911 (w/ Paul E Dangerously) vs. Mikey Whipwreck & Paul Lauria (1994-03-05)
Crowd is super fucking loud with a huge “911” chant. Double choke slam and pin in .18. More after the match. A few ring crew guys get some also. This was awesome and the fans were losing their shit.
Opening video.
Joey Styles welcomes us and lets us know that “The Franchise” Shane Douglas with be his guest commentator tonight.
Bad Breed vs. “Hitman” Tony Stetson & Johnny Hotbody ref Jim Molineaux (1994-03-06)
Wait what? Why are Hotbody and Stetson back together? Stetson and Hotbody have a miss cue and bump into each other and argue a bunch. Stetson gets beat on and Hotbody refuses to make the tag. Hotbody finally comes in and he just gets destroyed. Ian nails a nasty looking double arm DDT but then misses a dive off the apron to the floor. Hotbody with a snap suplex on the floor. Hotbody maintains control and nails a superplex. Stetson asks for a tag and gets it but then he and Hotbody argue. The Rottens switch in the ring and Axl school boys Stetson for the win. Ok so this match made no sense. I don’t get why they were teaming again and also why the Rottens had to finish it that way after dominating most of the match. Stupid booking. 7.55 was the time.
Sandman vs. Chad Austin ref Jim Molineaux (1994-03-05)
Sandman with an implant DDT and pin in .09. He does it again and out comes Peaches. She yells at him for being a dick and he twists her arm. Tommy Cairo comes out to calm things down and Sandman nails him and hits the DDT. Peaches yells at him and tells him to leave and the fans cheer loudly for the abusive drunk.
Bruise Brothers vs. Hack Myers & Bob Starr (1994-03-06)
The Bruise Brothers come down the aisle dragging their opponents and beating the shit out of them. Running powerslam and snap suplex in the ring as Hack gets beat on outside of the ring. Double big boot and that’s it in 1.09. The Harris brothers beat them to the back.
Tag Team Champions Kevin Sullivan & Tazmaniac (w/ Woman) vs. Public Enemy ref Jim Molineaux (1994-03-06)
Sullivan brawls with Rocco Roc and Tazmaniac with Johnny Grunge. After a few minutes the Bruise Brothers hit the ring. Sullivan picks up Roc for a slam but Tazmaniac gets a big boot and gently bumps into them on his way down knocking them over. Roc lands on top of Sullivan getting the pin in 2.29.
Jay Sulli is trying to interview the new Tag Team Champions but they have run out of the arena with the belts. Kevin Sullivan, Tazmaniac and Woman are backstage. Sullivan is mad and says that since you can do whatever you want in ECW they have brought in Crash. Crash just growls a lot.
Hype video for the Hawk versus Pitbull match coming up later tonight.
Matty in the House announces the main event for March 26th Double Jeopardy. It’s a double main event as “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka takes on Tommy Dreamer and then Shane Douglas, Mr Hughes and Tag Team Champions Public Enemy take on Champion Terry Funk, Hawk, Kevin Sullivan & Tazmaniac. Both matches are set to take place in a cage! Matty shows us the end of the Snuka Dreamer match from the 5th. Dreamer had a small package on Snuka but Hunter Q. Robbins III came in and nailed him with his cane. Snuka nails Dreamer with a piledriver on the floor and then sends him into the ring post. Dreamer gets busted open. Dreamer gets nailed with a chair a few times and Snuka climbs the top rope and hits the superbly splash. Ultimate Jeopardy video package which features lots of clips from the matches on the 5th that featured the participants. During the Funk Douglas match everyone else from the Jeopardy match got involved. The way Ultimate Jeopardy works is there is a stipulation attached to each person and should they be the one to take the fall that stipulation will be carried out. Douglas gets his head shaved, Funk loses the title, Rocco Roc or Johnny Grunge would lose the titles, Tazmaniac and Sullivan would have to split up, Hughes losing gives everyone on the other team 5 minutes in the cage with Jason, Hawk has to give up the Road Warrior nickname.
Pitbull (w/ Jason) vs. Hawk Jim Molineaux (1994-03-06)
Hawk gets clotheslined and kicked but refuses to take a bump. Hawk sent into the corner but he comes charging out and hits a clothesline then the doomsday device for the win in 1.50. Jason comes in and gets press slammed into Jason. All the Ultimate Jeopardy guys come out and they brawl to end the show.
My thoughts on the show
911 is insanely over already. The finish to the tag team title match was pretty awful.
