World Championship Wrestling presents Main Event
1.) Diamond Dallas Page defeated Tom Zenk
2.) Johnny B. Badd defeated Randy Starr
3.) Ricky Steamboat defeated Fred Avery
4.) Nikita Koloff defeated Bobby Eaton
1.) Jim Ross interviewed WCW United States Champion Rick Rude and Madusa. Madusa has claimed that Ricky Steamboat has been stalking her and says that Steamboat has let the air out of her tires from her car at her apartment. Rude chimes in and says that the WCW US Championship is his and Madusa is his woman. Rude says that Steamboat is going to let himself down and will let his team down at Wrestle War.
2.) There is still some doubt on whether or not Nikita Koloff has the right intentions at Wrestle War. Magnum TA is about to trust anyone, apparently.
3.) Koloff shoves Eaton away at the start and the fans are heavily behind Nikita. Koloff takes Eaton down with a shoulder block and plays to the crowd. Eaton works over Koloff in the corner with a few strikes. Eaton hits a vertical suplex but Koloff pops up and no sells it. Koloff drops Eaton with a clothesline and the fans are going nuts for Nikita. They go with a test of strength where Eaton boots Koloff in the midsection to get the advantage. Koloff backdrops Eaton and knocks Bobby through the ropes to the floor. Eaton clotheslines Koloff but Koloff again no sells it. Eaton sends Koloff to the floor where Koloff hits the ring post on a clothesline attempt. Eaton rams Koloff’s arm across the guard railing. Eaton works over Koloff with strikes to the chest. Koloff ducks a clothesline and nails Eaton with the Russian Sickle to win the match. (*1/2. That was a fine quick match between guys involved in War Games that was going on later on in the night. This didn’t seem like a match that Eaton was going to prevail in at any point.)
Mostly just hype for War Games, as expected. I didn’t hate it since there isn’t anything wrong with some last minute hype and we at least got a decent feature match involving guys involved in that main event.
Thanks for reading.
