Cheech kicks Dinero and nails Dinero with the Go To Cheech for the clean win. (**. A fairly basic start to the show, but still solid regardless. Cheech getting a clean win over a veteran is always good thing. Dinero and Michelle still being together since the NWA Cyberspace days was a pleasant surprise, too.)
Second Contest: Team Spazz (Dalton Castle, Dicky Harter, Ice, Soundcheck Sully & Spazz) vs. Team Mantha (Ben Golden, Gino Ando, Mo Mantha, Nick Ando & Richard Venice): Alright, so this is well before Dalton Castle developing his peacock character. Also, Dick Justice is one of the competitors known as Richard Venice. Nick Ando is well known in the NY indies, but this before his captain gimmick a few years later. I’m not going to give this a lot of attention. Venice ends up pinning Spazz after a splash.
Third Contest: John McChesney vs. Pepper Parks in a number one contenders match: McChesney wants to shake hands and Parks accepts without any issue. McChesney controls Parks with a waist lock to start the match, but Parks breaks free with a hammerlock. McChesney gains control on the mat, but that doesn’t last too long. McChesney tosses Parks off the middle rope to the mat. McChesney hits a top rope frog splash for the win. (**1/4. Wow, I was not expecting such a short match whatsoever. I thought they hadn’t even gotten into the second gear of the match. I’m wondering if Parks got hurt on the dive to the floor dive. It was solid for what they had gotten to do before a seemingly abrupt finish.)

Doring hits a splash off the apron to put a student through the table. Delaney tries for a cover on Doring, but only gets a two count. Delaney knee strikes Doring to the mat and waits for Doring to get up. Delaney taunts Doring, but Tommy Dreamer’s music hits, but nobody comes out. Doring hits a swinging neckbreaker and wins the match. (**. Not a bad match, but the finish is a little weak to me. A distraction finish for Doring to win doesn’t seem like the best option. It sure seems as if they are doing a Delaney/Dreamer feud to play off their ECW run together, but still. I’d probably save any connection for Dreamer’s match later on. It doesn’t seem necessary here.)
Fifth Contest: Balls Mahoney & Dewey vs. Little Guido & Rob Sweet in an extreme rules match: They all shake hands to show respect for each other. Guido and Mahoney kickoff the tag match, which is not a tornado tag. Guido takes Mahoney over with a fireman’s carry and tries for a drop toe hold, but Mahoney blocks and misses an elbow drop. Dewey sends Guido into several chairs. Sweet beats on Mahoney with a broom at ringside. Dewey sprays silly string on Sweet. Mahoney slides a table into the ring. Guido hits Dewey with a kendo stick. Guido rolls into the ring and Mahoney tries to send Guido into the table, but Mahoney hits a clothesline. Sweet whacks Mahoney with a chair shot, but Mahoney isn’t bothered by it. Dewey hits a backbreaker on Sweet. Mahoney whacks Sweet with a chair on the table. Mahoney hits a leg drop off the top to put Sweet through the table. Mahoney covers and wins the match. (**. This was just harmless hardcore fun.)

Saint drives Dreamer down with a reverse Un-Prettier and wins the match. (*1/2. Yeah, that’s the interference that should have been on the show. For a hardcore match it’s rather underwhelming. Dreamer losing in this matter doesn’t do anything for Saint, which kind of sucks.) After the match, Dreamer is beaten down by Saint and Delaney.

Apparently, that means Suave and Jones have won the match. (***1/2. It’s a wild match with so much action going on with eight guys that it’s likely impossible to keep track of everything that was going on. I mean, the camera guy couldn’t even keep up with the action. The brawling outside of the cage is a little bit annoying just because it defeats the purpose of the cage match to me. However, with there being four teams involved in one ring, I understand the need to depart from the cage. It’s an enjoyable match.)
Final Thoughts:
Originally, I was leaning towards a thumbs down, but the main event far exceeded my expectations. Thus, I’m more of a slight thumbs up for this show. There’s nothing on the show that’s horrible and the undercard has mostly decent action before the standout main event. I was suckered into this show to see how the ECW guys would holdup in 2010, and left impressed by the Upstate guys in the main event.
Thanks for reading.
