Angle Developments/Notes:
1.After winning his squash match, King Mabel proclaims that he will be the WWF World Champion after SummerSlam.

2.Fatu is back to give us a positive message about not doing drugs and remaining positive. This confirms the gimmick of a motivational speaker.

3.Backstage, Jerry Lawler conducted an interview with WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels. Lawler says that a lot of the fans can’t wait for Sid to destroy Michaels at SummerSlam. Michaels suggests that he and Lawler meet before SummerSlam, but Lawler doesn’t take the challenge seriously. Lawler would like to get his hands on Michaels. Michaels knows that he can get something put together with Lawler. Lawler claims that he can’t accept the match but he is a broadcaster.

4.Dean Douglas is back with another Report Card segment following Bigelow’s match. He is going to critique Bigelow’s performance. Douglas focuses on the word beast to describe Bigelow. Douglas says Bigelow has the face of a walrus! Douglas gives Bigelow an F based on looks alone.

5.Backstage, WWF World Tag Team Champions Owen Hart and Yokozuna are with Jim Cornette to promote their match with Ramon and Vega. Cornette doesn’t believe there is any risk of them losing the championships.

6.Owen slaps Vega but is greeted by Vega with right hands to open the main event. Vega drops Owen with a backdrop and a hip toss. Owen is dropped by Vega following a chop and Ramon tags in to work on Owen’s left arm. Ramon drops Owen with a big right hand and Owen falls to the floor. Ramon catches Owen and hits a fall away slam. Yokozuna is tagged into the bout. Ramon hammers away on Yoko with right hands before tagging in Vega. Vega sends Yoko to the floor after hitting a dropkick! Vega arm drags Owen to keep control of the champions. Owen nails Vega with a spinning heel kick after sending Vega chest first into the corner. Yoko tags in and leg drops Vega! Owen slams Vega on the floor while the referee is distracted. Back from a break, Ramon has tagged in and leaps off the middle rope to bulldog Yoko for a two count. Yoko is sent into Owen and is clotheslined by the challengers! Ramon counters a backdrop and hits the Razors Edge on Owen for the win! The referee realizes his mistake as Owen wasn’t the legal man. The match is restarted and Jim Cornette is banned from ringside! Ramon tosses Owen off the top onto Yoko and tags in Vega. Vega slingshots Owen back into the ring and delivers a back elbow for a two count. Owen is rammed head first into the top turnbuckle ten times and Vega gets a near fall yet again. Yoko hits Vega from the apron to help Owen as we go to our third commercial break. Yoko tags in but misses an elbow drop as the show is nearly out of time. Ramon knocks Owen down with several right hands. Ramon crotches Owen on the top rope. Ramon tries a back suplex but Owen counters with a cross body but Ramon rolls through for a near fall! Ramon gets another two count after a clothesline. Ramon choke slams Owen but both men are down. Ramon signals for the Razors Edge but the show is over! We don’t get a finish and thus, as mentioned, the match will restart next week!

Final Thoughts:
The main event was a very enjoyable match, but I was not a fan of the ending. That annoys me almost twenty years after the fact. If I had been watching this the night it aired and the main event didn’t have a finish I would have been severely disappointed with that. Considering there wasn’t a finish, I can recommend this episode because the show is heavily relying on the big matches. Unless of course you like matches that get cut off because of time, then you’ll like this one.

Thanks for reading.
