ODB tries for a slam, but Love breaks free and Sky spits beer into ODB’s face. Love hits the flatliner for the win. (*. There’s not much to this one. Love picking up the win isn’t a major surprise. I thought ODB would be a bigger focus on the babyface side since Gail left the promotion. I’m not hating the trio of Kip, Sky and Love.)
2.) Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviews Jeff Jarrett in his locker room. Borash talks about comments Kurt Angle made in a UK magazine. Jarrett tells Borash he’s going to the ring to address it right now.
3.) Backstage, ODB wants a match with Love and Sky. Traci Brooks says she’ll give ODB a match if she can find a partner. ODB knows she can find a partner and runs off after grabbing Traci. Traci did say that ODB can’t touch Kong, Wilde and Roxxi because they are having a title match at Bound For Glory.
4.) Jeff Jarrett makes his way down to the ring to cut a promo. Jarrett has the UK magazine with him and talks about how people think Jarrett will regret getting in the ring with Angle and he doesn’t stand a chance. Jarrett says those people who doubt him don’t know him. Jarrett talks about his back being against the wall since he started in the business. Jarrett notes that people always said he was too small to be successful. Jarrett talks about hundreds of people going into the ground trying to compete with the guys up north (WWE), but they don’t know Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett claims TNA has never been stronger than it is right now. Nothing and no one will take down TNA. Jarrett brings up Angle making some harsh comments about TNA while in UK promoting the company. Jarrett says Angle brought up dirty laundry and two people can play that game. Jarrett reads the paper where Angle is quoted as saying he’s considering his options when his contract expires next year. Jarrett reads Angle putting over Vince McMahon for being intelligent and most successful promoter. Angle talked about having a father/son bond with McMahon and nobody can break that. Jarrett recalls Angle thanking Jarrett for freeing him from living hell. Jarrett didn’t air comments by Angle regarding McMahon, but his judgment has changed now. Jarrett proceeds to air comments Angle made by Angle about McMahon. Angle said McMahon had his head up his own ass and threatened to knockout McMahon. Angle called McMahon an asshole and he will knock McMahon down. Angle considers McMahon to be dead to him and McMahon will kiss his ass in two years from then. Jarrett is taking credit for breaking the father/son relationship. Jarrett is going to kick Angle’s ass so bad that Papa Vince won’t take Angle back.
5.) Backstage, Jeremy Borash runs up to Kurt Angle arriving to the building. Borash reveals to Angle that Jarrett played the promo. Angle can’t believe it and Borash says Cornette wants to see Angle in his office. Angle is mad that all this is happening and he just arrived.
6.) Homicide and Shelley kickoff the tag match. Homicide runs the ropes and hits an exploder suplex. Hernandez tags into the match and back suplexs Shelley followed by a clothesline from Homicide for a two count. Hernandez puts a bearhug on Shelley, but Sabin tags into the match. Sabin collides on a shoulder block attempt and is knocked into the ropes. Hernandez delivers a backbreaker to Sabin for a two count. Hernandez lifts Sabin up for a suplex, but Shelley makes the save. Hernandez hits a double suplex on Sabin and Shelley. Homicide elbow strikes Sabin coming off the ropes for a two count. Shelley knee lifts Homicide from the apron. Sabin suicide dives onto Homicide on the floor. Shelley elbows Homicide in the corner followed by Sabin and a double dropkick. Hernandez chops Sabin and backdrops Sabin coming off the ropes. Hernandez overhead tosses Shelley and press slams Sabin, but Sabin almost counters with a rollup. Hernandez instead hits the Cracker Jack, but Shelley makes the save. Hernandez is kicked by sabin and met with a double superkick to the gut. Shelley knee lifts Homicide and hits a DDT/flatliner combo as Sabin springboard dropkicks Hernandez on the back. Shelley misses a slice bread and Homicide plants Shelley with a cutter. Hernandez is met with a superkick by Sabin. Hernandez dumps Sabin to the apron, but catches Sabin on a springboard attempt to hit a powerbomb for the win. (***. A good TV match with some solid action and had a good pace throughout. LAX going over is not a surprise and it ties into the tag title match well.)
