World Championship Wrestling presents Worldwide
Date:
4/28/1996
From: Orlando, FL

Matches:
1.) Craig Pittman & Joey Maggs defeated State Patrol
2.) Road Warriors defeated Max Muscle & Buddy Valentine
3.) Chris Benoit defeated Brad Armstrong
4.) One Man Gang defeated Bart Sawyer
5.) Big Bubba Rogers defeated Eddie Jackie
6.) WCW Tag Team Champions Sting & Lex Luger defeated Blue Bloods (Dave Taylor & Earl Robert Eaton)

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) There’s a video of WCW World Champion Ric Flair with Elizabeth and Woman cutting a promo on Randy Savage. Flair credits Woman for helping to destroy Savage. Elizabeth says the truth hurts sometimes when she said that she deserves half of everything. Liz is using a card to pay for stuff in Randy’s name.

2.) Benoit works over Armstrong in the corner, but Armstrong comes back with an arm drag. Armstrong keeps an arm bar on Benoit for a few moments. Benoit tries for a powerbomb, but Armstrong counters with an arm drag. Benoit rams Armstrong into the corner head first. Benoit comes out of the corner and is met with a backdrop. Benoit drops Armstrong over the top rope gut first. Benoit focuses his attack on Armstrong’s midsection. Benoit yanks Armstrong down by his hair to maintain control of the contest. Armstrong gets a sunset flip for a two count. Benoit slams Armstrong and heads to the top rope. Benoit misses a diving headbutt. Armstrong stops Benoit with a strike to the midsection followed by a dropkick. Benoit finishes Armstrong off with a dragon suplex. (*1/4. Not too bad of a short contest as it was mostly a extended showcase for Benoit, which it should have been.)

3.) Eaton and Luger start off with Luger ramming Eaton in the corner and rubbing his eyes on the ropes. Luger backdrops Eaton and keeps arm control. Sting tags into the match to keep wrist control. Sting shoulder blocks Eaton to the floor. Taylor has a full nelson on Sting, but Sting puts a hammerlock on briefly. Taylor uppercuts Sting several times and strikes in the corner. Taylor slams Sting and Eaton tags in to choke Sting over the ropes. Regal gets a cheap shot in from the floor. Sting hammers away on Taylor and Eaton tags in. Eaton quickly tags Taylor back in but they collide. Luger tags in and cleans house with slams and clotheslines. Luger powerslams Taylor for a two count. All four men are in the ring at this point. Luger decks Regal off the apron and puts Taylor in the Torture Rack after Regal accidentally punched Taylor, while Sting punched Eaton to win the match. (*1/4. The Blue Bloods had zero chance here and it was another extended squash for the tag champs.)

Final Thoughts:
There wasn’t a lot going on for the most part as the feature matches were rather weak and there wasn’t much advancement going on.

Thanks for reading.
