A video package promoting the issue between Rick Michaels and the Rock n Roll Express due to Morton destroying Michaels knee, but Michaels is healthy. The package also highlights Steve Martin recently suffering a piledriver by Eddie Golden and getting his head shaved by Jeff G. Bailey. Martin revealed that Abdullah The Butcher will be there on March 18th and Ruckus will fight Butcher.

NWA Announcer Andrew Thomas reveals that Bill Behrens has hired him as the new host of NWA Wildside.

In the ring, Tim Dix interviews Bill Behrens. Behrens says he has a problem with a few inbreds in the front row because they are holding NCW signs. Behrens notes that Wildside is on a new channel and didn’t authorize it. Behrens says that it’s not part of his deal with Steve Martin to do that. Behrens brings up to the publication that he mentioned was garbage had sold out last week, but nobody subscribed to it because it dips into their chewing tobacco. Behrens brings up Romeo Bliss and says he’s not wrestling this week. Behrens brings up Triple X as being here from the Mid Atlantic. TJ Gray will defend his NWA TV title during the taping. Behrens calls Rick Michaels an idiot for going to the WWF and losing to the Headbangers. Michaels went to England and made to look like a fool. Behrens reveals that Rock n Roll Express will not be there for April 1st as they will be traveling all over country. However, the New South will return to wrestle in their place. Rick Michaels makes his way out to join the segment. Michaels threatens to slap Tim Dix if he shuts his microphone off. Michaels calls Behrens a cheap piece of garbage for not getting a new suit. Michaels says they didn’t weasel their way back into the company. Michaels reveals that Wildside had to cover Behrens ass by going to the network because Prentice bailed out of the contract. Michaels tells Behrens to shove channel 34 sideways and shove it up his ass. Michaels notes that the Rock n Roll Express and New South aren’t here, but Michaels decks Behrens with a left hand. Ricky Morton comes out and chop blocks Michaels on the injured knee until security enters the ring to keep them apart. Michaels says two can play at this game in regard to Morton attacking him.

Opening Contest: Ricky Morton vs. Chris Hamrick: Morton works over Hamrick in the corner with strikes. Hamrick avoids Morton in the corner managing a rollup for a two count. Harmrick arm drags Morton and keeps arm control. Hamrick springboards off the ropes to arm drag Morton again. Hamrick atomic drops Morton and delivers a running clothesline. Hamrick slams Morton and misses a top rope moonsault. Hamrick misses a splash in the corner and Morton kicks Hamrick over the middle rope. Morton stomps on Hamrick’s knee to maintain the advantage. Morton kicks Hamrick’s knee and struts around the ring. Morton splashes down onto Hamrick’s knee. Morton keeps control on the mat and gets a chair from Behrens on the floor. Morton tries to use the chair, but Rick Michaels slides into the ring and attacks Morton. Michaels goes to the top rope, but Behrens shoves Michaels off. Morton jabs Michaels on the injured knee with the chair. Romeo Bliss slides into the ring with a chair to make the save. (*. Considering Morton continues to get a bunch of momentum on Michaels, I’d imagine that Michaels will eventually pickup the win over Morton at some point.)

Romeo Bliss grabs a microphone and cuts a promo about being in the company for a long time. Bliss says the title that means most to him is NCW. Bliss says that Michaels is the only guy who has the guts to standup to Behrens. Bliss notes that he’s teaming with Michaels. Bliss says he’s yet to have a match for Hardcore Hell. Bliss wouldn’t mind fighting Mike Rapada or Terry Taylor. Bliss brings up Jeff G. Bailey and how Bailey has turned his back on NCW. Bliss says the only difference between a mosquito and Bailey is a mosquito stops sucking when it gets slapped. Bliss wants a match for Hardcore Hell.

Backstage, Bill Behrens and Ricky Morton cut a promo. Behrens mentions that Morton is going overseas and isn’t coming back to Wildside. Morton wants Rick Michaels to understand one thing and says that Hamrick is a friend so just think what he’d do to someone he hates. Morton says that they can’t beat him with the other half helping them.

