3.) Terry Garvin defeated Kenny The Stinger in the first round of the Light Heavyweight Tournament
4.) John Tatum defeated Khris Germany in the first round of the Light Heavyweight Tournament

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Craig Johnson and Scott Hudson talk about the GWF Light Heavyweight Title tournament. They mention Randy Rhodes is in the tournament despite his massive size and they aren’t sure how he got entry into the tournament.

2.) Joe Pedicino interviews the Handsome Stranger (Marcus Alexander Bagwell). Stranger has a rose and is wearing a mask. Pedicino notes the ladies go crazy for the Stranger. Pedicino asks who Stranger is and why he wears the mask. Stranger says a little mystery adds to the romance and says he doesn’t always wear the mask. Stranger is saving for his wedding night when he’ll take his mask off. (I guarantee GWF is planning a wedding for the grand reveal.)

3.) Christopher Love (Bert Prentice) comes out and assures the audience that Randy Rhodes is truly 226lbs and not anything more than that.

4.) Rhodes and Love are yelling at the fans when Lynn runs up from behind and gets a rollup on Rhodes to pickup the victory in the shortest match in GWF history to this point.

5.) Scott Hudson interviews Randy Rhodes and Christopher Love on the podium. Love says the fans are the only losers and assures us again that Rhodes is only 226lbs. Love promises to wake the fans up. Rhodes has papers proving his weight and wants a rematch with Lynn.

6.) Daniels takes Gareen down to the mat and they trade some mat wrestling until Daniels gets a headlock to gain control. Gareen counters with a head scissors on the mat for a few moments. Daniels pops out of the head scissors and they counter each other on the mat again. Gareen keeps hammerlock control, but Daniels counters. Daniels takes Garren down to the mat, but doesn’t deliver a stomp. Garren head scissors Daniels to the mat and keeps the advantage. Gareen kicks Daniels away and hits a money flip that Daniels nearly lands on his feet. Daniels arm drags Gareen and keeps arm control on the mat. Daniels shoulder blocks Gareen followed by a dropkick. Daniels arm drags Gareen to regain arm control. Daniels backs off with Gareen against the ropes. Daniels drop toe holds Gareen to the mat and keeps leg control. Daniels isn’t able to get a submission. Daniels arm drags Gareen and maintains arm control. Daniels backs Gareen against the ropes, but doesn’t deliver a cheap shot. Gareen almost wins with a rollup. They have a standoff after locking up on the mat. Daniels scoop slams Gareen and wins with an inside cradle to advance in the tournament. (1/2*. A rather boring match. I feel like they think mat wrestling is Light Heavyweight style wrestling and it’s not entertaining in any way.)

7.) Joe Pedicino hosts the Newsroom segment. Pedicino promotes the Light Heavyweight tournament. Whomever wins will be seen as the greatest light heavyweight wrestler in the world. Pedicino talks about the tag title tournament. Apparently, the champions in England got in a car accident thirty days ago and they can’t defend the titles. Pedicino highlights a few teams that will be competing in the tournament.

8.) Boni Blackstone interviews Tanya for a fan question. Tanya wants to know where Chaz learned his moves.

9.) Stinger quickly attacks Garvin with chops and stomps for the early advantage. Stinger continues with a powerslam and taunts the fans. Stinger kicks Garvin followed by an overhand strike to the back. Garvin comes off the ropes to bulldog Stinger. Stinger shoves Garvin away and bails to the floor to regroup. Stinger puts a full nelson on Garvin, but Garvin counters with a hip toss for a two count. Garvin takes Stinger down to the mat and keeps waist control. Stinger reaches the ropes to force a rope break. Stinger overhand chops Garvin in the corner. Garvin overhand chops Stinger several times. Garvin waits for Stinger to get up, but stands off. Stinger offers a handshake, but Garvin doesn’t do it after playing to the crowd. Stinger decks Garvin with a clothesline. Stinger nails Garvin with a leaping clothesline for a near fall. Garvin knee lifts Stinger, but Stinger slams Garvin for a two count. Stinger stomps Garvin on the face, but Garvin fights back with a scoop slam, but misses an elbow drop. Stinger delivers a leg drop and axe handles Garvin over the back followed by a knee lift. Stinger clotheslines Garvin over the top to the floor. Stinger scoop slams Garvin and heads to the top rope. Stinger leaps off missing a splash attempt. Garvin plants Stinger with a DDT and picks up the win. (1/2*. Garvin showed some charisma and fire, but the action here left a lot to be desired.)

10.) Boni Blackstone talks with Chaz about the fans question about how he learned his moves. Chaz credits his family for his moves. Chaz goes to the gym everyday and loves the fans for their support. Chaz is not a good promo.

11.) Tatum backs Germany into the corner and delivers a couple of slaps before backing off. Tatum backs Germany into the corner again, but this time backs off. Tatum strikes Germany to break free of a wrist lock followed by strikes against the ropes. Tatum decks Germany with a clothesline. Tatum chops Germany away and eye rakes Germany. Tatum snap suplexs Germany for a near fall. Tatum nails Germany with a clothesline and taunts the fans. Tatum jabs Germany in the corner. Tatum controls Germany on the mat with a sleeper. Tatum overhand strikes Germany in the corner and continues looking for a piledriver, but Tatum counters with a backdrop. Tatum strikes Germany in the corner and eventually wins with a superkick to advance. (*. For some reason the match cuts out and then we see highlight package covering the end of the match, so that was weird. Tatum is the right call to advance, but the trend of lackluster action continues in GWF.)

Final Thoughts:
The biggest pop of the night was Lynn winning a quick match, but I’m wondering if that was the fans showing excitement of not having to sit through a painful match. I can’t wait for the tournament themes to end and the company produce a traditional wrestling show.
