ROH Glory By Honor XI Predictions!

Ring of Honor returns to internet pay per view this Saturday (10/13) with Glory By Honor XI! Hopefully the stream doesn’t crap out like it likes to do as of late. Anyway, here is the card for the event along with my predictions.

Rhett Titus & BJ Whitmer vs. Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team
I was expecting more out of Rhett Titus when Kenny King left ROH for TNA, but after a short singles push, Titus was paired with BJ Whitmer. It’s not a bad tag team, but I feel bad for Titus. There isn’t much interest in this feud for me, nor this there much interest in ROH period. I’m going to go with Titus and Whitmer to win this one.

Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander vs. The Bravado Brothers
I’m a big fan of Coleman and Alexander and hope that 2013 will be there year to be tag team champions in ROH. Of course, that depends if ROH is still in business by that point. In any event, this should be a solid little match and I see Caprice and Cedric pulling out the win.

Special Challenge:
Roderick Strong vs. Tadarius Thomas

Boy, they can’t find anything to distract Roderick before his showdown with Michael Elgin at Final Battle? I don’t see any reason for Strong to lose this and I don’t see Michael Elgin wasting his time to cost Strong a match on the undercard. I mean, Elgin has the biggest match of his life in the main event.

Davey Richards vs. Jay Lethal
Since it looks like Lethal is being pushed strongly as of late and Davey has just recently returned, this has become an interesting match. I remember earlier in the year that had a great match on television and this should be just as good. For some reason, I don’t think Davey is highly regarded in the company. By all accounts, Richards will be retiring by the summer of 2013. I don’t know why they would invest more time in a guy who is bailing on them. Sure, he has been vocal about that before and signed again with ROH, but at some point you have to cut your losses. So, I’m going to pick Lethal here to get a huge win.

Grudge Match:
Mike Mondo vs. Mike Bennett

This just screams “WWE match” to me. I like Mondo’s charisma but he doesn’t entertain me in the ring. Bennett is a guy who could do very well in the WWE, and I see him there sooner rather than later. As for the match, I’m picking Mondo to get a win over Bennett.

For the ROH World Television Championship:
[champion] Adam Cole defends against Eddie Edwards

I’m expecting a very good match between these two on Saturday. Unlike some other Television Championship, this one is actually important. Well, actually, since Samoa Joe holds the other TV Championship that very well could change in the near future. Any way, considering Cole and Matt Hardy seemingly set up a feud to take place at Final Battle, I’m not expecting a title change to occur. That being said, I have no idea where that would leave Eddie Edwards going into Final Battle.

For the ROH World Tag Team Championships
[champions] Jimmy Jacobs & Steve Corino defend against The Briscoe Brothers

How many tag team title matches will the Briscoe Brothers possibly get? The tag team division in ROH is a major weak spot and one of the younger teams or Titus/Whitmer need to step up and make the division more exciting. The lack of depth and the repetition of feuds is hurting ROH, in my opinion. It’s too soon for the titles to be taken off Jacobs and Corino. SCUM needs to be in power over ROH for a little while longer.

For the ROH World Championship
[champion] Kevin Steen vs. Michael Elgin

The biggest match for Elgin in his home country. I’m not sure how well ROH is going draw there, but since tickets will be there at the door the day of the show, I’m not sure it will be that great. This isn’t a make or break match for Elgin by any means. It’s rather obvious that Elgin will be wrestling Roderick Strong at Final Battle, so Steen is retaining here. But, if Elgin is able to have a strong showing (I’m sure he will) and he is able to beat Strong at Final Battle (again, he probably will) Elgin will be a force to be reckoned with in 2013.

Also scheduled to appear is Rhino. A match involving him has not been announced, so I’m not sure what role he will play on the show.

Those are my thoughts and predictions for the show this Saturday. Feel free to leave your own comments and predictions below!
