WWE Vengeance 2011 Predictions!

Tonight is yet another pay per view as WWE presents Vengeance. It seems like on a weekly basis wrestling promotions are looking for their fans to dish out 40+ dollars for the same old matches. Now, I will give my same old picks.

For the WWE Divas Championship:
(champion) Beth Phoenix defends against Eve Torres

I’m not at all interested in this one. Phoenix wins this one so she can get back to feuding with KK. Simple as that, really.

For the WWE World Tag Team Championships:
(champions) Air Boom defend against Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger
This has to be the point in time where Ziggler and Swagger breakup. It is just the way this type of angle goes. I’d imagine that Swagger would go on to be the baby face while Ziggler remains being one of the better heels in the company. Air Boom retain and I have no idea where they go from here.

For the WWE United States Championship:
(champion) Dolph Ziggler defends against Zack Ryder
As much as I would like Ryder to win the belt here, I don’t see it happening. He has three major wins over the past month or so which only means he is going to lose some of his heat here. Plus, I’m inclined to think that Mason Ryan will be the guy to beat Ziggler for the belt down the line. But, if Ryder wins… I will be fine with that.

Sheamus vs. Christian WWE has done a great job building Sheamus up as a baby face. I had a hard time buying into him as a face, but he has pulled it off completely. I’m sure this will be a good match with Christian putting Sheamus over as Sheamus gets closer to the WWE Heavyweight Championship.

Grudge Match:
Randy Orton vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes
Since this is a non-title match, I think it is kind of obvious that Orton will go over. But, I think it’s too obvious. This could easily be dragged out longer and I hope it will. Orton is pissed off, thus I expect him to lose this one by disqualification. I’m thinking that will lead into a stipulation rematch between the two where Orton gets the big win.

HHH and CM Punk vs. The Miz and R-Truth I’m convinced that HHH will turn on CM Punk at some point. That, or Diesel will return and screw over Punk. Miz and Truth should win this one, but I don’t know how they will. Actually, they probably will not and I’m sure they will get hit with the double finish and pinned right in the middle of the ring. I’m picking HHH and CM Punk.

For the WWE World Heavyweight Championship:
(champion) Mark Henry defends against the Big Show

Big Show just came back, so I don’t see him losing cleanly to Henry on pay per view. I just hope that Henry doesn’t lose the championship because people have bought into him as a beast despite his past of being a comedy character and giving part of the birth of a hand with Mae Young. Maybe some kind of double disqualification or count-out here. I don’t see a clear winner coming out of this one. Perhaps even Big Show by count-out. Yeah, I’m going with Big Show by count-out.

For the WWE Heavyweight Championship: Last Man Standing
(champion) Alberto Del Rio defends against John Cena
I’m expecting some kind of screwy finish here to keep the belt on Del Rio. Cena doesn’t need the belt since he is feuding with the Rock in a few months and Del Rio will be working with Punk leading into the new year. Yeah know what? Maybe Brodus Clay makes his return to television to help Del Rio. I remember them having an alliance on Smackdown earlier this year. Del Rio retains due to Brodus Clay getting involved.

That’s it for the predictions this time around. If you purchase the event, I hope you enjoy it!
