End of show

My Take: The opening contest was clearly just a way to actually promote the main event, which is fine. Apparently, Bischoff and Hogan haven’t remembered the failed heel runs by Sting back in 1999 in WCW and the whole Main Event Mafia deal in TNA. Sting never gives his all in the heel role, or the fans just do not want to hate him. I doubt this one will be any different. Though, having Sting put his hands on Dixie was a good way to try to get it across he is a bad ass.

I enjoyed the interview segment with Daniels, Kazarian and Williams. Their match was also a good television match, I thought. A very good fast pace match that really showcased what the X-division should be. Shannon Moore getting a title shot doesn’t interest me. I mean, he hasn’t done anything in TNA to actually earn the shot. I was looking forward to Williams vs. Kazarian. Not looking forward to Moore vs. Williams.

The Beauitful People winning the Knockout Tag Team Championships is the right move. They are obviously the most over womens tag team in TNA. It makes sense. Their was zero mention to the fact that Awesome Kong and Hamada were stripped of the titles. Daffney screwing over Tara confirms a upcoming match at Destination X, I would think.

Well, I really don’t think a RVD/Sting match should have happended if RVD was going to just beat Sting in three seconds. Should have just had a pull apart brawl between the two. The beat down afterwards seemed to kill the crowd as RVD had a pretty good reaction going until he was brutally beaten.

Wasn’t a fan of the Nash/Young/Hall/Waltman segment. The whole angle hasn’t been interesting to me at all. For some reason, I am thinking that Nash screws Young over and this was all a indepth ploy to get his buddies contracts. I did like Young going over Waltman, though. Just another really quick match.

Angle/Anderson was just another brawl, really. Same thing for what seems a month. Angle needs to win at Destination X, in my opinion.

Well, Beer Money Inc are now heels. I guess that is a fine change. I was worried that they were going to lose to Jarrett, which wouldn’t have made any sense. Their was also ZERO mention of the TNA World Tag Team Champions. I thought that was rather odd.

The main event was fine for what it was. Just another brawl with Hogan and Flair doing the same spots they have been doing for twenty years. Surprised that Flair didn’t take the pin with Hogan pinning him. Abyss getting the win over the champ makes him look like a legitamite threat and makes it seem like perhaps he could win the title at Destination X.

Kind of disappointing that they cut away before the Jeff Hardy swanton bomb. But, oh well. It’s not like I have never seen the move or anything.

Brooke Hogan is a rather bad actress though. All the segments she was in, just came across really phony as she wasn’t really able to fake cry all that well.

Overall, I enjoyed the show. I actually found myself interested in what was going on. Not as much Bischoff this week as previous weeks, which is a good thing. Now, time to cut Hogan’s onair involvment and push younger guys who can bring something to the table.

Good way to start the Monday Night Wars pt. II.

Thanks for reading.
