JCW Lunacy
Date: 10/9/2024
From: Detroit, MI
JCW Devil’s Night will take place on October 30th. The show will feature Matt Cross, Matt Riddle, Sami Callihan and the rest of the regular JCW talent shown on Lunacy.
Backstage, Joe Galli interviews Officer Colt Cabana. Cabana says he’s been wrestling in JCW for a long time with the goal to arrest as many juggalos as possible. Cabana reveals that 2 Tuff Tony pouring liquor on fans during his entrance has amounted to a lot of fines and it is time for Tony to pay up.
Earlier today, Johnny Kashmere and the JCW Tag Team Champions Backseat Boys cut a promo. Kashmere notes he’s the original Backseat Boy and he has a lot of fuel left in his veins. He wouldn’t want to go into battle with anyone else. JP chimes in and says Kong and the Giants lack heart. Tommy finishes off saying that Backseat is Back… alright!
MATCH #1: THE MIDWEST MISFITS (MALVADO & RAMIREZ) VS. THE ULTIMATE ELLSWORTH
NOTE: This is the debut of the Midwest Misfits.
FINISH: Ellsworth wins following a big splash to both men.
Bob’s Take: Oddly enough, I do know the Misfits as I saw them compete at a CIW show in Toledo, OH in 2025. I was not expecting to see them in Lunacy. Ellsworth cosplaying as Warrior is fine since it literally takes less than ninety seconds each time he has done it. However, I don’t see this being a regular act on Lunacy.
Match Rating: 1/2*
Backstage, Ultimate Ellsworth cuts a promo about the little taste of destruction he offered to Lunacy. Ellsworth believes his undefeated streak will continue for a long time.
MATCH #2: JCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE BACKSEAT BOYS (JP & TOMMY GRAYSON) & JOHNNY KASHMERE VS. KONGO KONG & REDWOOD GIANTS (KURT & PAUL)
FINISH: Kong pinned Kashmere following a Rikishi Driver.
Bob’s Take: The Backseat Boys and Kashmere were dominated for a good portion of the match until Kashmere hit a low blow and tried to fight back. Kong stopped Kashmere with one move. I feel like this is a bit of a surprise that the tag champs would lose even if they didn’t lose directly. I would have figured a program with the Southern Six, but they may pivot to a feud with the Redwood Giants. Kong is absolutely being setup as a top heel challenger for the JCW Heavyweight Title, which is something I do not hate.

A video package focusing on Simon Gotch is shown. Gotch has been obsessed about becoming the best professional wrestler and doesn’t need a billion dollar company to print it on a shirt. Gotch doesn’t need a particular hold to accomplish pain as he can do it whenever he wants.
MATCH #3: SIMON GOTCH VS. AJ RIDDLE:
FINISH: Gotch forces a submission with a chokehold in a very quick match.
Bob’s Take: It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Gotch destroyed AJ with strikes and showed a good level of intensity. Gotch gave Riddle headgear for the beating, which was nice of him. I like JCW’s approach of quick enhancement matches, because I can see Gotch being a guy to challenge Willie Mack at some point, too. It’s simple and effective booking.

Backstage, Breyer Wellington cuts a promo at a bar complaining about his weak partners that JCW have given him. This week, Wellington will be teaming with Geeves. Geeves believes they will win tonight and takeover the tag team division.
MATCH #4: THE BROTHERS OF FUNSTRUCTION (RUFFO & YABO) VS. BREYER WELLINGTON & GEEVES
FINISH: The clowns win following the Whoop Whoop Driver on Geeves.
Bob’s Take: The antics of the clowns did not entertain me, at all. I don’t know why, but the act doesn’t entertain me. I would have figured I’d enjoy it since I liked Doink in the WWF, but these guys are no Matt Borne, obviously. I never would have thought that Breyer had previously been a major champion for JCW as he’s been presented nowhere near that level in Lunacy. Geeves was sporting a look similar to Jeff Jarrett, which Cardona mentioned on commentary.
Match Rating: DUD
Shaggy’s Spotlight this week is focusing on Madman Pondo.
MAIN EVENT: OFFICER COLT CABANA VS. 2 TUFF TONY
FINISH: Cabana decks Tony with his nightstick as the referee was out of position to win the match.
Bob’s Take: This was not a good match, nor should it be expected to be a good match. Cabana generates good heel heat playing the cop persona in the JCW universe. Tony did a couple of surprising moves such as a heel kick and a springboard moonsault, but there wasn’t much going on here for entertainment.
Match Rating: DUD
Final Thoughts:
This is easily the worst Lunacy episode thus far as there was nothing redeeming in-ring wise. There wasn’t even any angle advancements to promote their feuds going on. It was basically 45-minutes of bad wrestling. Cardona was entertaining on commentary, but that’s about it. I think they could possibly line up challengers in Gotch and Kong for Mack in the coming weeks, so there’s that to be interested in. Hopefully they regain focus next episode.
Thanks for reading.
