Written by: Bob Colling

World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date:
7/24/1993
From: Lake Charles, LA

Matches:
1.) Keith & Kent Cole defeated Bobby Eaton & Chris Benoit
2.) Dustin Rhodes defeated Tom Burton
3.) The Colossal Kongs defeated Rick Tango & Ronnie Vegas
4.) Yoshi Kwan defeated An Unknown
5.) 2 Cold Scorpio, Johnny B. Badd & Tom Zenk defeated Maxx Payne, Big Sky & Lord Steven Regal

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Dustin Rhodes is interviewed to start the program. He talks about the Clash of the Champions taking place in August and how he will be teaming with a mystery partner against WCW United States Champion Rick Rude and a partner of his choosing. Rhodes is excited for the event and says that his partner is someone that Rude knows.

2.) Dusty Rhodes is interviewed again regarding the Super Assassin. It’s a repetitive interview that we’ve heard over the last several weeks. Apparently, Assassin has called Dusty’s mother again.

3.) Harley Race and the Kongs are interviewed. Race puts over his stable of men until Schiavone says a package arrived to the WCW headquarters. Race opens the package and it is a cactus plant. Race proceeds to break the plant and storms off the set.

4.) WCW United States Champion Rick Rude and the Equalizer are interviewed. Rude says that Dustin Rhodes doesn’t have a partner and is just playing mind games before the August Clash of the Champions.

5.) Ricky Steamboat is interviewed about his match with WCW Television Champion Paul Orndorff. Steamboat says this could be his final run in wrestling and thus defeating Orndorff is even more important at the Clash.

Final Thoughts:
Creative is really flat and the program is just not all that fun to be watching, at least for Saturday Night.

Thanks for reading.
