ROH Final Battle 2011 Predictions!

Tomorrow night Ring of Honor returns to internet pay per view with their biggest show of the year, Final Battle. It is taking place live in New York, NY and is surely going to be an explosive night. Here are my predictions for the show.

Special Attraction:
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Jimmy Rave

It makes sense for this contest to happen, but there isn’t any real build for it. Rave isn’t on the active roster and is on the show for a special appearance. Considering he used to be Prince Nana’s crown jewel it will be interesting to see how he interacts with Nana at the show. Ciampa is on a roll in ROH and I don’t see that stopping here.

Special Challenge Match:
Michael Elgin vs. TJ Perkins

Elign is obviously being promotes as being a top heel in the near future for ROH. It will probably be a competitive match but Elgin should take care of business.

Tag Team Gauntlet Match:
All Night Express vs. Future Shock vs. The Bravados vs. The Young Bucks vs. Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander

I’m going to remove the Bravados and the team of Coleman and Alexander from any consideration to win this. From what I remember the Young Bucks haven’t played a big role in ROH. So, that leaves me with the All Night Express and Future Shock. On one had they could go with the Express to drag out their issues with WGTT or the Briscoe Brotehrs. Or, they could finally establish Future Shock as the future stars of the company with a win. I think the ANX win this one.

Invitational Challenge:
Roderick Strong vs. ???

Whenever these type of matches are promoted, the mystery guy always wins. I don’t really have any idea who the guy is, but I’m hoping that it’s Cabana or Hero. If it’s either one of them they will beat Strong.

No Disqualification Match:
Kevin Steen vs. Steve Corino

If Steen doesn’t win this match I don’t know if I can watch ROH ever again. He needs to be back in the company.

For the ROH World Television Championship: Triple Threat Match
(champion) Jay Lethal defends against El Generico & Mike Bennett

Since former WWE Diva Maria is making an appearance to be by Bennett’s side for the match, I’m going to go with Bennett to win gold. He has been talking a lot of crap since he made his debut and it’s about time he becomes a champion.

For the ROH World Tag Team Championships:
(champions) Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas vs. Briscoe Brothers

I think 2012 starts off with a lengthy ANX/Briscoe feud for the tag team titles. I know that they had several bloodbaths this year, but I just have a feeling that it will continue. Even if ANX don’t win their match, I think it’s time to take the belts off WGTT and maybe allow them to work singles matches in ROH for a little while and team on a less regular basis for a few months.

For the ROH World Championship:
(champion) Davey Richards vs. Eddie Edwards

The addition of Dan Severn to be in Edwards corner doesn’t add any kind of excitement to the match. I really don’t get the addition at all. This is surely going to be a great match but Richards should hold onto the championship and have a really long run with it.

Those are my predictions for Final Battle 2011. I hope you enjoy the show if you purchase it. Happy Holidays!