7.) Backstage, Lauren interviews TNA Knockouts Champion Taylor Wilde regarding her title match at BFG. Wilde says she can only go into the title defense and give it all with her heart. There will be no alliances.
8.) TNA Roughcut focuses on Roxxi bleeding at Sacrifice and getting her head shaved. Roxxi is afraid of needles and didn’t want stitches. Roxxi notes that she had to tell her family that in wrestling you have to continue the show.

10.) Backstage, LAX are confronting Jim Cornette. Homicide says they want Beer Money Inc. Homicide warns Cornette that they’ll go to Cornette’s new home in Kentucky and sell stuff at the pawn shop. Cornette asks for some time to try and put something together. Hernandez chimes in and tells Cornette he will do something because he doesn’t want to come back. Kurt Angle enters the scene and Cornette is pissed about Angle making those comments in the magazine. Cornette fines Angle $25k. Angle wants to find Jarrett and shove the fine up his ass.
11.) A vignette promoting Suicide is shown.
12.) Bashir and Rave double team Young in the corner with strikes. Rave knee lifts Bashir, but is sent shoulder first into the post. Young avoids Bashir in the corner and puts a headlock on until Bashir delivers a back suplex for a two count. Bashir keeps Young on the mat with a sleeper. Rave takes Young down with a tilt a whirl head scissors and drives Young down to the mat keeping an arm bar on Young. Young manages to reach the ropes to break the hold. Young stops Rave with a jawbreaker, but is tripped by Bashir. Bashir holds Young to allow Rave to deliver strikes. Rave leg sweeps Bashir. Young clotheslines Rave several times followed by a scoop slam for a two count. Rave misses a running knee strike in the corner. Young boots Bashir followed by a scoop slam. Young misses a top rope moonsault attempt. Bashir plants Young with a DDT and yells at the referee Shane. Bashir covers and pins Young. (*. The finish felt a bit weird as Bashir stalled for a moment and still pinned Young. They are clearly teasing an issue between Bashir and Shane.) After the match, Bashir teases hitting Shane, but Shane is ready and they have a standoff.
13.) Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviews Christian Cage, AJ Styles, and Jay Lethal. Cage decides to give Lethal the spotlight. Lethal appreciates the opportunity to compete with them and isn’t going to let them down. Lethal lost to Booker T last week, but knows he took Booker T to his limits. Lethal learned from his mistakes and he’s going to take out a legend tonight. Styles asks Cage if they are cool. Cage tells Styles he’s a champ and is always cool. Styles accepts that answer.
14.) Booker and Lethal kickoff the six man tag. Booker backs Lethal into a corner, but Lethal strikes Booker several times. Booker punches Lethal a few times, but Lethal hip tosses Booker followed by a seated dropkick for a two count. Booker strikes Lethal and keeps wrist control. Booker tags in Ray and Ray delivers a chop to the chest. Ray kicks Lethal in the ribs and overhand strike over the back. Ray chops Lethal in the corner and taunts the crowd. Lethal takes Ray over with a hurricanrana, but Ray decks Lethal with a clothesline. Devon tags into the match and strikes Lethal over the head as the show goes to commercial.
Lethal dropkicks a kneeling Devon for a two count. Lethal tags in Cage and Cage kicks Devon in the ribs followed by chops against the ropes. Cage tries for a reverse DDT, but Devon punches free. Cage counters a reverse DDT and yanks Devon to the mat from behind. Booker tags into the match and misses a clothesline. Cage chops Booker leading to Styles entering the match. Styles splashes Booker in the corner. Styles tags in Lethal and Lethal comes off the top with an axe handle. Lethal continues by chopping Booker, but Booker stops Lethal. Lethal elbows 3D off the apron. 3D pulls Lethal into the post groin first, though. Booker savant kicks Lethal to the mat. Devon chokes Lethal on the mat to maintain the advantage. Devon strikes Lethal to the mat and sends Lethal into the ropes to hit a twisting elbow strike for a two count. Devon controls Lethal on the mat with a sleeper. Devon yanks Lethal to the mat and tags in Brother Ray. Ray elbow drops Lethal on the lower midsection on the mat. Devon elbows Lethal in the corner. Lethal nails Devon with a kick to the head. Cage tags into the match and hammers away on Ray and Devon. Ray nails Cage with a big boot after Cage decked Booker on the apron. Cage double clotheslines 3D.
