4.) Legion Of Doom defeated Peter Motts & Chris Duffy

6.) Nailz defeated Tony Roy

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Bobby Heenan is happy because today they will be announcing the main event for SummerSlam and Heenan knows that it’s going to be WWF World Champion Randy Savage defending against Ric Flair. Monsoon reminds Heenan that last year it was a handicap match. Heenan thinks in order to be fair to Flair, that Flair needs to be in the main event.

2.) Natural Disasters cut a pre-tape promo on Money Inc. Earthquake says they are going to catch the champions and win the titles. Typhoon says they are going to take the titles, their pride and their money.

3.) WWF Update hosted by Lord Alfred Hayes talks about SummerSlam taking place in London. Hayes notes that Wembley Stadium sold out in ten hours, but luckily the show will air on PPV in the United States. There is footage of the publicity in England about how popular the WWF is there and people camping out for tickets. Hayes announces the main event will be WWF World Champion Randy Savage defending against the Ultimate Warrior. Savage and Warrior will have a face to face confrontation next week on Wrestling Challenge.

4.) Bobby Heenan is not thrilled about this and believes that Flair has gotten screwed over again. Heenan notes that Flair was cheated at WrestleMania VIII and he’s been cheated again.

5.) A vignette promoting Razor Ramon is shown. Ramon is at the beach and talks about the relaxing sound that waves make. Ramon says there are people in the WWF are holding him down and that he’s a cockroach. Ramon thinks people in WWF are afraid of him, but there’s nothing to be afraid of. Ramon asks if they think he’s some kind of bully. Ramon wants fame, fortune and the WWF title. There’s nothing to be scared of unless you try to stop him. Then, they are going to have a big problem. Ramon will kick your stinking face into the sand.

6.) During LOD’s match, Rocco, being mouthed by Paul Ellering, simply said “What a rush!”

7.) Mean Gene conducted an interview with Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect on the podium. Flair looks angry likely due to the decision to not have him in the main event at SummerSlam. Gene brings up that topic and says they missed the boat. Perfect calls Gene a dweeb and says just because they didn’t play political ball with Tunney they’ve been messed around with since day one. Perfect recalls all the misdeeds towards Flair. Perfect recalls Flair winning the Royal Rumble despite being the 3rd entrant. Perfect promises that talent always prevails and that Flair will regain the WWF World Championship or his name isn’t Mr. Perfect. Flair chimes in and asks Gene what he’d do if someone with a painted face took your spot. Flair proclaims he’s the real world champion and not Ultimate Warrior. Flair is pissed at they’re not even on the card for SummerSlam. Flair says there’s no reason to be mad. Flair wonders if they think they can put him on the back burner and it will stick, but they won’t. Flair says he’ll get revenge on Warrior and he’ll win the title back from Savage. Flair declares that he’ll be the champion again. Perfect says that Savage is riding on a high, but he’ll fall. Flair tells Savage that he’s got to learn to love it.

8.) WWF World Champion Randy Savage cut a pre-tape about the face to face next week with Warrior. Savage tells warrior to not blink because he’s got something to say. Warrior also provided a pre-tape promo and says he’s ready to listen and says if it’s anything of value then he’ll use his eyes. Warrior says Savage will have no choice but to listen to him.

Final Thoughts:
Honestly, it seems like a pivot to Savage/Warrior to sellout Wembley, but it’s likely they didn’t need to do that since the venue sold out without the announcement of the main event to begin with. Warrior/Savage is probably the better and bigger match for the event, though. It’s a little crazy that Flair isn’t even on the card, though. SummerSlam is likely going to be completely different from what we’ve gotten on TV over the past several months and it will be interesting how we get there.
