  1. Bryan Clark defeated BG James & Brian Lawler in a handicap match when Clark pinned Lawler following a Flying Shoulderblock.
  2. Sting Trains for SuperBrawl II: This week’s broadcast featured a strong pre-match montage focused on Sting, building anticipation. for his upcoming championship match against Lex Luger. The video showed Sting training in the gym, stretching, hitting drills, and watching footage of past matches with and against Luger. Moments of reflection, taping wrists, tying boots, etc. were interspersed with flashes of intensity and focus.
  3. Barry Windham defeated Bill Irwin in a singles match when Windham pinned Irwin following a Superplex off the top rope.
  4. Medical Update on the Status of Dustin Rhodes: At the commentary booth, Jim Ross provided an official update on the condition of Dustin Rhodes, who has been out of action since his concussion suffered last month. Rhodes is making “steady progress” in recovery and has been undergoing further evaluations, though no firm return date was announced.
  5. Chris Benoit defeated Chris Kanyon in a singles match when Benoit pinned Kanyon following a Diving Headbutt.
  6. Steve Austin & Paul E. Dangerously Promo: Tensions were already high as “Stunning” Steve Austin stood backstage with his manager, Paul E. Dangerously, for a quick word with Missy Hyatt. This wasn’t a calm, collected statement… it was fire. Austin took aim directly at Chris Benoit, while Paul E. Dangerously chimed in with that signature venom, tearing into Benoit’s credibility, track record, and unproven ability on a large stage.
  7. “Stunning” Steve Austin defeated Perry Saturn in a singles match when Austin pinned Saturn following a Stun Gun.
  8. Big Van Vader on the Rise: In a backstage segment designed to spotlight momentum, Harley Race spoke with fire and precision about Big Van Vader, his client, protégé, or unstoppable force… depending on which quote you pulled. All signs point to the same description: pain… for everybody on the WCW roster.
  9. Big Van Vader defeated Z-Man in a singles match when Vader pinned Z-Man following a Power Bomb.

WCW SATURDAY NIGHT

Event Date: February 8th, 1992

Location: New York, United States

Attendance: 7,000 [SOLD OUT]

Total Viewers: 2,325,865

  1. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin) defeated BG James & Brian Lawler in a tag team match when Garvin pinned Lawler following an excessive pull of the tights, embarrassing the enhancement team.
  2. Steven Regal Open Challenge: Steven Regal headed down to the ring and talked himself up a bit in front of the crowd. As he went over some of his latest victories, he was sure that there had to be someone in the back worth a challenge. He invited anybody to come on down to the ring to test their skills (or lack thereof). Jushin “Thunder” Liger answered the call and the match was up next!
  3. Jushin “Thunder” Liger defeated Steven Regal in a singles match when Liger pinned Regal following a Shooting Star Press.
  4. Brass Knuckles: Moments after the bell, when both wrestlers were catching their breath from a hard-fought bout, Steven Regal discreetly reached into his tights and produced a set of brass knuckles. Regal feigned sportsmanship, offering a hand to Liger. When Liger stood up to accept it, Regal clocked him flush on the jaw with the loaded fist!
  5. Bryan Clark defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a singles match when Clark knocked Page out cold with a Big Boot. Page was unable to return to his feet during the referee’s ten-count.
  6. No Parking: The feud between Cactus Jack & Sabu and Art Barr & 2 Cold Scorpio took a dangerous turn as the two teams erupted into an all-out brawl in the parking lot area. Captured by a roaming camera crew, the segment began with shouting and shoving near a production truck before quickly escalating into an all-terrain fight. By the time officials intervened, the lot was littered with debris, and at least one vehicle had a shattered windshield.
  7. Rick & Scott Steiner defeated The York Foundation (Richard Morton & Tommy Rich) w/ Alexandra York in a tag team match when Rick pinned Rich following a Top Rope Bulldog.
  8. Sit-Down Interview Between Rude & Steamboat: In a pre-taped segment designed to keep both competitors away from chaos, at least temporarily, Eric Bischoff hosted a sit-down interview between bitter rivals “Ravishing” Rick Rude and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. The hostility between Rude and Steamboat made the air feel combustible from the first question. Insults were thinly veiled, tempers flared in tone alone, and by the end, both men were up out of their seats. Physicality was barely avoided, and security was reportedly about to step in off camera.
  9. “Ravishing” Rick Rude w/ Madusa & Paul E. Dangerously defeated Z-Man in a singles match for the WCW United States Championship when Rude pinned Z-Man following a Rude Awakening. Rick Rude was able to successfully retain the WCW United States Championship.
  10. A Rude Celebration: “Ravishing” Rick Rude managed Z-Man’s challenge without much trouble and as the referee handed the belt back to him, Rude raised it hight to a strong reaction from the crowd. Rude seemingly hasn’t lost a step heading into his match with Steamboat at SuperBrawl II.
  11. “The Total Package” Shares His Thoughts: Missy Hyatt caught up with Lex Luger to discuss the ongoing situation with Sting. Luger and Harley Race made it clear that Sting has bitten off more than he could chew with this challenge. Some training and a few drills won’t do much to prepare him for WCW’s “Total Package”. Lex said he was going to stop Sting’s momentum dead and it wasn’t going to be personal… it is just business.
  12. Lex Luger defeated Barry Windham in a singles match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship when Luger forced Windham to submit with the Torture Rack. Lex Luger was able to successfully retain the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.
