Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Joey Styles and Joel Gertner are in the ring to begin the show. Styles hypes up the crowd and Gertner does a poem to get the crowd pumped up. ECW World Champion Jerry Lynn makes his way out to join the segment. Styles gives Lynn props for finally winning the championship. Lynn wants to say one thing, but is cutoff by former ECW World Champion Justin Credible and Francine. Credible wants Lynn to be honest about Anarchy Rulz. Credible had Lynn beat had Francine done her job. Francine can’t believe Credible is saying this. Credible had Rhino take care of RVD and they had Danny Daniels in check. Credible wonders why Francine was even out there. Credible said she only had to take care of New Jack, but she couldn’t get the simple job done. Francine grabs the microphone and thinks that Credible needs to focus on getting the championship. Francine warns Credible that she will not get on her knees for him until that belt is back. Francine tells Credible that the only thing that gets her off is when he has the gold. Credible tells Lynn he hates his guts for taking the belt and Francine away from him. Lynn will give Credible a title match whenever he wants.
Steve Corino joins the segment. Corino is greeted with a warm reception from the crowd. Corino tells Credible he’s a man that can’t laid. Corino says that Lynn is the man who just got made. Lynn thinks that they have an issue to solve and suggests they get it on right now. That leads to Corino and Credible brawling until Rhino GORES Corino and Lynn. Credible hits Corino with a kendo stick several times. Corino has been busted wide open and Credible hits Corino several more times to end the segment.
2.) Simon Diamond comes out and says that he has a problem. Diamond is sad to report that Swinger isn’t here to wrestle tonight. Diamond has to look for a replacement that has the same athletic ability as Swinger. Someone who has the same clean cut good looks as Swinger. Diamond introduces Chris Chetti as his partner tonight.
3.) Chetti and Diamond attack before the bell, but Matthews head scissors Chetti to the mat followed by a clothesline. Diamond is met with a double team suplex. York dropkicks Diamond and Matthews delivers a leg drop. York and Matthews miss on baseball slides and are sent into the guard railing. Chetti hammers away on York trading strikes as is Diamond and Matthews. York and Matthews leap off the stage onto Diamond and Chetti. Diamond knee lifts Matthews from the apron and Chetti superkicks Matthews. Diamond gets a two count after tagging himself into the match. Diamond takes Matthews over with the Simon Series. Chetti tries to steal a pin, but Matthews kicks out. Chetti has Matthews setup for a vertical suplex and drives Matthews down to the mat. Diamond tries to steal a pin, but Chetti pulls his own partner off. Matthews plants them both with a DDT. York gets the hot tag and cleans house with clotheslines. York hits a springboard back elbow on Chetti. Diamond is driven down with the Future Shock. Chetti bails to the floor and ditches the match. Matthews hits a top rope hurricanrana and York hits a top rope elbow drop for the win. After the match, Nova runs down and attacks Chetti to get some revenge. Chetti again bails, but is sent back into the ring by York and Matthews. Security gets involved to keep them apart. Lou E. Dangerously is revealed as a security guy and breaks a phone over Nova’s head. Lou may be managing Chetti now. (*1/2. I wasn’t surprised by the outcome. Anytime you have two guys that don’t normally team together they should probably lose to a regular tag team. I’m glad that Matthews and York earned a win, but considering how Chetti bailed and it turned one-sided, I’m not sure how much it helps them.)
4.) CW Anderson meets with Jazz at ECW New York and wants to put over Jazz. Anderson says that Jazz is almost good enough to be called a pro wrestler. Anderson tells Jazz that her last name doesn’t mean anything like his. Anderson walks off and Jazz is left dumbfounded.
5.) Backstage, Danny Doring and Roadkill cut a promo. Doring says that they have gotten screwed over time and time again. Doring says that the mood is about to change. FBI’s mood is going down and their mood is going up. Roadkill says chickens, as usual.
