World Wrestling Entertainment presents Super Tuesday

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon has a special announcement regarding the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Stephanie announces a triple threat tag team match at Survivor Series. Benoit & Angle vs. The Guerreros vs. Edge & Mysterio is the match. Stephanie says there will be a three way match between Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Edge. She will be hanging onto the tag titles.

Opening Contest: Smackdown Tag Team Champion Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit: Benoit attacks Edge while Guerrero remains on the floor. Benoit chops Edge several times in the corner followed by forearm strikes. Benoit rams Edge into the corner and continues with chops. Edge sends Benoit chest first into the corner and delivers a back suplex followed by a leg drop, but Guerrero breaks the cover. Guerrero forearms Edge several times and delivers a back elbow strike. Benoit clotheslines Guerrero and plants Guerrero with a back suplex. Benoit works over Guerrero in the corner with several strikes. Edge pummels both Benoit and Guerrero with right hands in the corner. Edge is fired up as both Benoit and Guerrero are on the mat. Benoit knee lifts Edge coming off the ropes, but only manages a two count. Guerrero stomps on Benoit and they collide on stereo clothesline attempt as the show goes to commercial.

Guerrero plants Edge with a back suplex, but Benoit stops Guerrero with a dropkick. Benoit tries for a cover, but Guerrero kicks out at two. Benoit forearms Guerrero in the corner a few times. Edge strikes Guerrero and hits a flapjack. Edge flapjacks Benoit, as well. Edge heads to the top rope, but is stopped by Guerrero. Benoit has Guerrero on his shoulders and Edge hits a missile dropkick for a two count on Guerrero. Benoit tosses Edge with a German suplex. Guerrero spikes Benoit with a brainbuster for a two count. Guerrero goes to the top missing a frog splash. Edge drives Guerrero down with a face plant. Benoit locks in the Crossface on Edge, but Guerrero breaks it up and Benoit gets the Crossface on Guerrero! Edge dropkicks both men to break the hold. Benoit misses a clothesline and Edge spears Benoit! Edge hits a jumping DDT and covers Guerrero, but Chavo Guerrero pulls the referee out of the ring. Edge knocks Chavo into the referee on the floor. Chavo sends Edge into the ring post shoulder first! Rey Mysterio runs down to the ring and attacks Chavo at ringside. Mysterio takes Chavo out with a moonsault off the barricade. Guerrero tries for a brainbuster on Benoit, but Benoit counters with the Crossface. Kurt Angle slides the referee into the ring, but the referee is sent into Benoit to break the hold. Angle gets on the apron and Guerrero gets a rollup on Benoit to win the match! (**1/2. Not surprised that everyone in the triple threat tag match got involved to add some hype for that match at Survivor Series. Guerrero winning makes the most sense since they are probably the team with the least momentum. Considering the Guerreros are the only real tag team in this situation, I think they walk out as the champions at the PPV.) After the match, Benoit is pissed, but Angle isn’t laughing and seems to be equally mad that Benoit didn’t get the job done.

Big Show makes his way down to the ring to cut a promo. Show says that Brock Lesnar can’t beat him and he punked Lesnar out. Show chokeslammed Lesnar through the announcers table and press slammed Lesnar off the stage. Show promises that he’ll be the next WWE Champion. That was short and sweet.

Second Contest: WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus vs. Torrie Wilson in a bikini challenge: Stratus goes first to reveal her bikini and the crowd responds positively, as expected. Tazz notes he is going to talk to Stephanie to bring Stratus to Smackdown. Torrie is up next and reveals her bikini and seemingly gets a better reaction. Nidia pulls Wilson out of the ring and Stratus forearms Nidia. Wilson pulls Nidia to the floor to deliver a strike. They did that to avoid having a loser between the two top women in WWE. Tazz raises both their arms to declare a draw, I’m assuming. This wraps up the Smackdown side of the show.

Shawn Michaels is interviewed via satellite to promote Survivor Series. Michaels says that the PPV is going to be wild and chaotic. Michaels says they are all wanting to be World Champion. Michaels knows that HHH reason for living is to be champion. Michaels wants to ruin his life after everything HHH has done to him and his family. Michaels wants to take away HHH reason for living. Michaels is determined to prevent HHH from walking out as champion. Michaels says if he wins the title there will be a new sheriff in town.

Main Event: RAW World Champion Triple H, Jamal, Rosey, RAW Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Christian vs. Booker T, Bubba Dudley, Rob Van Dam, Kane & Jeff Hardy: Hardy and Jamal kickoff the match. Jamal works over Hardy with a few strikes for the advantage and backdrops Hardy coming off the ropes. Jamal tags in Christian and Hardy is double teamed briefly. Christian misses a clothesline and Hardy delivers a leg drop to the lower midsection. Bubba tags in and jabs Christian a few times. Bubba chops Christian in the corner a few times and taunts the heels in the corner. Bubba hits a splash in the corner and jabs Christian several times. Bubba elbows Christian to the mat for a two count. Christian kicks Bubba and runs into a flapjack. Bubba tags in RVD, but Christian tags out to Jamal. RVD forearms Jamal a few times, but Jamal clubs RVD over the back and misses a splash in the corner. RVD leaps off the top to kick Jamal to the mat followed by a standing moonsault for a two count. Jamal misses a clothesline, but decks RVD with a discus clothesline. HHH tags into the match and works over RVD with right hands in the corner. Jericho enters the match and plants RVD with a back suplex. Jericho stomps on RVD to maintain the advantage. Jericho misses a dropkick and RVD hits a rolling thunder splash before tagging in Kane. Kane drops HHH with right hands and a clothesline in the corner. Kane decks everyone on the apron and boots Jericho before knocking Rosey off the apron. Kane is kicked by Christian and HHH, but runs through them with a clothesline. Kane sends Jericho to the floor and side slams HHH.

Kane heads to the top rope hitting a flying clothesline. Kane covers HHH, but is pulled off by Jamal. That leads to a brawl around ringside involving everyone. RVD rolls over Christian and nails Christian with a spin kick. RVD spin kicks Jericho and tries for a hurricanrana, but Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho. Booker thrust kicks Jericho and hits a scissors kick. Booker does the spinarooni. Christian stops Booker with a reverse DDT. Bubba hits the Bubba Bomb, but Jericho forearms Bubba. Booker clotheslines Jericho to the floor. Hardy hits the Swanton Bomb on Christian. Jamal and Rosey attack Hardy and Jamal hits a Samoan Drop. Bubba clotheslines Rosey, but is superkicked by Jamal. Jamal is stopped by Kane and chokeslammed off the top rope! HHH enters and tries for a Pedigree, but Kane backdrops free. Kane plants HHH with a chokeslam, but Christian breaks the cover. Kane press slams Christian to the floor. Jericho missile dropkicks Kane. RVD leaps off the top to hit the Five Star Frog Splash on Jamal! Jericho misses a chair shot and gets the chair kicked into his face. RVD takes everyone out with a somersault dive over the top top the floor. Kane is hit by Flair with a chair from the floor. HHH enters and plants Kane with a Pedigree to win the match. (**. It is getting annoying that HHH needs to beat everyone before Survivor Series seemingly. Kane taking the loss here makes no sense to me. Sure, Flair assisted in the victory, but why not just have Bubba or Hardy take the fall since they are not involved in the main event program? The action here was fine for what it was and the match flew by. The finish is just frustrating.)

Final Thoughts:
I thought this was a mostly enjoyable hour program to add some extra hype for Survivor Series.

Thanks for reading.
