Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) There’s a new opening video and new stage setup for WCW Saturday Night.

2.) Mean Gene conducted an interview with new WCW World Champion Diamond Dallas Page. Page puts over his wife Kimberly who is back by his side. Page says that Kimberly is the total package and says she can swing a steel chair really well. He’ll be defending against Kevin Nash at WCW Slamboree. Page says this wasn’t supposed to happen but it did. Page thinks that Nash is happy that Page put Hogan out and he might just put Nash out, too.

3.) Bigelow backs Wrath into the corner and hammers away on the big man. Bigelow runs intoa big boot but ducks a clothesline managing to drop Wrath with a running clothesline of his own. Wrath works over Bigelow in the corner with knee lifts and stomps. Bigelow eye rakes Wrath but misses a clothesline. Wrath comes off the ropes to hit a leaping clothesline. Wrath continues to work over Bigelow with strikes in the corner until Bigelow drops Wrath face first across the top rope turnbuckle. Bigelow keeps control with a falling head butt for a two count. Wrath elbows out of a headlock but gets taken down to the canvas. Wrath comes out of the corner and decks Bigelow with a clothesline. Wrath power slams Bigelow and goes to the middle rope missing an elbow drop. Hak comes in from behind and attacks both men with a kendo stick, but he hit Bigelow first thus Bigelow gets the win. Wrath tosses Hak to the floor and all three men are brawling on the floor at this point. Is this an attempt to put Wrath in the hardcore division? (*. For what they did it was okay, I guess. Bigelow’s offense nowadays is rather slow and boring. No wonder he is stuck in the hardcore division.)

4.) Late in the match, Flynn has a cross arm breaker on Barbarian, but Hugh Morrus comes off the top rope missing an elbow drop. However, Flynn gets double teamed for a few moments. Barbarian spikes Flynn with a piledriver. Morrus goes to the top and hits Flynn with a moonsault.

5.) Rey and Kidman storm the ring and all four men are brawling in the ring to kick off the main event. Kidman and Rey dropkick the challengers to the floor. Rey takes Malenko out with a somersault dive to the floor. Kidman takes Benoit out with a slingshot cross body! Kidman and Benoit legally start the match with Kidman missing a clothesline and Benoit hits a series of German suplexs! Benoit blows some snot on Kidman and taunts Rey on the apron. Kidman nearly wins with an inside cradle but gets worked over in the corner. Malenko tags in and stomps Kidman in the corner to keep control of the match. Dean hits a clothesline on Kidman in the corner and knocks Rey off the apron. Malenko plants Kidman with a vertical suplex for a two count. Kidman gets worked over with a double head butt. Benoit tags in and drives Kidman down with a back suplex. Benoit works over Kidman with strikes in the corner. Benoit sends Kidman to the floor where Kidman gets worked over by the challengers. Malenko sends Kidman into the ring steps. Malenko delivers a knee drop and gets a two count on Kidman. Kidman nearly wins with a rollup on Malenko but Benoit gets the hot tag. Benoit hits a tilt a whirl slam on Kidman for a near fall. Kidman kicks Benoit in the corner but Benoit storms back with a clothesline. Malenko gets tagged in and stomps on Kidman with Benoit. Malenko drives Kidman down with a back breaker for another two count. Benoit gets tagged back in and Kidman gets worked over in the corner some more. Kidman counters a back suplex by Benoit and nearly gets a three count. Malenko tags back in and attempts a power bomb but Kidman counters with a face buster! Kidman tags in Rey who cleans house until Benoit cuts Rey off with a clothesline. Rey ducks Malenko’s clothesline and spin kicks Benoit. Rey comes off the top to hit a missile dropkick! Rey takes Malenko off the top rope with a hurricanrana! Kidman goes to the top but Arn Anderson attacks and that causes the disqualification. Raven and Perry Saturn run into the ring and attack Malenko and Benoit to make the save. Raven plants Malenko with a DDT! Rey hits a moonsault onto Raven, who had a chair across his body. Saturn splashes Kidman and Benoit in the corner but hits the chair, too. (***. A really solid main event to close the program, just as I would hope it would be. The aftermath was fun, too as it promotes the triple threat tag match at Slamboree rathe nicely.)

Final Thoughts:
I enjoyed the show. Something as simple as the WCW World Champion having an interview makes Saturday Night feel a little more important. The main event was fun and crowd was really into the action.

Thanks for reading.
