Hogan calls out Mr. Anderson to join them in the ring. Hogan also brings out D’Angelo Dinero to join them in the ring. Hogan also calls out Jeff Hardy and lastly Kurt Angle to join them. They are the final four in the tournament to crown a new TNA World Champion. Hogan reminds us that everyone knows what happened to RVD. Hogan says they all have a chance to impact where the company goes. Hogan says one of them needs to step up and raise the bar in TNA. Bischoff chimes in and says that he knows it was a controversial decision to put them in a tag match two days before a PPV. Bischoff says this will help them decide who will become champion. Abyss makes his way out through the crowd with Janice. Abyss gets in the ring, but Hogan says nobody asked for him to be out here. Abyss says he has news worthy revelations from “them.” Hogan knows that them is Flair and his band of idiots. Abyss says that Hogan is just as ignorant as everyone else. Abyss says they will remove Dixie Carter as President of TNA. Abyss also says they will take out Hogan and Bischoff. Abyss points at Dinero, Hardy, Anderson and Angle. Love and Sky are choked on the mat for a few moments. The biker takes her mask off and it is revealed as being Tara. (1/2*. Yeah, not good. I would have thought reveal would be saved for the PPV, but what do I know.)

Backstage, EV 2.0 and Fortune are being held apart while Mick Foley is holding his ankle on the ground. Abyss hits the Black Hole Slam. Brian Kendrick dropkicks Abyss to the floor and runs off with Stevie Richards. (1/2*. I mean, this makes little sense to me. Abyss is currently your top true heel and he’s doing clean jobs to Stevie Richards. It’s not even a fluke win, really.)
Backstage, Mr. Anderson cuts a promo about his relationship with D’Angelo Dinero, which has been rocky to say the least. Anderson doesn’t know why Dinero doesn’t like him because he’s been nice to him. Anderson thinks they should be best friends. Dinero enters the scene and laughs. Anderson needs to know that Dinero is there for him just as he’ll be there for Dinero. Dinero tells Anderson they’ll see what happens in the ring.
Tommy Dreamer and EV 2.0 are in the ring. Dreamer calls out Fortune to fight for hurting Foley’s ankle. Fortune comes out to the aisle to confront Dreamer. Styles asks if Dreamer has something to say to them, but they don’t want to hear it. Styles again says this is his house and tells Dreamer to shut his mouth. Styles asks if Dreamer really thinks he has a chance at No Surrender. Styles notes that Sabu wrestles Douglas Williams for the X-Division Championship. Styles also notes that Rhino wrestles Abyss in a falls count anywhere match. Styles thinks they will get slaughtered. Styles mentions he’s wrestling Dreamer in an I Quit match. Styles mocks Dreamer and thinks he’ll make him quit. Styles promises to embarrass Dreamer in his house. Dreamer says that this is Styles house, but this is a house that people think he sucks. Sting stomps on Jarrett to maintain control of the match. Jarrett kicks Sting and continues with strikes. Jarrett clotheslines Sting and goes to the floor to hammer away on Nash. Jarrett decks Sting on the floor, as well. Sting pulls Jarrett off Nash and eye rakes Jarrett. Sting rams Jarrett into the guard railing. Sting rams Jarrett into the railing again and clotheslines Jarrett on the ramp. Sting rolls Jarrett into the ring. Jarrett rams Sting into the turnbuckles on the apron and tries for a suplex, but Nash hooks Jarrett and Sting lands on top to win the match. After the match, Jarrett tries to fight off Nash, but Sting has the baseball bat on Jarrett’s neck. (1/2*. To think that four years ago these two were main eventing Bound For Glory. A lot can change in four years in pro wrestling.)
Hulk Hogan comes out to the aisle and takes his watch off. Sting taunts Hogan with Jarrett, but Samoa Joe gets in the ring and attacks Nash. Sting lets go of Jarrett and Joe wants Sting to bring it on. Joe tells Hogan that he has this, but Sting backs off saying that Joe is in the wrong place.
Another vignette promoting a new wrestler from the Shore is aired. They are coming soon.
Desmond Wolfe, Magnus and Chelsea are in the ring to cut a promo. Wolfe says that he and Magnus, London Brawling, have defeated every team put in front of them. Wolfe believes they are the best team and they will prove it at No Surrender. Magnus thinks the fans are embarrassed to have Sabin and Shelley as their champs. Magnus says they are here to save the day and save the fans. Magnus says the belts are coming off the boys and onto the real men. TNA World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns join the segment. Shelley says that if they think they killed themselves in five matches with Beer Money in order to lose the belts to them at No Surrender they aren’t thinking hard enough. Sabin chimes in and says he hasn’t seen them defeat anyone. Sabin believes they are the best tag team in the universe. Sabin thinks the only tag teaming they’ve been doing is with each other. Wolfe explains the joke. Wolfe doesn’t want to ruin their comedy routine and notes they are the only duo with a woman. Magnus thinks the champs should worry about growing hair on their nuts. Shelley asks why does Chelsea always have a lousy look on her face if they’re men. Shelley has ten dollars, five minutes and one dog tag. Chelsea looks kind of interested. Sabin says that Chelsea needs money just like any other call girl. Wolfe wants Chelsea to tell the champs how great he is in bed. Chelsea questions Wolfe’s claim and says if there was a sword fight that Wolfe’s weapon would come up short. Wolfe naturally flips out over this revelation. Wolfe and Magnus attack the champs. Wolfe stomps a championship on Shelley’s chest in the corner. London Brawling hit a side slam/running boot combo to leave Shelley laying.
Backstage, Tommy Dreamer is pissed about all the guys being taken out. Dreamer asks if Foley can work tonight, but he can’t. Kendrick enters the room and offers his services. Kendrick thinks they need each other. Dreamer tells Kendrick to not get involved. Kendrick wants to create reality with them. Foley says he’s going to be the man to name a replacement and Kendrick is out of his mind, which means he’s perfect. Dreamer tells Kendrick that he’s in, but doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into.
Backstage, Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle cut a promo about the tag match and PPV coming up. Hardy says he has a chance to become TNA World Champion in honor of Rob Van Dam. Hardy says that if Angle loses to him then Angle’ career might be over. Angle doesn’t plan on losing and he’s focused on tonight. Angle says that if Hardy isn’t focus that could lead to injury. Angle reminds Hardy he doesn’t plan on losing and they shake hands.

