Goldberg makes his way out to the ring to kickoff the program and makes his intentions clear. He’s back in WCW after suffering some minor injuries from Starrcade due to Scott Hall’s actions. Goldberg is back and he’s coming for the WCW World Champion, Kevin Nash. Goldberg notes that he had to wait a few extra weeks, but he’s using his rematch clause to get his hands on Nash and he’s getting his hands on the champ at Superbrawl. However, Goldberg is making sure that nobody can get involved because the match will be contested inside a steel cage! Plus, tonight, he’s out for blood. Goldberg isn’t going to wait to get his revenge on Scott Hall, because he’s wrestling Hall tonight in the main event!

Match #1: Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Lizmark Jr. in 7:04 following a springboard hurricanrana. After the match, WCW Cruiserweight Champion Eddy Guerrero comes down to ringside with the LWO. Eddy gets in the ring and tells Rey since he’s the champion and Kidman is behind him, if Rey wants out of the LWO he can leave.. but only if Rey beats Juventud Guerrera on Thunder.

Match #2: Devon Storm defeated David Taylor in 5:35 following the Mindbender. After the match, Mean Gene interviews Devon Storm regarding Storm constantly helping Kidman. Storm says that wrestling is a numbers game and right now the LWO outnumbers Kidman and Mysterio. Storm is aware that it’s difficult to trust people in the world of professional wrestling, but he’s determined and knows that his assistance will be accepted and appreciated eventually. Storm is here to right the wrongs that have been happening in WCW.

Match #3: WCW Television Champion Konnan defeated Fit Finley in 7:57 to retain the title by submission with the Tequila Sunrise. During the match, Kanyon and Lenny Lane joined commentary. Kanyon expressed his displeasure that someone like Konnan is the champion of television. Kanyon knows that he’s a TV star and he should be the TV Champion. Kanyon fawns over the TV Championship. After Konnan wins the match, Lane gets in Konnan’s face with his camera allowing Kanyon to sneak into the ring and ends up hitting Konnan on the back of the head with the championship. Kanyon stands over Konnan to end the segment.

Match #4: Sting defeated Scott Norton in 6:13 following the Scorpion Death Drop.

Mean Gene is standing in the ring and introduces Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart for an interview. Hart enters the ring and Gene quickly talks about how Hart has a had a rough start to the year. Hart acknowledges that he thought 1999 was going to be his year, but the first few weeks have made him miserable. Bret isn’t going to come out here and complain admitting that he’s done enough of that. It’s time to self reflect and regain focus on his career. Bret puts over Booker T as a great athlete and there’s no shame in losing to a guy at that caliber. Bret thinks that he’s still the best, but credits Booker as being on the cusp of his greatness. Bret believes that this rough patch will be over soon and championships will come his way. Hart tells Gene that he still wants to be the WCW World Champion, and he will accomplish that goal one way or another. At this point, Raven enters the ring and Gene tells Bret. Bret turns around and asks “what do you want?” and at that moment Raven kicks Bret in the midsection and spikes Bret with a DDT. Raven grabs the microphone from Gene and simply says… “What about me? What about Raven?!” Officials come out and check on Bret while Gene audibly wonders what that was all about.

Match #5: WCW Tag Team Champions Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko defeated Juventud Guerrera & Psychosis to retain the titles in 9:46 when Malenko forced Psychosis to submit to the Texas Cloverleaf

Backstage, Scott Steiner & Buff Bagwell were watching the match on a TV. Steiner tells Bagwell that they got a rematch for the tag titles at Superbrawl and tells Bagwell to not screw it up. Bagwell tells Steiner they lost as a team, but Steiner tells Bagwell that only one of them gave up and sure as hell wasn’t him. Don’t screw it up, Buff.

Match #6: WCW United States Champion Booker T defeated Barry Windham to retain the title in 6:18 following a scissors kick.

Mean Gene interviews Diamond Dallas Page on the aisle right after the previous match. Gene puts over DDP for winning last night at Souled Out against Giant in a brutal Last Man Standing match. DDP talks about the big bad Giant and uses the cliche of the bigger they are the harder they fall. DDP doesn’t care who you are, he’s not going to be bullied. Booker T makes his way up the aisle and DDP gives Booker props for successfully defending the title. Page notes that he’s a former WCW United States Champion and thinks it’s about time he gets a rematch for the title he brought back to relevancy. Booker tells DDP that he’s more than welcome to come get some whenever he wants it. DDP and Booker shake hands and DDP asks “how about Superbrawl, champ?” To which Booker accepts.

Match #7: Wrath defeated Hugh Morrus in 4:49 following the Meltdown. After the match, Wrath screams into the camera that he’s an unstoppable force in WCW.

An ad for WCW Superbrawl IX is aired.

Match #8: Perry Saturn defeated Curt Hennig by disqualification in 2:55 when Hennig smashed Saturn in the face with a steel chair. After the match, Hennig taunts into the camera “what is he looking at?” and crosses his eyes to insult Saturn as officials check on Saturn.

Backstage, WCW World Champion Kevin Nash is hyping Scott Hall up to take out Goldberg tonight and thus not have to worry about Superbrawl IX cage match. Hall is handed a taser and Bischoff tells Hall to “finish the job” this time.

Main Event: Goldberg defeated Scott Hall in 8:29 following the Jackhammer. After the match, Goldberg invites Nash to get in the ring as Nash remains on the aisle. Hall tries to attack from behind, but Goldberg press slams Hall over the top to the floor right in front of Nash’s feet. Goldberg stands tall in the ring as Nash holds up the title and says it’s not going anywhere.
