Stetson and Braun need to get some steam in the promotion and cheating to win here works very well. It’s even better that they pinned Freddie instead of McKenzie largely because it would be expected for McKenzie to lose the match for his team. Freddie losing in his return match from injury should give Stetson ammo to lead to a potential singles match between the two for Freddie to get some revenge.)
Jay Freddie cuts a promo after the match and says they will be back in Fulton next month. Freddie says next month he’s going to team with Ichiban to wrestle Stetson and Braun.

(**. A decent match, but it didn’t feel like it ever really got going too much out of first gear. Stone came across well while Backlund wasn’t all that impressive in this showing.)

Kennedy heads to the top rope and hits a leaping clothesline on Shi, who is held by Holliday and Brute. Kennedy continues to stomp the referee and they force a count by the referee. (**1/4. The action was okay, but they are setting up another match between these teams. It’s a little weird that the heels would be seen as the winners due to the fact the referee was knocked out. In any event, a third match is likely going to happen and since the beating took place it’s got to have a stipulation attached to it. I’d put them in a cage, personally. Black and Yellow continues to do a good job and Kennedy worked fairly well, too.)

Freeze is taken down with a botched neckbreaker combo, but Cooper covers Freeze to win the match. (*. The finish being messed up is a bit unfortunate. I am surprised that Freeze would take the loss here, honestly. They can do a return match with Ephex actually being Don’s partner. Freeze is incredibly over and whenever they start to introduce titles Freeze would be a great option to be in the finals to allow a heel to be champion at first.)

Beast gets a microphone and puts over the crowd for coming to the show. Beast gets the crowd to call McCoy a chicken. Beast challenges McCoy to a match next month at the same venue for 1UP. A shorter match than I was expecting and kind of a lackluster match, really. They are putting a lot of heat on Hired Inc., which is a good plan.) After the match, Black & Yellow storm the ring to make the save for Mattick.
They announce that Black & Yellow retroactively won their tag match by disqualification.

Skyros locks in the Sharpshooter forcing Ando to submit in the middle of the ring. (**1/2. A solid match, but not something worthwhile to go out of your way. Skyros needs some stronger opponents to have banger matches, and soon enough that will happen come their June show when Eddie Edwards is booked. That should be an interesting match to truly gauge where Skyros is amongst some of the best in-ring. Skyros is establishing himself against former 2CW names in SWB and now Ando. It’s an effective way to go to make him a viable name for the promotion in the early stages of the promotion.)
Final Thoughts:
I can’t recommend going out of your way to watch this show on YouTube. 1UP Wrestling isn’t producing bad shows by any means, but there hasn’t been that one memorable match from them thus far. There’s plenty of interesting workers in the promotion and seeing them gradually improve over time will be fun to see. However, this is a skippable show.
Thanks for reading.
