Angle Developments/Notes:

2.) Badd won his enhancement match in dominating fashion after a left hook strike.

3.) Super Invader wins his enhancement match following a powerbomb.

4.) Ron Simmons takes care of business in his enhancement match following a spinebuster.

5.) We see footage from the Clash on June 22nd and Ross tells us we’re going to hear from the Steiner Brothers on Saturday Night.

6.) Jim Ross notes that Barry Windham lost the WCW Television Championship to Steve Austin on WCW Worldwide. We see footage of the title change taking place. They also show footage of Paul E. Dangerously being interviewed by Jesse Ventura. It is noted that Larry Zbyszko is gone from the Dangerous Alliance and Dangerously is looking for a replacement. Dangerously declares the issue as being personal now and not just business. Dangerously hates Zbyszko.

7) Missy Does The Mail hosted by Missy Hyatt is up next. Hyatt is sporting darker hair than she had in recent weeks. Hyatt talks about Paul E. Dangerously scouting for new members since Zbyszko left the group. Nikita Koloff had been offered a spot in the group, but on WCW Worldwide Koloff recently declined the offer to Madusa. Koloff wants the WCW United States Championship that Rick Rude holds. Hyatt says that Rude was very upset with Koloff’s comments towards Madusa and on Saturday Night there will be footage of a confrontation between the two.

8.) Hayes and Smothers kickoff the main event with Hayes ramming Smothers into the corner, but Smothers delivers a strike. Hayes ducks a clothesline and nails Smothers with a clothesline. Garvin decks Smothers from the apron to assist Hayes. Smothers wants a piece of Garvin and Garvin is tagged into the match. Smothers goes after Garvin with strikes, but Garvin comes off the ropes to deliver a forearm strike. Hayes leaps off the top onto Smothers arm. Garvin enters and keeps a wrist lock. Hayes and Garvin continue to work over Smothers arm. Smothers knee lifts Garvin and delivers a strike to the back. DDP enters and Garvin arm drags DDP. DDP decks Garvin with a clothesline leading to a near fall. DDP continues with elbow drops for a two count. DDP rams Garvin into Smothers boots in the corner. Smothers enters and strikes Garvin before heading to the top rope and axe handles Garvin. Smothers rams Garvin into DDP’s boot and elbows Garvin to the mat. DDP tries for a cover, but Garvin kicks out. DDP chokes Garvin over the top rope and drops Garvin over the top by leaping over the top rope to the floor. DDP keeps a sleeper on Garvin, but doesn’t a submission.

Garvin elbows DDP, but is taken down to the mat. Smothers enters without a tag and keeps a chin lock on Garvin as the referee didn’t see the cheating. Smothers keeps the sleeper on Garvin for a few moments. Garvin fights free with strikes, but a knee lift by Smothers stops the momentum. Smothers drives Garvin down with a backbreaker and misses a splash off the middle rope as Garvin got his feet up. DDP gets tagged into the match and cuts Garvin off from tagging out. Garvin knee lifts DDP coming off the ropes. Smothers tags back into the match. Garvin shoulder blocks Smothers to the mat and tags in Hayes. Hayes punches DDP several times followed by an elbow. Hayes decks Smothers to the floor. Garvin tags into the match and kicks DDP leading to a DDT and Garvin pins DDP for the win. (*. A basic match and a weaker main event than usual for WCW TV. The Freebirds feel like a played out act even in 1992, which is a hard thing to accomplish.)

Final Thoughts:
A skippable episode this week for Power Hour. Quite honestly, there wasn’t a feature match that I was overly excited for, but I’m guessing my appreciation for Tracy Smothers is what led me to watch this show.
