WWF Heat 2/11/2001

Written by: Bob Colling

World Wrestling Federation presents Heat
Date:
2/11/2001

Matches:
1.)Haku defeated Scotty 2 Hotty
2.)Albert defeated Crash Holly
3.)Undertaker & Kane defeated Kaientai
4.)WWF World Champion Kurt Angle defeated Essa Rios in a non-title match

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Edge and Christian open the show as they are the special guests this week. They hype up the show which will see the Undertaker and Kane in action. We will also see WWF World Champion Kurt Angle competing against Essa Rios. They taunt the Undertaker and Kane saying that they are going to beat them tomorrow night on RAW. Edge and Christian proceed to leave after doing the five seconds of flash photography.

2.They are already outside discussing what they could possibly do now that they are looking to leave. They decide to go over to TRL and beat up Carson Daly! They enter the building and ram the security guy head first into his desk before running into the studio.

3.Scotty tried to overcome the size difference against Haku, but wasn’t able to pull off the miracle win. Haku locked in the Tongan death grip to get the pin fall victory.

4.Back to Edge and Christian, they are at an empty studio where TRL shoots their show. They make fun of Carson Daly and his clothes. Edge thinks he sees a guy with a Kane mask on. So, they make the best decision and decide to leave the studio.

5.Late in the match, Crash hits a missile dropkick and almost managed to pick up a win. Albert has enough of Crash and finishes him off with the Baldo Bomb for the win.

6.Edge and Christian are trying on sunglasses when they see a guy in a Kane mask. They run away agiain.

7.Kaientai issued an open challenge, which was answered by Undertaker and Kane. Taka is pinned by Kane after a double Last Ride. That wasn’t surprising at all.

8.Edge and Christian are on the subway, but they see the Kane masked guy again and run away.

9.Rios tried to use his speed to upset the champ. He hit a nice springboard hurricanrana but only got a near fall. Rios leaps off the top looking for a moonsault but Angle got his knees up. Angle reverses an Irish whip by hitting the Olympic Slam to win the match. After the match, Angle hits two more Olympic Slams. I enjoyed that little match.

10.To close the show, we find out who was wearing the Kane mask. It was the Brooklyn Brawler. Brawler tells Edge and Christian that they had been dissing NYC and no one does that. Edge and Christian end up whacking Brawler with chairs and walk off the stage to end the show.

Final Thoughts:
It was a good episode this week. The Edge and Christian stuff was amusing, but kind of got old near the end of it. Plus, Angle/Rios put on an enjoyable little match with Rios nearly pinning the champ. It was nice to see some star power on this weeks episode.

Thanks for reading.
