ECW on TNN
Date:
8/25/2000
From: Philadelphia, PA

Matches:
1.) Bilvis Wesley defeated Jerry Lynn by disqualification
2.) Rob Van Dam & Kid Kash defeated ECW World Champion Justin Credible & ECW Television Champion Rhino

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Joey Styles and Joel Gertner open the show promoting the fact they are back in the ECW Arena. We cut backstage where Rhino is flipping out telling Justin Credible to make him slow down as he had grabbed a beaten up Francine. Credible challenges Rhino to break RVD’s neck. Credible agrees to put the belt on the line against Rhino if he takes out Van Dam and Kid Kash tonight. Rhino will rip their heads off and piss down their throats. Rhino tells Credible that he loves him and goes yelling off out of the scene. Francine goes to do Credible’s catchphrase but he tells her to shut up and leaves to end the segment.

2.) Danny Daniels, the referee, gets on a microphone and mentions that Jerry Lynn has knocked him out each time he was refereed his matches. Daniels tells Lynn to watch his back since there is a bounty. Lynn decks Daniels but is GORED by Rhino! Rhino grabs a table and sets it up in the corner. Rhino proceeds to GORE Lynn through the table! The bell sounds for the match to start and of course Bilvis has the early advantage. Lynn tries for the cradle piledriver but has to hit the move on an interfering Tom Marquez. Wesley hits a swinging neck breaker but misses an elbow drop from the middle rope. Lynn with the cradle piledriver and has the cover. Danny Daniels gets on the microphone and disqualifies Lynn for touching him despite the match not having been started. Lynn tries to hit the cradle piledriver but Tom’s girlfriend enters and gets spiked with the cradle piledriver. (NR. this is just an angle to get Lynn’s bounty over. I like the bounty idea as it adds interest to the pay per view match between Credible and Lynn at Anarchy Rulz on October 1st.)

3.) Outside the arena, Tajiri is talking but it’s Sinister Minister off to the side providing the dialogue. Minister says that Tajiri crossed the line into their world. Mikey Whipwreck comes over and is acting like Chris Farley. Mikey doesn’t like when people don’t take themselves seriously and he walks off laughing.

4.) Kash and Credible kick off the tag main event. Kash takes Credible down with a head scissors and a dropkick to send Credible to the floor after tagging in Rhino. Kash opens up with several chops on Rhino but gets worked over in the corner until Kash hits a double springboard hurricanrana on Rhino! Kash plays to the crowd and tags in Van Dam. Rhino attacks RVD on the apron until RVD is able to hit a springboard kick from the top. Rhino attempts a power bomb but RVD gets out only to miss a side kick and Rhino delivers a clothesline. Rhino attempts a press slam but Kash enters to help out RVD. Van Dam takes Rhino down with a hurricanrana and a spinning heel kick. Credible tries to attack from behind but Kash again enters to make the save. RVD takes Rhino and Credible out with a dive over the top to the floor! Kash leaps off the top over the post and takes everyone out on the aisle way with a dive!

Credible nails Kash with a super kick right in the middle of the ring. Rhino enters the ring and works over Kash with several strikes and stomps. Rhino with a GORE in the corner but Kash kicks out before three. Credible rams Kash face first into the steel chair but only gets a near fall. Kash springboards off the top to hit a moonsault but can’t make the cover! RVD enters and cleans house on the heels with kicks. RVD atomic drops Credible and gets a chair to smash Rhino over the head before delivering a dropkick to Credible in the corner. Kash dropkicks Rhino to allow RVD to get a near fall with a rollup. Rhino crotches Kash on the top but RVD returns to help Rhino with a kick. RVD assists Kash with a leg drop from the middle rope but Credible breaks up the cover.

RVD has Credible on his shoulders and Kash leaps off the top to hit a sick hurricanrana and the fans go nuts for that move. Rhino breaks up the cover attempt. RVD kicks the chair into Rhino’s face. RVD hits the Five Star off the top rope onto Rhino, but Credible works over Van Dam with a kendo stick. Van Dam drops Credible with a spin kick and a standing side kick. RVD gets shoved off the top and hits the railing chest first. Credible attempts That’s Incredible on Kash but Kash counters with the Money Maker! Rhino GORES the referee! Rhino has Kash and proceeds to piledrive Kash off the apron through a table on the floor! That cues the music of the Sandman for the never ending feud to continue.

Sandman with a vicious kendo stick shot on Rhino and continues to deliver shots until Credible comes from behind with a shot of his own. Steve Corino enters the ring and super kicks Rhino! Rhino is out of it in the corner and Alfonso holds a chair so that RVD can hit the Van Terminator! Van Dam goes for the cover and pins Rhino! (***1/2. That’s the best match on ECW on TNN in seemingly months. The crowd was pumped for it and the action delivered. Kash actually outshines RVD in this match and makes me think that perhaps Kash could have been a big, big asset to the company had they stuck around longer.)

Final Thoughts:
A good episode just because the main point of the episode is the main event. I recommend checking it out and enjoying the action. A good job by all men involved there.

Thanks for reading.
