Backstage, Stone Mountain cuts a promo stating that he’s back. Mountain warns Jeff G. Bailey to be afraid, be very afraid.
Chance Martin notes that their latest show was cancelled because of poor weather, but we’ve still got some action to see.
Opening Contest: Onyx vs. Jorge Estrada vs. Dango: Onyx clotheslines Dango, but Estrada shoulder blocks Onyx. Dango clotheslines Estrada over the top to the floor. Onyx dropkicks Dango from behind to send Dango over the top to the floor. Onyx baseball slides to the floor and is double teamed. Dango kicks Estrada followed by an overhand strike to the back. Dango sends Estrada into the corner, but Onyx nails Dango with a clothesline. Estrada boots Onyx in the corner and delivers another clothesline. Dango hits a belly to belly suplex on Estrada. All three men trade pin attempts. Dango slams Onyx and hits a springboard moonsault for a two count. Estrada covers Onyx for another two count. Dango takes Estrada down with a dragon screw leg whip. Dango keeps a chin lock on Dango, but Onyx breaks the cover. Estrada works over Dango with a few strikes, but runs into a double boot. Onyx misses a splash in the corner and crashes to the mat. Estrada breaks the cover by stomping Dango over the back. Estrada elbow strikes Dango and hits a snap suplex for a two count. Onyx clotheslines Estrada. Dango takes Onyx down for another near fall. Estrada is double clotheslined in the corner and worked over by Dango and Onyx. Dango hip tosses Estrada and heel kicks Onyx. Dango hits a bridging back suplex on Estrada for a two count. Onyx gets a near fall on Dango. Estrada elbows Onyx coming out of the corner, but Dango breaks the cover by Estrada. Onyx powerslams Estrada coming off the ropes for a near fall. Dango leg drops Onyx for a two count as Estrada breaks the cover. Onyx knee lifts Dango coming off the ropes. Estrada leg drops Onyx on the arm, but Dango breaks the cover quickly. Onyx is double teamed with a double leg lock. Dango goes to the top, but Estrada shake the ropes. Onyx pulls Estrada off Dango and hits a suplex. Dango bulldogs Estrada and slams Onyx. Dango heads to the top rope hitting a splash on Onyx for a two count as Estrada made the save. Estrada pummels Dango with strikes and delivers a few strikes in the corner before driving Dango down to the mat face first. Estrada plays to the crowd and Onyx steals the victory by pinning Dango. (*1/2. The structure for this felt really off to me. It felt clunky and almost as if the three guys didn’t know how to move around in the ring for a triple threat match. Chance on commentary didn’t know the rules of the match either, so I feel like the organization of the whole segment was off. Dango came across as the most seasoned of the three so naturally he lost.)
Jeff G. Bailey and Crowbar arrived to the home of Thunder’s mother. Bailey enters the home under the guise of being Thunder’s friend. Thunder’s mom happens to be on the phone with Thunder. Bailey and Crowbar say to tell Thunder that they are looking at the house. Bailey takes the phone and tells Thunder to calm down. Bailey assures Thunder they will talk soon. She says they are welcomed back to the home at any time. Bailey feels like the home is his own.
Backstage, David Young cuts a promo saying that people are saying he’s not good enough and he wants to know what he has to do. Young is here to tell us one thing. It doesn’t matter who Bad Attitude has to beat. Young doesn’t care if he has to beat Rock ’n Roll Express they will get respect. Rick Michaels chimes in and says they have been champions for a short time and nobody wants to take them seriously. Rick says they took the ball and ran with it. Rick mentions they reclaimed the tag titles just as they said they would. Rick mentions beating guys from ECW and the New South to keep the tag titles. They have attitudes, and theirs are bad.
Second Contest: Puck Dupp vs. Jesse Taylor: Dupp works over Taylor as the match is joined in progress. Dupp dropkicks Taylor in the corner and continues with strikes. Taylor shoves Dupp over the top to the floor. Dupp drops Taylor over the top rope and gets a near fall. Taylor decks Dupp with a clothesline. Taylor kicks Dupp on the mat and deliver a leg drop on the groin. Taylor heads to the top rope delivering an axe handle. Taylor slams Dupp and goes to the top rope again. Taylor misses a leg drop attempt and rolls to the floor. Dupp takes Taylor out with a corkscrew dive on the floor. Taylor sends Dupp into the corner and tries for a belly to belly suplex, but Dupp counters with a side Russian leg sweep. Dupp covers, but Taylor kicks out at two. Taylor counters a slam attempt, but Dupp drives Taylor down with a reverse DDT for the clean win. (*1/2. This is an interesting decision. I thought Taylor may be in line for a push with his apparent association with Bailey, but that may not be the case after all. Dupp wasn’t too bad.)
