5.) Barry Windham, Dustin Rhodes & Ricky Steamboat defeated WCW United States Champion Rick Rude, WCW Television Champion Steve Austin & WCW Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson by disqualification

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Chip and Taylor kickoff the tag match. Chip sends Taylor into the ropes, but is met with a shoulder block and Taylor taunts the crowd. Taylor backs Chip into a corner and delivers a right hand. Taylor monkey flips Chip out of the corner, but Chip lands on his feet and pummels Taylor with strikes. Chip monkey flips Taylor out of the corner and tags in Champion. Champion shoulder blocks Taylor for a two count. Valentine enters the match and puts a headlock on Champion. Champion hip tosses Valentine, but Valentine delivers a forearm strike and chops. Taylor tags back into the match and clubs Champion over the back. Champion sunset flips Taylor for a two count. Taylor stops Champion with a jawbreaker. Champion strikes Taylor and decks Valentine off the apron. Taylor knocks Champion to the floor where Valentine sends Champion into the ring post. Taylor strikes Champion in ring, but runs into a boot in the corner. Champion strikes Taylor a few times and Chip tags in to deliver strikes. Chip backdrops Taylor coming off the ropes. Chip powerslams Taylor coming off the ropes, but Valentine elbow drops Chip as Champion caused a distraction. Taylor covers and pins Chip for the win. (*1/2. The crowd had some good energy throughout the match. Chip and Champion were not nearly as bad as I thought they’d be. The finish is a bit cheap, but it’s typical early 90s. This was better than expected.)

2.) Ricky Steamboat tells people to either stop using steroids or say no to steroids.

3.) Eric Bischoff hosts the WNN. Bischoff talks about Nikita Koloff intentions in regards to the WCW World Champion Sting. We see more footage from Superbrawl ’91 where Koloff decked Sting with a chain. Sting attacked Koloff backstage. We see several more clips of Koloff attacking Sting. Bischoff notes the intentions were clear back then. Koloff wants to talk to Sting and has a personal message for him. Bischoff continues to promote that we need the actions to be clarified. Bischoff thinks Koloff deserves the benefit of the doubt.

4.) JT Southern appears on the podium after Hammer’s victory. Southern wants to know why Hammer doesn’t play his guitar. Southern doesn’t believe Hammer can play guitar, sing or wrestle. Southern doesn’t think Hammer deserves to be in WCW. Hammer yells that he wants to know who Southern is even though Southern said his name already. Southern plays guitar to drown out Hammer’s talking. Hamer leaves the ring, but is stopped by security.

5.) Brickhouse Bonus focuses on WCW United States Champion Rick Rude and his feud with Ricky Steamboat. Brickhouse goes through the history and how Steamboat bounces back each time. Steamboat has vowed to get the championship. Brickhouse thinks their battle will look more like a street fight when they meet again.

6.) Windham and Anderson kickoff the main event. Anderson backs Windham into a corner to deliver shoulder rams. Anderson tries for a boot, but Windham blocks it and atomic drops Anderson into the corner. Windham sits Anderson on the top rope, but Austin gets involved. Windham decks Anderson to the mat after Rhodes strikes Anderson from the apron. Windham is backed into the corner by Austin, but Rhodes tags in and puts a headlock on Austin. Rhodes shoulder blocks Austin, but is met with a boot to the midsection. Austin elbows Rhodes, but Rhodes knee drops Austin on the back before putting a hammerlock on Austin. Austin drops Rhodes with a clothesline. Austin misses an elbow drop and Rhodes strikes Austin. Austin avoids a monkey flip, but is clotheslined off the middle rope. Steamboat tags into the match and Austin is double teamed. Steamboat dropkicks Austin. Austin tags in Rude into the match. Rude forearms Steamboat a few times to maintain the advantage followed by a knee lift and forearm strikes. Rude ducks a clothesline, but Steamboat delivers a few chops to send Rude over the top to the floor. Steamboat puts a wrist lock Rude to maintain control. Windham axe handles Rude from the top rope. Windham strikes Rude and keeps wrist control before arm dragging Rude to the mat. Windham fights of the corner pummeling Austin to break free. Anderson knee lifts Windham from the apron allowing Austin to elbow drop Windham followed by a vertical suplex.

Anderson tags into the match and knee drops Windham on the mat. Windham counters a neckbreaker with a backslide for a two count. Austin returns to the match and works over Windham with an elbow strike as Windham comes off the ropes. Rude strikes Windham a few times in the midsection and knee strikes Windham. Rude backdrops Windham coming off the ropes and taunts the fans. Rude rams Windham into the corner followed by a right hand. Windham strikes Rude a few times and runs the ropes before colliding with Rude. Windham covers Rude for a near fall. Anderson tags in and knee lifts Windham. Austin axe handles Windham while Windham had an abdominal stretch on Anderson. The referee was distracted by Dangerously. Anderson leaps off the middle rope, but Windham nails Anderson with a boot. Rude enters the match, but Steamboat gets the hot tag. Steamboat clotheslines Rude followed by an overhand strike. Steamboat decks Rude to the mat and is fired up. Steamboat scoop slams Rude and heads to the top rope hitting Rude with an axe handle. Steamboat climbs to the top rope again and hits a crossbody, but Austin whacks Steamboat over the back with a chair shot to cause a disqualification. After the match, Steamboat jabs Rude with a chair shot and does the same to Anderson causing the heels to bail to the floor. (***. The continued trend of some quality action between the Dangerous Alliance and seemingly anyone associated with the WCW upper midcard.)

Final Thoughts:
A decent show this week. JT Southern didn’t come across all that well, but the action overall kept me entertained.
