Extreme Championship Wrestling presents Hardcore TV
Date: 2/13/1999
From: Various locations

Matches:
1.) ECW Television Champion Rob Van Dam defeated Ulf Herman to retain the title
2.) Spike Dudley defeated Big Dick Dudley
3.) Antifaz Del Norte defeated Little Guido
4.) Super Crazy defeated Tajiri

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) The show starts of with ECW Fancam footage of Sid arriving in Falls River, MA. Sid scoop slams One Man Gang sending him to the floor. Sid grabs Rod Price to deliver a chokeslam. Skull Von Krush is in the ring holding his knee begging off. Sid helps Krush to his feet and proceeds to finish him off with a powerbomb. Sid proceeds to blow a lot of snot onto Von Krush.

2.) Joey Styles promotes ECW Living Dangerously taking place on March 21st, which will feature ECW World Champion Taz defending against Sabu.

3.) The RVD/Herman match is heavily clipped. Herman got some offense in mostly involving clotheslines, a sloppy powerbomb and a better looking powerbomb. RVD hit a crossbody off the top to the floor. RVD also hit a somersault dive into the crowd off the railing. RVD kicks a chair into Herman’s face in the crowd. RVD also hit the rolling thunder before winning with the Five Star Frog Splash.

4.) Footage from House Party ’99 is shown. Lance Storm came out before a match between Tommy Dreamer and Justin Credible. Storm is offended that people are saying Credible and Dreamer had a better match on PPV. Storm believes he carried RVD to the best match of his career on PPV. Fans want there to be a three way dance, which is obvious. Dreamer says nobody cares about Storm and his Canadian great matches. Dreamer wants Credible to fight him one on one for once. Dreamer suggests Jazz go backstage and suck another penis. Dreamer says he wasn’t talking about her, but rather Jason! Dreamer doesn’t know why Nicole Bass is in his face because he said nothing about Nicole’s penis. Dreamer insults Tammy Bytch calling her a slut, too.

5.) Backstage, Spike Dudley is asked if he ever gets nervous before a fight. Spike laughs and says of course he does get nervous until the bell rings. The Acid Drop gives him all the courage he needs. He puts his glasses on and then makes the usual Spike face.

6.) Backstage, Steve Prazak interviews Joel Gertner asking who paid off the Dudley Boys. Gertner says that Prazak is an idiot for asking that question. Gertner teases being the stooge to reveal the answer. Gertner says that the person is a mysterious benefactor

7.) Footage from ECW Fancam where Spike Dudley hit an Acid Drop on Big Dick Dudley win the match within seconds. After the match, Dudley Boys planted Spike with a 3D. New Jack made his way out to make the save with a garbage can full of weapons. Jack leaves off of a balcony to splash Gertner through a table in the ring. Dudley Boys are able to leave Jack laying with a 3D.

8.) Del Norte and Guido have a standoff early on as Guido avoids Del Norte in the opening moments of the match. Tracy Smothers is giving Guido pointers from the floor. Guido leg sweeps Del Norte and gets control on the mat for a moment. Del Norte gets a two count with a rollup and Guido goes to the ropes. Guido regains control on the mat working over the left leg, but Del Norte rolls through. Del Norte has a leg lock on Guido forcing Guido to bail to the floor to regroup. Guido and Del Norte trade chops in the corner with Guido stomping away on Del Norte. Guido scoop slams Del Norte but Del Norte nearly wins with a springboard sunset flip powerbomb. Del Norte sends Guido to the floor with a missile dropkick. Del Norte takes Guido and Smothers out with a springboard somersault dive to the floor. Del Norte hits a standing hurricanrana on Guido followed by a head scissors. Del Norte leaps off the middle rope but Guido hits a quick powerbomb for a two count. Guido takes Del Norte down with a neckbreaker for a two count. The crowd lets Guido know that he messed up.

Guido misses a splash in the corner and is met with kicks. Del Norte takes Guido out with a somersault dive in the ring for a near fall. Del Norte has a rollup, but the referee doesn’t count and instead waits for Smothers to enter and attack Del Norte. Smothers allows Guido to hit a middle rope leg drop and Smothers kicks Del Norte to the floor. Nova slides into the ring and makes the save. Nova clotheslines Guido and Smothers followed by a neckbreaker/stunner combo on the FBI. Nova dropkicks Sal off the apron and hits a tornado DDT off the apron onto the floor! Nova plants Smothers with a sit out spine buster for a two count. Nova plants Guido with a double under hook facebuster for a two count. Del Norte hits a missile dropkick on Smothers. Del Norte hits a front slam and pins Guido while Nova dove off the top to take the FBI out on the floor. (**1/4. I can honestly say that Del Norte doesn’t get nearly the amount of press that Crazy and Tajiri have gotten in ECW. The interference part wasn’t something I enjoyed nor did I think it was needed.)

9.) The match between Super Crazy and Tajiri took place in Concord, NC. Crazy controls Tajiri on the mat with some mat wrestling working over his legs. Tajiri gets a rollup on Crazy for a near fall. Tajiri keeps Crazy on the mat for a moment until Crazy pops up and works over Tajiri’s arm. They have a standoff after Crazy gets a two count on a rollup. Tajiri hits a nice standing hurricanrana for a two count. Crazy monkey flips Tajiri but Tajiri comes back with a wheelbarrow arm drag. They trade a couple of arm drags and they have another standoff. Crazy drop toe holds Tajiri and locks in a surfboard. Crazy rolls around the ring a few times before locking in a dragon sleeper. Crazy lets go of the hold without getting a submission. Tajiri handspring back elbows Crazy and arm drags Crazy out of the corner. Tajiri connects with a hurricanrana and slides Crazy to the floor. Tajiri takes Crazy out with a springboard moonsault to the floor. Tajiri kicks Crazy a few times on the apron and locks in the tarantula.

Tajiri keeps control kicking Crazy in the midsection and head scissors Crazy on the floor. Crazy comes back with a tilt a whirl backbreaker. Crazy dives over the referee and over the top to hit a somersault dive to take out Tajiri on the floor! Crazy hits a springboard moonsault into the ring for a near fall. Crazy plants Tajiri with a fireman’s carry slam before hitting a top rope moonsault. Crazy goes to the top again, but is stopped and put in a tree of woe. Tajiri delivers a sliding dropkick to lay out Crazy. Tajiri follows up with a kick to the head, twice. Tajiri comes off the ropes with a dropkick to a kneeling Crazy. Crazy tries for a powerbomb, but Tajiri counters with a DDT for a near fall. Crazy counters a hurricanrana attempt with a powerbomb for the win. (***. As expected, it’s a good match with the same spots they’ve used over the past several weeks. However, judging by the response of the fans, they must not watch Hardcore TV.)

Final Thoughts:
I’d consider this to be an average week for television for the most part. Felt very similar to previous weeks in terms of segments used. Interested to see what happens in Queens next week.
