World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
From: Atlanta, GA
1.) The Barbarian defeated Randy Starr
2.) Dustin Rhodes, Barry Windham & Johnny B. Badd defeated WCW Television Champion Steve Austin, Cactus Jack & Maxx Payne
3.) WCW World Champion Vader defeated Larry Santo & Rob Campbell
4.) Nikita Koloff defeated Arn Anderson
1.) Jim Ross conducted an interview with Ron Simmons, who made it clear that he wanted a shot at WCW World Champion Vader in the near future.
2.) Tony Schiavone had a sit down interview with Sting to talk about his falls count anywhere match with Cactus Jack at Beach Blast and losing the title to Vader. Sting isn’t going to make excuses for the loss but he is more determined than he ever was before to regain the WCW World Championship.
3.) WCW United States Champion Rick Rude hopes that there is something left for him when Arn Anderson gets done with Nikita Koloff, who is the number one contender to the WCW United States Championship.
4.) Koloff shoulder blocks Anderson in the opening moments of the match and Anderson stumbles into a corner. Arn tries to get out of a headlock but Koloff is too strong to break the hold. This is a really slow match with Koloff keeping Anderson on the canvas for several minutes. Anderson gets some offense in by ramming his shoulder into the midsection of Koloff. Anderson attempts a DDT but Koloff hangs onto the ropes to avoid the move. Naturally, Koloff keeps control of the match on the canvas to bore the fans. Arn attempts a suplex from the apron to the floor but Koloff avoids it and soon shoulder rams Arn off the apron to the floor. On the floor, Koloff misses a clothesline and hits the ring post shoulder first. Anderson slams Koloff’s arm across the apron and stomps on Nikita to keep control of the match. Arn continues to control the arm of Koloff and uses the ropes for leverage but Koloff isn’t giving in. Nikita hammers away on Anderson but Arn goes back to work on the shoulder. Koloff drops Anderson with an elbow strike, but Arn sends Koloff head first into the turnbuckle. Nikita stops Anderson with a punch to the midsection and knocks Paul E. Dangerously off the apron. Koloff decks Anderson with a running clothesline and gets the win. (*. A boring match that didn’t have much of anything redeeming to it. The clean victory is good for Koloff since he is chasing after Rude, but this was just not fun to sit through at all.)
I’m honestly just happy the show is over with. That feature match bore me greatly.
