Bliss spikes Gray with a piledriver to win the match. (*1/2. I wasn’t expecting Bliss to win here since Gray got an entrance and Bliss didn’t. Bliss being censored sucks for his character because his crudeness is what people love. The censorship is dumb since the show airs at 2:30am for the local channel they are. The announcers make sure to bring that up seemingly once a show.)
Jeff G. Bailey is in the ring with his group saying that AJ Styles finally has to wrestle a man. Bailey says that Onyx is the real Rookie of the Year and tonight he’ll prove it by winning the NWA Wildside TV Championship. Bailey continues to hint that Styles and Steve Martin are lovers. Bailey promises that Onyx will put Styles down for the three count. Styles comes out and gets the crowd to chant for NCW. Styles confronts Onyx saying he doesn’t know why Onyx is hanging out with a bad crowd. Onyx seems to be taking in the words, but decks Styles.

Styles is triple teamed and the referee calls for the bell. Golden and Onyx back elbow Styles to the mat and Styles is stomped by three men. Jorge Estrada runs into the ring to make the save. Estrada punches Onyx in the corner while Golden beats on Styles. Bailey cheap shots AJ. Estrada is overcome by the numbers and is double teamed. Estrada ducks a double clothesline and hits a double clothesline of his own. Estrada slams Golden and Onyx. Styles drops Golden with a few strikes. Styles and Estrada send the heels to the floor following dropkicks to end the segment. (**. Onyx looked better in there than his matches earlier in Wildside. Styles isn’t going to the lost the title to Bailey’s group as long as they have two titles, I think. If the heels have all the power, it kind of kills the angle. So, Styles being the one saving grace for the moment allows for the heat to continue.)
Backstage, Bill Behrens is chatting with Rock N Roll Express, but we can’t hear what they are talking about.
Main Event: NWA Wildside Tag Team Champions Bad Attitude (Rick Michaels & David Young) vs. Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson): Michaels is selling his left leg injury. Michaels and Morton kickoff the main event, which is for the tag titles. Michaels is protecting his left knee from being a focus of attack by Morton. Morton backs Michaels into a corner and accidentally knocks Gibson off the apron. Gibson holds Michaels and Morton yanks Young into the ring. Young sends Morton into Gibson and Gibson is knocked off the apron. Gibson tags into the match against Michaels. Michaels shoulder blocks Gibson, but Gibson comes back with a hip toss and Young tags into the match. Gibson backs Young into a corner and delivers a few strikes. Young pummels Morton with strikes in the corner. Michaels does the same to Gibson. Michaels and Young are sent into each other. Gibson hits Michaels on the knee with a chain. Express hit a double dropkick and pin Michaels to win the tag titles. After the match, Morton and Gibson beatdown Young. Behrens slides a chair into the ring. Morton tries to use a chair, but Romeo Bliss slides into the ring to make the save with a chair. (**. Honestly, the work on Michaels knee was rather boring and not all that interesting. The title change is shocking and I was not expecting it to happen. Express feuding with Bad Attitude is probably more interesting than New South. It just seems as if they switch plans often right now.)
Bill Behrens announces that on April 1st there will be a tag match. Instead of the New South, Bad Attitude will wrestle Rock N Roll Express instead.
Backstage, Steve Martin and Al Getz are talking when Bill Behrens enters the scene. Behrens talks about getting Getz an NWA shirt. Behrens heard Steve insult one of the NWA titles held by TJ Gray. Behrens doesn’t like the insults and praises Getz. Behrens knows that Steve has a lot of pride with NCW, but he needs to swallow the pride a little bit. Steve says Behrens is acting like he didn’t have anything to do with it. Behrens notes that Jerry Lynn and the Hardy Boys are rumored to be coming back into Wildside. Behrens reveals that Spunk Myer is coming into the company. Steve isn’t thrilled about it, while Getz is excited because he’s a kiss ass.
Final Thoughts:
There was some better action this week compared to last week. The tag title change was unexpected, but for some reason I’m thinking the Rock N Roll Express aren’t going to be at the April supercard event. They need to be faces in the company. It seems as if a few people are not being presented correctly to make this NCW vs. NWA angle continue along. I’m not sure when it ends, but hopefully it doesn’t last too long.
Thanks for reading.
