Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Cassidy O’Reilly worked for TNA earlier in the year teaming with Chase Stevens as the Hot Shots. O’Reilly is wearing his Hot Shot trunks, which Stevens did not wear on Velocity.
2.) Raven offers to allow O’Reilly the chance to leave the ring, but O’Reilly declines. Raven hammers away on O’Reilly in the corner followed by stomps. Raven backdrops O’Reilly coming off the ropes and delivers a kick to the head. Raven continues to tell O’Reilly he gave him a chance. O’Reilly almost wins with a rollup. O’Reilly punches Raven and tries for a go-behind but is yanked down to the mat. Raven delivers a running clothesline and taunts the crowd. Raven sends O’Reilly chest first into the corner and hits a clothesline off the ropes. Raven gouges O’Reilly’s eyes for a moment. O’Reilly misses a springboard somersault dive and crashes to the mat. Raven kicks O’Reilly a few times and chokes O’Reilly on the mat. Raven drives his knee into the upper back of O’Reilly from the middle rope for a near fall. Raven keeps control with a sleeper hold. O’Reilly elbows free and delivers right hands. O’Reilly handspring elbows Raven, but misses a tornado DDT attempt. Raven decks O’Reilly with a clothesline and clubs O”Reilly on the back. O’Reilly almost wins with a handspring crossbody off the ropes. Raven delivers a knee lift in the corner and finishes O’Reilly off with the Raven Effect for the win. (*1/2. O’Reilly showed off some fun offense or even attempted high spots in the loss. It was a little sloppy, which wasn’t a surprise by any means.)
3.) Mark Jindrak won his squash match with a spinning sit out powerbomb. That’s a much better finisher than his debut.
4.) Richards taunts Stamboli after faking a lockup. Stamboli shoves Richards out of a lockup and returns the taunting. Richards chops Stamboli followed by right hands in the corner. Stamboli backdrops Richards out of the corner followed by a scoop slam for a two count. Richards shoulder rams Stamboli against the ropes and tosses Stamboli over the top to the apron. Stamboli goes to the top to hit a flying clothesline for a two count. Stamboli keeps control with a headlock on the mat. Stamboli shoulder blocks Richards, but is met with a drop toe hold into the ropes and a neckbreaker for a two count. Richards stomps on Stamboli and delivers a kick to the face. Richards takes Stamboli over with a snap suplex and continues with an elbow drop. Richards puts a chin lock on Stamboli, but doesn’t get a submission. Stamboli has Richards on his shoulders and connects with an electric chair slam. Stamboli powerslams Richards to counter a leapfrog attempt. They begin to trade strikes in the corner with Stamboli running through Richards with clotheslines. Stamboli elbows Richards to the mat. Stamboli splashes Richards and hits a tilt a whirl slam. Richards elbows Stamboli and runs into a press slam turned into a powerslam. Stamboli misses a top rope elbow drop. Richards nails Stamboli with a superkick to win the match. (*1/2. A decent match between these two and I’m really liking the momentum that Richards has been getting with clean wins on Heat in recent weeks. Stamboli has great agility, and just needs to put it all together to really breakout.)
5.) Molly gets wrist control on Jacqueline to start the match, but Jacqueline counters with a cradle for a two count. Molly keeps a headlock on Jacqueline, but is shoved into the ropes and shoulder blocks Jacqueline. Jacqueline arm drags Molly a few times. Molly bails to the floor to regroup. Molly is acting like her arm is hurt and the referee throws up the X. Another referee comes out to check on Molly, but Jacqueline doesn’t seem to be buying it. Jacqueline turns her back to Molly and Molly rams Jacqueline face first into the ring steps a few times. Molly rolls Jacqueline into the ring and connects with a snap suplex for a two count. Molly keeps a chin lock on Jacqueline, but lets go. Molly twists Jacqueline’s neck, but Jacqueline elbows free and hits a crossbody for a two count. Molly connects with a clothesline and gets a two count. Molly connects with a swinging neckbreaker for a near fall. Molly gouges Jacqueline’s eyes on the mat. Molly chokes Jacqueline over the middle rope. Molly sends Jacqueline into the corner and is met with an elbow strike. Molly misses a clothesline and Jacqueline delivers a dropkick. Jacqueline elbows Molly to the mat for a near fall. Jacqueline kicks Molly several times. Jacqueline tries for a tornado DDT, but Molly blocks it. Molly pulls Jacqueline down off the middle rope in the corner and uses the ropes for leverage to win the match. (*1/4. They sure do love that rollup finish using the ropes for leverage by heels, don’t they? There were a couple of decent spots, but this didn’t hold my interest this time around.)
Final Thoughts:
A subpar episode of Heat this week with nothing standing out and lacking entertainment for the most part.
Thanks for reading.