Second Contest: Triple X (Drake Dawson & Curtis Thompson) vs. Team Extreme: The match is joined in progress as Germany hit a DDT on Thompson. Dawson is working over Carson on the floor. Dawson is knocked out on the floor as Germany attempts a hurricanrana, but messes it up. Dawson hits a splash off the top, but Strawberry hits Carson with a chair. Dawson whacks Carson with a vicious chair shot to win the match. (NR. This was sloppy from what they showed and it was heavily condensed. Triple X are muscle guys with a good look, but they don’t appear to have much more than that.)

Bill Apter is in Allentown, PA with Afa, who runs wXw. Afa has some interesting notes about his nephew The Rock. Afa says that Rock would get in trouble in school. Afa says that Rock’s parents never wanted him to be a wrestler. Afa says Rock’s favorite food is chicken and he’d always keep himself in shape. This is more of an ad for the WOW Magazine. Apter thinks the storyline for Behrens managing the Rock n Roll Express stinks and doesn’t make sense because of a conflict of interest.

Andrew Thomas says that Steve Martin has attempted to get revenge by bringing in Abdullah The Butcher to wrestle Ruckus at the NCW Arena. They show footage of Butcher.

Backstage, Jeff G. Bailey says that Steve Martin couldn’t find someone in his own locker room to take out Ruckus and had to get Abdullah. Ruckus chimes in and says he’s the most dangerous man and doesn’t care who comes to fight him. Ruckus is in this for one thing and it’s money. Ruckus says he holds the title because it brings him money. Ruckus tells Bailey it’s going to cost him twice as much money for him to beat Butcher.

Main Event: NWA Wildside United States Champion Terry Knight vs. Jesse Taylor: Taylor gains wrist control, but Knight delivers a strike to break free. Taylor ducks a clothesline to deliver a few strikes and a clothesline. Taylor hip tosses Knight coming off the ropes. Taylor backdrops Knight coming off the ropes. Taylor goes to the floor and clotheslines Knight. Taylor rolls Knight into the ring and delivers an atomic drop. Knight arm drags Knight and keeps arm control on the mat. Taylor puts a chin lock on Knight in the middle of the ring. Taylor hits a Samoan Drop on Knight for a two count. Taylor sends Knight into the corner, but Knight drops Taylor over the top turnbuckle followed by a heel kick. Knight strikes Taylor in the corner and delivers a headbutt to the ribs. Knight sends Taylor ribs first into the corner. Knight knee lifts Taylor and sends Taylor ribs first into the championship in the corner as Candy distracts the referee in the corner. Knight puts his knee against Taylor’s back. Knight knee drops Taylor and continues with strikes against the ropes. Knight misses a strike and plants Taylor with a spinebuster. Knight fakes an elbow and heads to the top rope. Taylor catches Knight in midair and hits a belly to belly suplex, but Knight kicks out at two. Candy distracts the referee again. Knight grabs the championship, but Taylor ducks the title. Taylor hits Knight with the championship and the referee sees it to disqualify Taylor. (*1/2. A cheap finish, but the action wasn’t too bad.)

Steve Martin, who is bald, had a meeting with Abdullah the Butcher and Honest John where Martin has paid Butcher $5,000 to get revenge on his behalf. John is dealing with Ruckus for the last time. John promises that Ruckus is going to whip Ruckus’s butt. Butcher grabs the money and just stares at the camera.

Backstage, Al Getz and Scottie Wrenn cut a promo about Wrenn’s match at Hardcore Hell. Getz reminds us that Wrenn put Dazz through two flaming table the last time they wrestled in a sanctioned match. Getz says that last year Wrenn fought Rick Michaels at Hardcore Hell in a steel cage. Wrenn says the trend is going continue inside a steel cage at Hardcore Hell. Wrenn says he’s going to have to be killed to lose and Dazz better be prepared to die, too.

Final Thoughts:
If Morton isn’t returning to Wildside at any point then it’s kind of a waste for the angle between Morton and Michaels. The pivot to New South doesn’t have anywhere near the same heat that a match with the Express would have. It’s an average episode this week and they did a fine job to promote the match between Butcher and Ruckus next week.
