4.) Rikishi & Too Cool defeated The Mean Street Posse

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Kurt Angle opens the show reminding the fans that he is the only undefeated wrestler in the WWF and all the wrestlers are gunning for him, including Christian. Angle knows this is a big deal for Christian and a phenomenal task at hand. Angle is going to prove what he is capable of.

2.) Angle takes Christian down with a fireman’s carry slam to start the bout and plays to the crowd. Christian kicks Angle in the midsection followed by a right hand. Christian counters the Olympic Slam trying for the Un-Prettier but Angle broke free of it. Angle elbows Christian but is sent to the floor. Christian takes Angle out with a springboard cross body over the top to the floor. Christian gets a near fall with a rollup attempt. Christian rams Angle into the corner and attempts a tornado DDT but Angle counters with a clothesline. Angle takes Christian over with a German suplex. Angle works over Christian with several right hands in the corner. Angle scoop slams Christian and twists Christian’s neck. They both collide attempting a cross body. Christian hits a side Russian leg sweep and a backdrop. Angle boots Christian in the corner but Christian comes back with a tornado DDT out of the corner. Angle decides to roll to the floor to regroup and appears to walk backstage. However, Christian brings Angle back into the ring. Steve Blackman attacks Christian from behind on the floor, but Edge comes out too and they brawl. Christian plants Angle with the Un-Prettier but the referee is distracted. Christian is annoyed with the referee. Angle takes Christian over with the Olympic Slam to win the match. (**. A decent match between two future HOFs. The involvement from Blackman wasn’t really needed. Angle is a great talent and it noticeable so early into his career.)

3.) Backstage, the Mean Street Posse are pissed about Funaki and Taka costing them matches. Joey Abs knows a way for them to win a match and that’s take them out before they even make it to the ring.

4.) Hardy works over Albert with a few kicks in the corner followed by Whisper in the Wind for a two count. Hardy springboards off the top rope to flip over Albert and dropkicks him to the floor. Hardy takes Albert out with a somersault dive to the outside. Hardy attempts a sunset flip but Albert kicks out at two. Albert works over Hardy with stomps and runs over Jeff with a shoulder block. Albert slingshots Hardy throat first across the middle rope. Albert press slams Hardy gut first to the canvas. Albert takes Hardy over with a double under hook suplex for a near fall. Albert works over Hardy with strikes in the corner but misses a splash. Hardy gets caught on a hurricanrana attempt and Albert hits a sit down power bomb. Terri gets on the apron and here comes Big Bossman. Bossman tosses the nightstick in but Jeff gets it and decks Albert for the win. For some reason, the finish was zoomed in majorly. Jeff gets the three count. (**. A fine, yet short match. Albert is really solid in the ring for a big guy.)

5.) Backstage, the Mean Street Posse are looking for Funaki and Taka but they run into Rikishi in the bathroom. After making fun of him for pooping, they try to attack Rikishi and fail.

6.) After D’Lo Brown’s entrance for his singles match, the number 13 and a design appears on the screen. “The mood is about to change.” is heard, but D’Lo just shrugs that off and continues his routine.

7.) Bubba works over D”Lo with several right hands to start off the match. Bubba shoulder blocks Brown but is met with a hip toss and an arm drag. Brown backdrops Bubba but Bubba is able to backdrop Brown over the top to the floor. Brown sends Bubba shoulder first into the ring steps. Brown rolls Bubba into the ring and comes off the top hitting a cross body for a two count. Brown comes off the ropes but D-Von grabs his boot. Bubba plants Brown with a back suplex to get the advantage. Bubba works over Brown in the corner with strikes. Bubba takes Brown over with a snap suplex for a two count. Brown nearly wins with a rollup as Bubba was arguing with the referee. Bubba drops Brown with a right hand. Bubba connects with a headbutt to the lower midsection. Bubba tosses D’Lo to the floor where D-Von gets a few shots in. Bubba works over Brown with chops to the chest against the ropes. Brown goes for a sunset flip and manages a two count. Bubba plants Brown with a side slam for a two count. Bubba comes off the ropes but misses a splash. Brown nails Bubba with a heel kick and a scoop slam. Brown delivers a leg drop but Bubba is able to kick out at two. Brown nails Bubba with a forearm strike for a two count. Bubba stops Brown with a power bomb and delivers a sit down splash for a two count. Bubba continues to work over D’Lo in the corner before delivering a scoop slam. D-Von goes to the top rope but the referee is preventing him from jumping off. Bubba is distracted by what is going on. Brown gets up and punches Bubba but is stopped by a Samoan Drop. Bubba heads to the middle rope and misses a back splash. Brown finishes Bubba off with the Sky High for the win. (*1/2. It was a little odd seeing Bubba compete in a singles match. I really thought he was going to win, but D’Lo appears to be still in strong positioning in the single ranks. The match was just meh to me.)

8.) Backstage, Rikishi is still mad about earlier with the Posse. Too Cool come over and ask what’s going on. Rikishi wants to know if they have his back. Rikishi wants to get some revenge on the Posse and wants them to have his back. They promise to have his back, so we’ll have a six man tag match later tonight.

9.) Backstage, Funaki and Taka run into Tori getting some water. She seems to be offended by something they are saying. She thinks they are saying they want to mess with her. Tori tells them to wait right there.

10.) Crash and Hardcore Holly make their way down to the ring to cut a promo. Hardcore tries to talk but the crowd is giving him too much heat. Hardcore thinks he deserves respect since he is the “Big Shot”. Hardcore tells everyone that he defeated both Chyna and Chris Jericho in the middle of the ring. Thus, he thinks he should be the WWF Intercontinental Champion. Hardcore made a challenge earlier in the day and wants one of them to come to the ring right now and accept his challenge. WWF Intercontinental Champion co-holder Chyna makes her way to the ring alongside Kat. Chyna accepts the challenge and says she is going to kick his ass. Well, here comes Chris Jericho to voice his opinion. Jericho says that there is no doubt that Chyna is a tough sister. However, he isn’t going to take the chance in her screwing this up. So, Jericho wants to take the match, which isn’t okay with Chyna. Hardcore chimes in and says that both wrestlers can’t accept the offer. Hardcore suggests that the match be a triple threat match for the championship. Chyna repeats the offer to make sure she understood the offer. She accepts the offer and Jericho accepts, as well. Hardcore is confident that he’ll win the championship.

11.) Backstage, Funaki and Taka are destroyed by Kane because Tori sent him after them.

12.) Sexay and Hotty attack Rodney and Abs on the floor for the early advantage. Rikiski drops Pete with a super kick and a running back splash in the corner. Pete stumbles out and Rikishi hit a belly to bell suplex. Rikishi plants Abs with the Rikishi Driver. Rodney begs off in the ring but he’s all alone. Too Cool delivers a double elbow drop to Rodney and sets up for the Bonzai Drop. Rikishi comes off the middle rope and hits it for the win. (NR. A complete squash and nothing of a match. But, it was an entertaining segment.) After the match, Too Cool dances.

Final Thoughts:
A much better show this week with a couple of entertaining matches and some angle advancement for the Royal Rumble pay per view.

Thanks for reading.
