WWF Heat 2/18/2001

Written by: Bob Colling

World Wrestling Federation presents Heat

1.)Haku defeated Hardcore Holly
2.)Eddie Guerrero defeated K-Kwik
3.)The Undertaker defeated Christian by disqualification

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Perry Saturn and Terri are the special guests for this weeks episode. They open the show by telling us that they are going to show us sides of them that we have never seen before. I’m not entirely sure what that means.

2.Late in the match, Hardcore hits a dropkick but only gets a near fall. He follows up with a top rope cross body but only manages a two count. Hardcore decides to go up top one more time but he is met in midair with the Tongan death grip. That is good enough for Haku to extend his winning streak on Heat.

3.Terri and Saturn make fun of Michael Cole for a few minutes because they can.

4.Late in the match, Kwik drives Guerrero down to the mat with a vertical suplex but misses a moonsault off the top. Guerrero plants Kwik with a brain buster and hits a top rope frog splash to win the bout.

5.WWF World Champion Kurt Angle comes out to cut a promo on the Rock. Angle says that he has millions of fans, a Hollywood star and the most electrifying man in sports entertainment today. He believes he is the people’s champion. Angle tells us that his title reign is just beginning and the last time Rock said he was going to beat him, he didn’t. Angle brags about pinning Rock at Armageddon to retain the championship inside the Hell in a Cell cage. Angle tells us that he is going shut his mouth once and for all next Sunday!

6.It’s time for the main event. Christian gets the advantage following a clothesline off the apron after Undertaker went to the floor to punch Edge, who had been trying to distract him. Taker drives Christian down to the mat with a Last Ride and goes for the cover. Edge rolls in and breaks up the count to cause the disqualification. After the match, Kane comes down to the ring and chases Edge and Christian from the ring to save his brother.

Final Thoughts:
It was a rather weak episode even with Taker/Christian competing on the show. Their match wasn’t good as it was just a way to advance their feud I would think. The Angle promo was the best part of the show as he made some nice points and built up his match with Rock very well. The match of the night was probably Guerrero/Kwik. I’d consider it to be an average episode at best.

Thanks for reading.
