Pillman gets a hammerlock on Smothers and they counter each other until Smothers reaches the ropes. Pillman takes Smothers down with a rollup for a two count and Smothers complains that Pillman hooked his tights. Smothers backs Pillman into a corner, but backs off and offers a handshake. They got plenty of time and it was a decent match. Smothers didn’t come across as a serious threat to Pillman, and I think the crowd figured he had no shot. Bill Watts eliminating the top rope rule is going to impact the Light Heavyweight division, but they have a two week grace period to get use to it.)

2.) Brickhouse Bonus is up next. Jack Brickhouse talks about the feud between WCW United States Champion Rick Rude and Ricky Steamboat, who will be competing in a Chicago street fight. Steamboat will team with WCW World Champion Sting. Rude will team with Cactus Jack. Pins don’t count and the only way to win is to keep an opponent down on the mat for ten-seconds.

3.) WCW Magazine hosted by Eric Bischoff is up next. Bischoff promotes the WCW house show in Chicago on June 28th. Bobby Eaton provided a promo with Paul E. Dangerously. Dangerously doesn’t think anyone in Chicago has the guts to see what Eaton is going to do to Larry Zbyszko.

4.) Nikita Koloff won his enhancement match following the Russian Sickle.

5.) Ron Simmons won his enhancement match following a spinebuster. After the match, Harley Race and Super Invader come down to ringside. Race says Simmons may be an All-American and considers himself a tough guy. Race warns Simmons stuck his nose in the wrong persons business and now he’s going to suffer the consequences. Simmons slams Race into the ring from the apron and is attacked by Invader. Race and Invader double team Simmons. Simmons ends up hitting a double clothesline to send the heels reeling to the floor.

6.) WCW Magazine hosted by Eric Bischoff, again. Bischoff promotes the Chicago street fight taking place on June 28th. Cactus Jack cuts a promo about being told that violence gets you nowhere, but they must have forgotten about Chicago. Cactus notes that the rules don’t matter in the street fight. Cactus thinks Sting and Steamboat need another lesson and class will be in session. WCW World Champion Sting and Ricky Steamboat cut a promo. Steamboat talks about Cactus Jack attacking him after his battles with Rick Rude. Steamboat is going to take care of business with Sting. Sting chimes in saying Rude and Cactus like to attack when someone is down, but that’s not happening at the Chicago street fight.

7.) Tom Zenk and Marcus Alexander Bagwell win their enhancement match when Zenk hits Rogers with a superkick and Bagwell pins Starr with a fisherman suplex for the double pin.

8.) Eric Bischoff conducted an interview with WCW World Champion Sting. Bischoff recalls trying to get an update on Sting’s broken ribs not too long ago. Sting is back and taking on all challengers. Sting notes that everyone keeps going after his previously broken rib. Sting is ready to lose his mind on Vader. Sting declares that he’s more ready than he’s ever been for Vader. Sting has a good friend in Nikita Koloff to battle Vader and Super Invader. Sting is looking for Vader and can’t wait to get him.

9.) WCW Light Heavyweight Champion Scott Flamingo cuts a promo bragging about being the champion. Flamingo thinks he is the franchise of WCW. Flamingo promises to be the champion for a long time.

Morton keeps control hitting a snap suplex for a two count. Morton strikes Windham over the back, but Windham strikes Morton into a corner. Windham scoop slams Morton and misses an elbow drop off the ropes. Morton maintains the advantage with an arm bar, but Windham doesn’t submit. Morton arm drags Windham and keeps the advantage even after Windham tried an arm drag. Morton knee drops Windham over the back. Windham scoop slams Morton, but Morton still keeps control of the arm and knee drops Windham.

Windham arm drags Morton again, but Morton refuses to let go of the arm. Morton rams Windham into the corner and continues with right hands. Morton knee lifts Windham in the corner. Windham sends Morton into the corner and sits Morton on the top turnbuckle. Windham hits the superplex and floats over to pin Morton. (*1/2. Morton’s offense was incredibly boring and dull. I think the size difference prevented this from being better than I was hoping it would be.)

11.) WCW Magazine hosted by Eric Bischoff is next. Bischoff once again promotes the house show taking place on June 28th. Larry Zbyszko cuts a promo on Bobby Eaton saying there’s only one way out of it and that is to drop dead. Zbyszko says this is personal now.

Final Thoughts:
While the feature matches were a bit underwhelming, I enjoyed the enhancement matches. So, I’m going to consider this an average episode. The Chicago house show seems like a show I’d attend, too.