Dreamer avoids a double team suplex attempt, but Styles hits a springboard forearm as Dreamer hit a DDT on Roode for an elimination. Dreamer gets a sloppy rollup on Storm for another elimination. Matt Morgan tries to get involved, but is crotched over the top rope Styles eye rakes Dreamer and hits a Pele kick to win the match. Foley and Flair are brawling on the floor. (**. Well, I’m glad Fortune won the match. I honestly would have cringed if Dreamer overcame 3 to 1 odds to win the match.)

Angle hits a German suplex on Anderson and the Angle Slam on Dinero. Andersn breaks the cover. Anderson clotheslines Dinero. Hardy accidentally hits Angle with the Whisper In The Wind. Anderson nails Angle with the Mic Check and Dinero covers Angle for the win. (*1/2. It went mostly as I expected it to be. Of course the two teams are going to brawl with each other because they don’t get along. Dinero sneaking wins after other dudes finishers isn’t a great method to get him over as a viable threat since he’s not doing anything to cause the victory. It’s kind of humorous that they made this match seem so controversial and crazy to do, but it’s just a tag match.) After the match, Anderson appears to be a bit frustrated that Dinero won the match after his finisher. Anderson and Dinero end up brawling. Dinero spears himself and Anderson through the ropes to the floor. Angle and Hardy have a confrontation and brawl, as well. Angle punches Hardy to the floor, but security comes out to break up the fighting as the show goes off the air.
NOTE: There isn’t an episode of Impact on 9/9. So, the fallout of No Surrender won’t begin until 9/16.
Final Thoughts:
The Guns/London Brawling segment was entertaining, but that was about it for this week. Abyss losing to Stevie is just a bizarre thing to do. I would say this episode did not make me more inclined to purchase No Surrender.
Thanks for reading.
