Mike Johnson of PWInsider is the host of a series named Legends of Extreme that is produced under the Highspots banner. The idea of the series is to get a roundtable of former Extreme Championship Wrestling wrestlers and discuss various events that happened during the existence of ECW. As of November 2017 there has been two seasons produced and released.

By April 1st, 2001, both World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling were out of business leaving a lot of top names wrestlers available for independent shows. In this case, former ECW/WCW wrestlers Sandman and Chris Candido appeared on a show for the wrestling company Legacy Wrestling Enterprises. The show took place on December 5th, 2002 and was held in Fort Worth, Texas. After looking up the company, it appears they had only one show, with this match about to be highlighted as their one and only main event in company history.
Well, there is a bit of a backstory for the match. I seem to recall a shoot interview with Chris Candido where he recalls the match with Sandman as being a complete disaster since they drove together to Texas from New Jersey. Along with Tammy Sytch, they were drunk and exhausted from the road prior to appearing on the show. So, with that in mind, this should be interesting to see how this plays out. Read more
In the mid 1990s whenever you heard “Enter Sandman” by Metallica there may have been two thoughts that entered your mind. If you’re a baseball fan, perhaps it is Mariano Rivera coming out in the 9th to seal a victory for the most hated baseball franchise in history. Or, if you’re a professional wrestling fan, perhaps it was the sound of one of the most popular characters in Extreme Championship Wrestling making his way down to the ring through the crowd hitting himself on the forehead with a beer and smoking a cigarette. The third year of existence for Squared Circle Wrestling would see a heated feud between 2CW and NWA Upstate take place, an ECW icon falling asleep in the ring, and a heated feud over the 2CW Heavyweight Championship throughout the year between Slyck Wagner Brown and Jimmy Olsen. Read more
