1.) Earlier in the day, Funaki talked to Nidia. Funaki and Nidia flirt a little bit until Jamie Noble entered the scene and asked if Funaki liked what he was looking at. Noble offers Funaki to touch Nidia’s ass. However, Noble stops Funaki and gets in his face threatening Funaki to not look at his woman like that ever again.

Noble traps Bucci in the ropes and delivers several stomps before hitting a middle rope leg drop for a two count. Noble plants Bucci with a neckbreaker for a near fall. Noble controls Bucci on the mat with a sleeper hold. Bucci breaks free with an atomic drop and a big boot to drop Noble to the mat. Bucci knee lifts Noble several times into the corner. Noble plants Bucci with a back suplex for a two count. Noble tries for a suplex, but Bucci counters with a rollup for a two count. Noble strikes Bucci over the back, but Bucci counters a neckbreaker with a backslide. Noble breaks free to hit the Slingblade (swinging neckbreaker) to win the match. (**. A decent match as Bucci got a bit of shine during the match. Bucci is better known as Nova from ECW. Commentary seemed to get amusement out of saying Bucci as much as they could. Bucci ended up getting a job and he’ll he working in OVW for a bit.)
3.) Palumbo backs Nunzio against the ropes and shoves Nunzio to the mat followed by a couple of strikes. Nunzio ducks a clothesline and dropkicks Palumbo on the knee several times. Nunzio manages to knock Palumbo to the mat and pummels Palumbo with strikes. Palumbo tosses Nunzio to the floor before returning to the ring. Palumbo decks Nunzio with a clothesline. Palumbo stomps Nunzio on the head and tosses Nunzio into the corner with a buckle bomb. Palumbo big boots Nunzio for a two count. Palumbo drives Nunzio into the corner followed by shoulder rams. Palumbo punches Nunzio in the corner several times. Palumbo tosses Nunzio with an overhead suplex. Palumbo continues with a scoop slam and delivers an elbow drop. Palumbo covers, but Nunzio kicks out at two. Nunzio avoids a punch with a kick, but leaps off the middle rope and is met with a discus punch for a two count. Nunzio kicks Palumbo from the middle rope with Nunzio hitting a tornado DDT for a two count. Palumbo sends Nunzio into the corner, but Nunzio counters and gets a rollup on Palumbo to win the match cleanly. (*1/2. They both looked sloppy throughout the match, but there was a couple of times where Palumbo came across dangerous. Palumbo has some decent offense, but he could probably use some more time in developmental. The finish was weird as it doesn’t make much sense for Nunzio to rollup Palumbo without any cheating antics.) After the match, Palumbo grabs Nunzio and it appears that Palumbo is showing respect towards Nunzio. Nunzio is a heel, so this is a little weird.
4.) Chavo avoids Dogg to start the match to show his quickness advantage. Chavo uppercuts Dogg a few times against the ropes. Chavo shoulder rams Dogg in the corner followed by another uppercut. Dogg elbows Chavo out of the corner, but Chavo drop toe holds Dogg into the ropes. Chavo hits a back suplex for a two count. Chavo shoulder blocks Dogg for a two count. Chavo strikes Dogg several times and sends Dogg into the corner. Chavo ducks a clothesline, but Dogg rams Chavo back first into the corner. Dogg plants Chavo with a powerslam for a two count. Dogg elbow drops Chavo on the back. Dogg controls Chavo with a bearhug. Chavo fights free with strikes, but Dogg kicks Chavo and delivers a few blows to the back. Dogg clotheslines Chavo in the corner. Chavo knee lifts Dogg and hits a middle rope dropkick. Chavo blocks strikes by Dogg and delivers another uppercut. Chavo dropkicks Dogg and runs the ropes to dropkick Dogg a second time for a two count. Chavo spikes Dogg with a DDT for a two count. Chavo kicks Dogg and knee lifts Dogg. Dogg backdrops Chavo and remains on top of Chavo with a bridge to win the match. After the match, Chavo attacks Dogg and puts an STF. John Cena slides into the ring to attack Chavo, but Eddie Guerrero comes out and makes the save. Chavo clotheslines Cena to the floor. Dogg is double teamed by the tag champs and the Guerrero’s play to the crowd to end the segment. (*. What a bizarre match. Chavo doing a clean job to Redd Dogg is kind of baffling. The match isn’t good and the finish felt flat.)
5.) Marie attacks Wilson during her entrance and rams Wilson face first onto the apron. Marie strikes Wilson over the back followed by stomps in the ring. Marie chokes Wilson over the bottom rope. Marie chokes Wilson over the middle rope to maintain the advantage. Marie scoop slams Wilson leading to a near fall. Wilson boots a charging Marie in the corner, but Marie clotheslines Wilson. Marie stands on Wilson’s hair and pulls her arms up. Wilson kicks Marie and hits a head scissors out of the corner. Wilson spears Marie and pummels Marie on the mat with strikes. Wilson tosses Marie across the ring. Marie begs off as Wilson is fired up. Wilson dropkicks Marie for a two count. Marie drops Wilson over the top rope throat first. Marie atomic drops Wilson and delivers a headbutt to the lower midsection for a two count. Marie sends Wilson into the corner and delivers a shoulder ram. Marie kicks Wilson in the corner several times. Wilson avoids Marie in the corner and gets a rollup for a two count. Wilson clotheslines Marie several times followed by a snap suplex for a two count. Wilson kicks Marie followed by a swinging neckbreaker for a near fall. Wilson chops Marie and tries for a slam, but Marie counters with a rollup for a two count. Wilson spikes Marie with a DDT for the win. (*1/2. I’m surprised that this would be on Velocity considering how much TV time they got on Smackdown. It’s actually not a bad match, though it’s predictably sloppy for most of it.)
Final Thoughts:
I can appreciate the attempts in getting new guys momentum (Dogg & Nunzio), but the action this week came across far too sloppy. Noble/Bucci was okay for what it was, though. I’ll consider it an average episode of Velocity at best.
Thanks for reading.
