.
No major events took place during the month.
