World Wrestling Federation presents Wrestling Challenge
Date:
5/17/1992
From: Niagara Falls, NY

Matches:
1.) WWF Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart defeated Mike Fury
2.) Kamala defeated Bill Pierce
3.) Tatanka defeated Skull Von Krus
4.) The Mountie defeated Kerry Davis
5.) The Brooklyn Brawler defeated Mark Kay
6.) British Bulldog defeated Duane Gill
7.) The Beverly Brothers defeated The Bushwhackers

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Bret Hart shared pre-tape comments during his match regarding Shawn Michaels and Sherri. Bret knows that Michaels has a lot of talent, but it’s misguided. Bret thinks that Michaels is a spoiled brat.

2.) Special Report hosted by Lord Alfred Hayes is up next. Hayes talks about Sgt. Slaughter getting zapped by the Mountie on Superstars during Slaughter’s match with Ric Flair. We see footage of the attack by Mountie. The Mountie and Jimmy Hart cut a promo and Mountie warns Slaughter to never give him an order ever again. Now, we know who is in command.

3.) A vignette promoting Crush in a junkyard. Crush cracked a joke about having a short stack for lunch.

4.) Sgt. Slaughter shared a pre-tape comment during Mountie’s match and says it’s going to take more than a shock stick to take him out. Slaughter will never surrender to Mountie. After the match, Mountie teases to use the shock stick, but doesn’t do it.

5.) Mean Gene conducts an interview with the WWF World Champion Randy Savage on the podium. Gene says that Flair and Perfect have been teasing more things to cause issues between Savage and Elizabeth. Savage calls it lies and doesn’t believe any of it, at all. Savage insists it’s all lies. Savage calls Flair the worst liar there ever was, or the best liar there ever was. Savage says that Flair is degrading two of the most important things in the world to him which are Elizabeth and the WWF World Championship, in that order. Savage says that when Flair tells these lies he’s talking about his wife, and she means more to him than anything including the WWF World Championship. Savage tells Flair that life is temporary, as are titles. However, one thing remains in the same is that the WWF World Championship was his before it was ever Flair’s!

6.) It’s a rare TV win for Brooklyn Brawler, who won the match following a superplex. Thus, Brawler must be losing on TV soon.

7.) A video of Papa Shango putting a curse on Ultimate Warrior is shown.

8.) Repo Man shared pre-tape comments during Bulldog’s match. Repo says that Bulldog found his remedy for dogs, which is a choke chain. Repo says he’s going to inbound Bulldog.

9.) Blake and Butch kickoff the tag match with Blake attacking Butch from behind with several strikes. Butch knee strikes Blake and delivers a bulldog out of the corner. Butch strikes Blake followed by a clothesline for a two count. Luke sends Beau over the top to the floor and Blake is met with a double clothesline. Beau nails Butch with Genius’s scroll and Blake pins Butch for the win. After the match, Beau leaps off the top to axe handle Luke to the floor. They draw on Butch, but LOD run into the ring to make the save and chase the Beverly’s from the ring, Beau sneaks back in and nails Hawk with the scroll before leaving the ring again. (1/2*. I’m glad the Beverly’s won and managed to get some momentum against LOD to justify their house show matches.)

Final Thoughts:
A solid episode of Wrestling Challenge this week with a good focus on Flair/Savage and the heat for the Beverly’s getting some momentum on LOD for their feud.
