World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date:
7/11/1992
From: Atlanta, GA

Matches:

2.) Johnny B. Badd defeated George South
3.) Bobby Eaton defeated Michael Hayes
4.) The Barbarian defeated Randy Stallings
5.) Greg Valentine & Dick Slater defeated Brian Pillman & Big Josh
6.) Ricky Steamboat & Nikita Koloff defeated Boomer Lynch & John Peterson
7.) Ron Simmons defeated Mark Canterbury
8.) WCW World Champion Sting defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a non-title match

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Brad Armstrong won the WCW Lightweight Championship at the Omni last weekend as did Terry Gordy and Steve Williams winning the WCW World Tag Team Championships from the Steiner Brothers.

2.) WCW Lightweight Champion Brad Armstrong cut a promo after beating Scotty Flamingo for the championship. Armstrong is proud to have won the championship. He doesn’t care where he needs to go he will defend the championship.

3.) WCW World Tag Team Champions Terry Gordy and Steve Williams cut a promo shortly after winning the titles from the Steiner Brothers. Gordy says this isn’t college but rather this is professional wrestling. They can’t wait to get back to Japan to show everyone who the real champions are.

4.) Jim Ross had an interview with Harley Race regarding Vader and Sting. Race says that the end of Sting comes in less than twenty-four hours. Race says that Vader already is the WCW World Champion in the mind of most people. Harley says that the days of Sting being in pro wrestling is limited to one more day. Race is confident that Vader will be the WCW World Champion.

5.) Page works over Sting to start the main event but that offense is short-lived as Sting takes Page over with an arm drag and backdrop. Sting goes for the Stinger Splash but Page bails to the floor. Page pulls Sting to the floor and Sting hammers away on Page. They return to the ring where Sting takes Page over with an arm drag. Sting drives Page gut first into the corner out of a power slam position and hits the Stinger Splash. Sting locks in the Scorpion Death Lock to win the match. (1/2*. Squash. Who would have thought they’d had incredible matches in ’98 and ’99.)

Final Thoughts:
Literally just a recap of what is going on before Great American Bash. I wasn’t entertained with what was provided this week.

Thanks for reading.
