Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Buck starts off hammering away on Rhodes but Dustin avoids a blow in the corner to beat Buck down. Rhodes sends Buck to the floor following an elbow strike. Dustin gets a near fall after a back suplex and focuses on the left arm. Buck sends Rhodes to the floor where Col. Robert Parker and Meng are watching. Buck distracts the referee so Parker can hit Rhodes on the floor. Buck rams Dustin face first into the ring post. Buck maintains control with a big boot and chokes Dustin over the middle rope. Buck wraps Dustin’s arm around the ring post a couple of times. Buck works over Rhodes left arm on the mat and starts to bite Dustin’s arm! Dustin comes off the middle rope to drop Buck with an elbow strike and they go to the floor. Rhodes sends Buck arm first into the ring post. Rhodes gets a near fall after a snap suplex. Rhodes sends Bunkhouse into the ropes and hits a clothesline but gets distracted by Parker on the apron. Dustin leaps off the top but Buck hits him with his boot behind the referee’s back. Buck decides to punch Rhodes and gets cradled for a three count! After the match, Blacktop Bully enters the ring and double teams Dustin with Buck. No one runs out to save Dustin. (*1/2. They sure as hell had better matches in ’94. This was a tamed TV style and it didn’t keep much of my interest.)
Final Thoughts:
Just stick to the Dustin/Buck matches from the spring of ’94. This episode doesn’t showcase them at their finest.