Cage avoids Ray in the corner, but is met with an elbow strike. Cage punches Ray on the middle rope. Cage hits a top rope hurricanrana for a two count. Styles punches Devon to the floor. Booker nails Lethal with a briefcase shot on the floor to avoid a crossbody. Styles takes out Devon with a crossbody to the floor. Cage avoids a back suplex by Booker. Styles misses a springboard attempt on Ray and collides with Cage instead allowing Booker to pin Cage for the win. After the match, Stylers checks on Cage, but Cage doesn’t seem interested in Styles explaining himself. (***. A solid six man tag match. I thought Lethal was going to eat the pin again, but this was a pleasant surprise to see them advance the tension between Cage and Styles.)
15.) Backstage, Kurt Angle is being held back by security. Angle is pissed about the fine being levied against him and warns that Jarrett can’t hide from him forever. Angle promises to stick the money up Jarrett’s ass when he finds him.
16.) Earlier today, Mike Tenay moderated a segment of point/counterpoint between TNA World Champion Samoa Joe and Sting. Tenay says it is their time to express themselves. Sting talks about WCW dying in 2001 and getting a call five years later, which isn’t accurate. Sting says the kids now don’t have the respect. Joe asks why Sting is so focused about himself and Styles because they are the future. Sting’s issue is the disrespect and doesn’t like Joe trying to take legends out. Joe notes they do the same thing to him. Sting acknowledges there’d be no Sting without Flair and Hogan. The fans made Sting. Joe asks why Sting never shows up to the building. Sting hasn’t been coasting and he’s not going to disrespected. Joe is going to knock Sting off the pedestal and never get up again. Sting is going to walk the aisle at BFG and the time for talking is over. Joe promises to roll Sting out of the arena at BFG.
17.) Lauren interviews Abyss and Matt Morgan about their match at BFG. Lauren talks about how Abyss has been cured for his addiction to pain and has promised to never use weapons. Abyss says Lauren is wrong and the asylum is for crazy people, but he’s not crazy. Morgan just needs Abyss to have his back and they’ll be unbeatable. Morgan isn’t all that concerned about the teams at BFG. Morgan considers Team 3D to be twenty time losers instead of champions. Morgan is going to prove size does matter. Abyss asks Morgan he’ll be a top guy if he completes the match. Morgan assures Abyss he’ll be a top guy and does another eye roll before walking off.
18.) TNA Tag Team Champions Beer Money Inc. and Jacqueline make their way down to the ring to cut a promo. Roode tells the audience they are alive and doing extremely well. Roode talks about Salinas not doing so well and notes nobody has seen or heard from her since. Roode turns his attention to Hector Guerrero, who is at the announcers table and Roode says that is where he belongs. Roode offers an open invite to any tag team in the back or in the world from any company on the planet.
Team 3D music hits and the former champs come out to join the segment. Devon has the microphone and before he can get much out the music of Abyss hits. Matt Morgan and Abyss come out to the aisle to join the segment. However, LAX comes out through their entrance in the crowd to join the segment. Homicide says they have no beef with the other two teams, but now Jim Cornette comes out. Cornette wants to prevent this from blowing up like a meth lab. Cornette announces that the Monsters Ball number one contenders match is out the window because now it will be a four way Monsters Ball for the TNA Tag Team Championships. Beer Money freak out over that announcement. Cornette is confident one of the three teams will beat Beer Money at BFG!