6.) Doring and Guido kickoff the tag title match. Doring plays to the crowd to get a pop from the crowd. Guido backs Doring into a corner, but they both miss strikes. Guido leaps off the middle rope for a sunset flip managing a two count. Doring gets a head scissors on Guido and they trade a few pin attempts leading to a standoff. Guido kicks Doring and gets a headlock for a moment. Roadkill clotheslines Guido from the apron. Roadkill tags in and drives Mamaluke down with a bulldog. Roadkill hits a wheelbarrow facebuster. Guido enters and is backdropped by Roadkill. Roadkill slams Guido near the corner and goes to the middle rope hitting an elbow drop. Doring leaps off of Roadkill’s back to dive onto the FBI on the floor. Roadkill leaps off the apron to take out Big Sal. Roadkill slams Guido and holds Mamaluke for the Lancaster Lariat of Lust. Doring goes to the top rope, but Mamaluke hits a DDT on Roadkill. Guido shoves Doring off the top and stomps away on Doring a few times. Guido chops Doring in the corner. Doring is met with a leg drop off the top by Guido for a two count. Doring is nailed by a knee lift by Mamaluke and a dropkick by Guido for a two count. Mamaluke has a wrist lock on Doring, but doesn’t get a submission. Mamaluke has a double under hook, but Doring gets out of a rollup. Doring plants Mamaluke with the G-Spot Sweep. Guido and Roadkill get the hot tags with Roadkill cleaning house. Roadkill plants Guido with a TKO and has Mamaluke for a powerbomb and drops Mamaluke to the mat. Mamaluke is sent into the corner and Roadkill delivers a splash. Doring hits the Bareback on Mamaluke. Doring and Roadkill hit a wheelbarrow/top rope leg drop. Sal leg drops Doring and brawls with Roadkill. Sal chokeslams Roadkill. Sal goes to the middle rope and hits a sit down splash on Roadkill. Mamaluke is put on top of Doring and Guido is on top of Roadkill leading to a double pin for the win, (**1/2. A fine TV tag title match and the trend of Doring and Roadkill getting screwed continues. These two teams work pretty well together and the action held my interest. I think the FBI being the tag champs is a great option as they have several teams they can work with and put on some fun matches.)
7.) At ECW New York, the Baldies are attacking someone until Redd Dogg enters the scene. Baldies were attacking Red Dogg. They didn’t show Dogg attacking the Baldies, so who knows what really happened.
8.) New Jack goes right after Credible with a crutch shot to the back. Jack has a trash can and whacks Credible over the head. Jack staples Credible on the forehead. Jack continues to beat on Credible with weapons and Credible has been busted wide open. Jack chokes Credible with a strap. Credible whacks Jack with a trash can lid over the head. Credible hammers away on Jack with right hands in the corner. Credible jabs Jack in the midsection with a weapon and whacks Jack over the head with a kendo stick. Credible hits Jack with a trash can lid. Jack battles back with a clothesline and he’s been busted open, as well. Jack accidentally hits the referee with a weapon. Credible hits the That’s Incredible, but Spike Dudley hits the Acid Drop on Danny Daniels! Credible superkicks Spike! Jack leaps off the top to nail Credible with a chair shot and pins Credible in the middle of the ring. (*1/2. An upset victory for New Jack no doubt about it. It’s an interesting turn of events for Credible to go from champion to losing to New Jack. I doubt this leads to anything for Jack and it was just a matter of a top heel getting his butt kicked by Jack.)
9.) Next week it is announced that Steve Corino gets a title shot against Jerry Lynn.
10.) Backstage, Dawn Marie is with Steve Corino and Jack Victory. Corino tells her that he has one thing on his mind and that’s the ECW World Championship. Corino recalls Lynn writing die in his blood a few months ago. Corino tells Justin Credible that he’ll take him out if he gets in his business. Corino says nothing will stop him from winning the title. Dawn wanted to sleep with Corino, but his focus was elsewhere.
Final Thoughts:
An average episode this week for Hardcore TV with a good TV tag title match and the opening segment being entertaining. Next weeks episode has my interest with Corino getting a title shot against Lynn. Since ECW on TNN no longer exists, I’m sure Hardcore TV will continue to get strong matches. I’m looking forward to that next week.
