Angle Developments/Notes:
.) Vince McMahon, Jim Duggan, Hillbilly Jim, Bobby Heean and Jim Duggan are on the panel this week. McMahon notes that they will have an interview between Razor Ramon and Randy Savage from different stations. Heenan doesn’t want to wait for later.
.) Razor Ramon joins the show from WTVJ in Miami. Hillbilly thinks that Ramon is the main reason that Randy Savage isn’t the champion, but Ramon says nobody cares what Jim has to say. Duggan asks if Ramon has ever swallowed a toothpick down his throat. Ramon asks if anyone has shoved Duggan 2×4 down his throat. Heenan and Perfect loved that.
.) The tag match between Money Inc. and Virgil/Tito Santana aired on the WWF Rampage 1992 Coliseum Video release and my review of that can be found HERE.
.) The panel talks about The Comet Kid and his impressive showing from his match on Wrestling Challenge. Heenan suggests that Comet Kid is from outer space.
.) Mean Gene conducted an interview with Shawn Michaels and Sensational Sherri on the podium. Gene says Sherri could win an award for her acting at SummerSlam for pretending to faint. Gene believes that Sherri was trying to get Michaels and Martel to fight over her. Sherri believes that Michaels truly loves her. Michaels says of course he loves and cares about Sherri. Michaels admits that he doesn’t love her as much as Sherri loves him, or how much he loves himself. Michaels talks about what he loves most and that’s the WWF Intercontinental Championship and having the championship be around his waist. Michaels says it is no secret that he’s chased by beautiful women. Michaels says he’s going to chase a real dog in the British Bulldog. Michaels says he’s a wild horse that can’t be rode. Michaels tells Bulldog to be ready to be collared by him. Michaels tells Gene he’ll be calling him the sexiest WWF Intercontinental Champion of all time.
.) Mean Gene hosts WWF Update with the focus being on Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior. Gene talks about interviewing Randy Savage recently and the formation of the Ultimate Maniacs.
.) The panel introduce Randy Savage from WWSB located in Sarasota, FL to give him the same time as Ramon got earlier. Savage has gotten knocked down, but he’s getting back up and continuing to fight. Savage blames Ramon for costing him the WWF World Championship. Savage promises that he’s going to take care of Razor Ramon. Savage considers Perfect to be the ultimate excuse. Savage thinks Heenan is the same situation as Perfect. Heenan chimes in and asks if Savage is so goo then why does Savage have a bad knee and no gold while Ramon has two good knees and all the gold. Duggan defends Savage for still standing despite his injuries.
.) Hart gets a waist lock on Repo until Repo gets to the ropes quickly. Hart arm drags Repo to counter a waist lock. Repo gets a two count following a rollup and taunts the crowd. Repo works over Bret’s left arm, but Hart gets control after strikes. Hart shoulder blocks Repo and runs the ropes before taking Repo down with a backslide. Bret almost wins with another rollup. Bret clotheslines Repo for a two count. Repo bails to the floor to regroup. Bret blocks a boot and leg sweeps Repo to the mat. Bret stomps Repo on the lower midsection, but Repo stops Bret with an eye rake. Repo boots a charging Hart in the corner and taunts the crowd. Repo continues to strike Bret to maintain the advantage. Repo drops Hart over the ropes throat first. Repo chokes Hart on the mat for a moment. Hart sunset flips Repo and manages a two count. Repo rams Hart into the corner a few times followed by several stomps in the corner. Repo sends Hart hard into the corner back first. Repo sets Hart up in the corner and chokes Hart before delivering a stomp to the midsection. Hart fires back with right hands to stagger Repo. Repo tosses Bret through the ropes to the floor. Repo plants Hart with a back suplex for a near fall. Hart takes Repo over with a snap suplex and both men are down. Hart stops Repo with an atomic drop and a clothesline for a two count. Hart ducks a wild strike and gets a rollup for a two count. Hart continues with a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Hart tries for a slam, but Repo counters and tries for a rollup, but Hart held the ropes. Hart rolls through an inside cradle and pins Repo for the win. (*1/2. Repo is an incredibly boring wrestler. I enjoy the character, but his wrestling is not entertaining.)
.) The panel discusses the issues between Papa Shango and Bret Hart. Heenan believes that Shango put a curse on Bret Hart and that’s why Hart lost the WWF Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
.) A video package promoting the return of Bob Backlund is shown.