Backstage, Romeo Bliss cuts a promo on Terry Knight. Romeo says that Knight was on the top of his game, but Romeo claims his world wasn’t rocked. Romeo showed the women how he gives the women the “O”. Chance chimes in and says that Romeo’s promos will be censored from moving forward due to his words and body motions.
In the ring, Rick Michaels cuts a promo on Thunder, who is also in the ring. Michaels talks about a unification title match with Thunder taking place tonight. Michaels isn’t coming out here looking like a fool and isn’t going to lay down for nobody. Michaels tells Behrens and Chance can hold up his title and proceeds to spit on it. Michaels throws the title down and calls it garbage. Michaels says the title was built on NCW and not NWA. Michaels calls the NWA a piece of shit and he’s not laying down for nobody. (This is basically their version of Douglas in ECW throwing down the title). Michaels says they are here to gain their tag titles.
Backstage, Chance Martin reveals that there will be a tournament held for the NWA Georgia Heavyweight Championship.
Backstage, Jeff G. Bailey calls Chance a coward for not getting in the ring with him. Jesse Taylor is with Bailey. Bailey is an attorney and agent not a wrestler. Bailey is going to end Stone Mountain’s career. Bailey notes that K-Krush left the arena without him and knows that Krush didn’t mean to punch him. Bailey berates Taylor for not using a steel chair. Bailey tells Taylor that he’s lost four matches in a row. Bailey tells Taylor to listen to him and he’s a great athlete. Bailey believes he can take Taylor to the top if he listens to him. Bailey proclaims he’s still the man in NCW because he never tells a lie.
Main Event: Ruckus vs. Toad in a hardcore match: Ruckus avoids a chair shot and tosses Toad with a suplex. They go to the floor where Ruckus sends Toad into the railing. Ruckus continues with right hands on the floor. Ruckus sends Toad into the railing and chokes Toad. Ruckus smashes Toad with a chair shot. The fans want blood. Ruckus pummels Toad with strikes over the railing. Toad clubs Ruckus over the back and kicks Ruckus to the mat. Toad chops Ruckus a few times. Ruckus ducks a clothesline and tries for a suplex, but Toad elbows free. Ruckus nails Toad with a clothesline. Ruckus stomps Toad on the mat to maintain the advantage. Ruckus sends Toad through the ropes to the floor. Ruckus leaps off the apron to hit a diving headbutt on Toad. Ruckus flips the ring steps and tosses Toad into the steps. Ruckus chokes Toad on the steps. Ruckus heads to the top rope, but is stopped by Toad with right hands. Toad bulldogs Ruckus off the middle rope to the canvas. The fans aren’t buying into Toad. Toad keeps control with stomps and taunts the crowd. Toad chops Ruckus in the corner followed by strikes. Toad keeps Ruckus on the mat with a sleeper as the show goes to commercial.
Ruckus hits a fisherman suplex for a two count. Toad low blows Ruckus to regain the advantage. Toad kicks Ruckus, but Ruckus fights back with a DDT onto a steel chair. Toad kicks Ruckus and delivers a flatliner. Toad lays the chair over Ruckus and heads to the top rope. Ruckus avoids a moonsault and Toad lands on the chair. Ruckus waits in the corner and delivers a thrust to the throat. Ruckus backdrops Toad and continues with a clothesline. Ruckus sends Toad into the corner and delivers a shoulder block. Ruckus heads to the middle rope hitting a splash for a two count. Toad punches Ruckus in the corner. Ruckus plants Toad with a pump handle slam. Ruckus heads to the top hitting a diving headvutt across the ring and pins Toad for the win. (*. Ruckus is great and I find him to be very enjoyable. Toad wasn’t a viable opponent for Ruckus as nobody bought into him.)
Ricky Morton cuts a promo on Bad Attitude in an empty arena. Morton says that Rock ’n Roll Express are coming to NCW to take them on. Morton says that Rick Michaels is trying to become a top tag team. Morton reminds Michaels they’ve done it six times. Morton says people ask why they aren’t on WWF or WCW TV. Morton says they’ve done things the hard way. Morton promises that Michaels and David Young will find out why they have been six-time tag team champions.
Final Thoughts:
This week the in-ring action was not very good. I am excited to see Morton and Gibson in Wildside as I tend to enjoy the Rock n Roll Express no matter their age. However, this week gets a thumbs down from me.