19.) ODB calls Love and Sky skanks before telling them she found a partner for tonight. ODB introduces her partner and tells them to look behind them and meet Rhaka Khan. Love and Sky are a bit surprised by this development.
20.) Love and Sky stall on the floor to start the tag team main event. ODB elbows Sky to avoid a sneak attack and pummels Sky with right hands on the mat. Khan tags into the match, but Sky breaks free and tags out to Love. Sky regroups on the floor as Cute Kip settles them down. Khan pulls Love and Sky into the ring. Khan delivers a double clothesline. Kip gets in the ring to confront Khan. Sky tries to attack, but Khan blocks with a boot and a kick over the back. Khan tags in ODB. Khan chokes Sky in the corner. Love trips ODB and allows Sky to deliver strikes on the mat. Sky overhand strikes ODB before tagging in Love to continue the advantage. Love bites ODB’s forehead and tags in Sky. Sky overhand strikes ODB leading to a near fall. ODB ducks a double clothesline and kicks Sky followed by a clothesline to Love. ODB slaps her thighs and tags in Khan. Khan cleans house delivering kicks to Sky and Love. Khan grabs Sky to deliver a reverse DDT/leg drop combo for the clean win. (*. I’m fairly certain that Khan is romantically involved with Angle at this point, or pretty close to it. The reveal of Khan being the partner didn’t seem to generate a major crowd response.) After the match, Rhino runs into the ring to make the save and decks Kip to the floor.
21.) Mick Foley makes his way to the ring to make his official Impact Zone debut. Foley says it is an honor to stand in the same ring as Cute Kip had just been in moments ago. Foley considers this one of the best nights of his career. Foley thanks the fans for making this an unbelievable night. Foley thanks the founder of TNA Jeff Jarrett for bringing him to the company. Foley says this moment wasn’t possible without Vince McMahon, which gets jeers from the crowd. Foley thanks McMahon for presenting him so many opportunities. Foley considers his departure from WWE to be an easy one.
Kurt Angle makes his way down to the ring to confront Foley. Angle apologizes for ruining Foley’s moment. Angle thinks Jarrett is trying to embarrass him for an interview two years ago and fine him for his magazine comments. Angle reminds us that Jarrett considers Foley to be the greatest addition, but Angle thinks Jarrett is full of crap and the fans are too for buying into it. Angle admits he did lose everything. Angle did lose the TNA World Championship and his gold medal. Angle also lost his wife, Karen. Angle isn’t the only one to lose his wife (yikes). Angle asks what did Foley ever do in the business. Angle takes credit for carrying TNA on his back for two years. Foley can’t believe Angle would belittle the efforts of TNA World Champion Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. Foley is there for Kurt Angle. Foley notes he didn’t like hearing McMahon in his ear every show telling him to say things over and over again. Foley recalls seeing Edge, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, HHH and John Cena. Foley talks about how Angle has defeated every single one of those names. Foley admits he’s not the biggest addition to TNA, but rather it’s Angle. Foley thinks Angle may be the greatest performer in the history of the business. Foley thinks Angle is, but doesn’t know it. Foley needs to be that close to the action again. Angle says Foley wants to be on commentary, that’s fine because Don West is replaceable. Foley says he needs to be closer than that and be right next to the action. Foley is going to be the special enforcer. Angle is livid to hear that and calls it BS. Foley finishes off saying “it’s true, it’s damn true.” Foley departs the ring while Angle remains livid.
Final Thoughts:
We got some good in-ring action this week and they touched on the necessary feuds to continue the hype for Bound For Glory. I’m kind of indifferent about Foley’s involvement in the Jarrett/Angle feud at this point as Jarrett/Angle doesn’t need the outside involvement to be a big match at the biggest PPV of the year. They have presented Joe horribly for his feud with Sting as Sting continues to make constant valid points and it makes Joe look like a true heel in the angle.
Thanks for reading.