.) Randy Savage and Razor Ramon join the show via satellite to have a confrontation. Savage says Ramon made a name for himself overnight for costing him the WWF World Championship. Ramon asks what Savage is doing to do about it. Savage says that Ramon’s future plans are in question. Ramon tells Savage that he’s the current and future while Savage is history. Savage promises Ramon that he has bad days ahead of him. Savage is going to give Ramon a gut check. Ramon says he’s easy to find and notes two guys are holding gold which would be Ric Flair and himself. Savage says hurricane Andrew will be considered a dust storm compared to what he’ll do to Ramon. Ramon tells Savage they are only a few miles apart. Savage thinks this is just a test from the big Macho Man up in the sky.
.) The match between Tatanka and The Berzerker was a dark match held at SummerSlam.
.) Berzerker gets control in the test of strength, but Tatanka knocks Berzerker to the floor. They begin to trade strikes in the middle of the ring. They run the ropes and collide on a shoulder block, but neither man budges. Berzerker stops Tatanka with a big boot and covers for a two count. Tatanka ducks a clothesline and holds onto the ropes to avoid a dropkick. Tatanka kicks Berzerker and causes Berzerker to do a split. Berzerker boots Tatanka in the corner and taunts the crowd. Berzerker drives Tatanka down to the mat with a powerslam for a near fall. Berzerker tosses Tatanka over the ropes to the floor. Berzerker rams Tatanka face first onto the ring steps. Berzerker brings Tatanka to the aisle and scoop slams Tatanka on the floor. Berzerker rolls Tatanka into the ring and continues to keep control with stomps. Berzerker traps Tatanka in the ropes and delivers a few kicks. Berzerker knee strikes Tatanka in the ropes, but Tatanka breaks free and backdrops Berzerker over the top to the floor. Tatanka rams Berzerker into the ring steps and delivers another slam on the floor before returning to the ring. Tatanka nails Berzerker with an overhand chop a few times to stagger Berzerker. Tatanka heads to the top rope and leaps off hitting another overhand chop. Tatanka hits a Samoan Drop for the clean win. (*1/2. A good win for Tatanka and do so cleanly was a good decision. The brawling wasn’t too bad.)
.) Jim Duggan is pissed about Randy Savage getting screwed over and he tells Heenan and Perfect that Flair will pay the price for his involvement and he’s sick and tired of hearing about Flair as the champion.
.) Back to the panel, Bobby Heenan wants Sean Mooney to talk about WWF World Champion Ric Flair instead of talking about Crush for the Event Center.
.) Luke and Beau kickoff the tag match with Beau working over Luke in the corner. Beau misses a splash in the corner and Luke pummels Beau with right hands. Beau is sent into Blake and they clothesline Blake over the top to the floor. Blake and Luke enter the match with Blake delivering a backbreaker to gain the advantage, but misses an elbow drop. Blake bails to the floor to avoid Butch’s strike attempt. Beau trips over Butch and Blake is met with a double gut buster. Beau misses a leg drop attempt to help his brother. Butch is knocked to the floor where Beau hits Butch over the back with a scroll. Blake delivers an elbow drop a couple of times before tagging in Beau. Beau double axe handles Butch as Blake held Luke over the top rope. Beau splashes onto Luke’s back. Blake misses a splash off the ropes. Luke crawls towards the corner, but Beau enters and makes the save. Luke is sent hard into the corner and drops to the mat. Beau leaps off the middle rope and axe handles Luke to the mat. Beau continues to deliver right hands in the corner. Luke comes out of the corner to clothesline Beau. Blake and Butch get the hot tag with Butch hammering away on Blake. Butch delivers a bulldog and rams the Beverly’s into each other. Bushwhackers deliver the battering ram to Blake, but Beau makes the save. Luke knocks Beau to the floor. Beau trips Butch and Blake delivers an elbow drop leading to a three count as Beau held Butch’s foot down. (1/2*. Not good. Beverly Brothers are better off not being stuck in these poor matches with the Bushwhackers.)
Final Thoughts:
I’m interested in the Ramon/Savage feud as they’ve done a good job hyping that up. Aside from that there wasn’t much going on here to get excited about.
Thanks for reading.
