Match #1: WCW Cruiserweight Champion Billy Kidman & Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Ciclope & Hector Garza in 8:48 when Kidman pinned Garza following the Shooting Star Press. During the match, Devon Storm prevented El Dandy and Silver King from getting involved.
Mean Gene conducted an interview with Diamond Dallas Page regarding his upcoming Last Man Standing match with The Giant this Sunday at Souled Out. DDP tells Gene that Giant got him pretty well on Nitro by putting him through a table, but DDP insists that he’s not going to stay down. DDP is a fighter and Giant will find out this Sunday the heart that DDP has to take out the Giant. Get ready to feel the BANG.
Match #2: Wrath defeated Horace in 2:04 following the Meltdown. After the match, Bam-Bam Bigelow comes out and tells Wrath that there’s no reason to wait for Souled Out for their match. Wrath doesn’t think about it and they come to blows until officials come out to break them up as the show went to commercial.
Backstage, Devon Storm approaches Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio saying that what’s going on with the LWO isn’t right and that he’s got their backs. Kidman, seemingly annoyed, tells Storm that they appreciate his concern and for helping out tonight, but that the LWO is something they are dealing with and they don’t need the help.
Match #3: Perry Saturn defeated Jerry Flynn in 7:11 following a Death Valley Driver
An AD for WCW Souled Out 1999.
Match #4: Scott Steiner & Buff Bagwell defeated Public Enemy to advance to the finals of the WCW Tag Team Title Tournament in 6:22 when Steiner forced Grunge to submit to the Steiner Recliner.
Mean Gene is on the aisle as Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko come out to fake applaud for Steiner and Bagwell victory. Steiner and Bagwell walk up the aisle and Benoit tells them that it was an impressive victory, but the Horsemen are determined to take out the Outsiders and nobody is going to get in their way. Steiner chimes in and says that they are better than the Outsiders and that at Souled Out they will cripple Benoit and put Malenko on ice, permanently. The two teams have a face to face, but don’t come to blows.
Match #5: Rick Steiner defeated Lenny Lane in 3:15 following a top rope bulldog. After the match, Kanyon comes out and has a temper tantrum that Lane didn’t even weaken his Souled Out opponent.
Mean Gene conducted an interview with WCW Television Champion Konnan regarding the upcoming submission match against Chris Jericho at Souled Out. Konnan tells Gene that the time for talking is over with. Konnan puts over the Tequila Sunrise as the most painful submission and in a few days, Jericho will be tapping out like the little pansy that he truly is.
Match #6: Curt Hennig defeated Kenny Kaos in 3:08 following the Hennig Plex
Backstage, Mean Gene conducted an interview with Eddy Guerrero. Eddy is furious with the LWO members continually not getting the job done and Eddy knows that he’ll have to take care of it himself. Eddy reveals that he’s got a title shot against Kidman at Souled Out and the title will be come back home to the LWO and he’ll have a special ceremony on Nitro for when he becomes the rightful champion.
Main Event: Harlem Heat (WCW US Champion Booker T & Stevie Ray) defeated The British Bulldog & Jim Neidhart in 9:52 when Booker pinned Neidhart after a scissors kick. After the match, Bret Hart gets on the microphone and expresses his frustration with Neidhart and Bulldog. Hart can’t believe that family let him down again and promises to set the example by beating Booker T at Souled Out and is determined to make 1999 the year of the Hitman to end the show.
