Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Vince McMahon, Jim Duggan, Hillbilly Jim, Bobby Heenan and Mr. Perfect are on the panel and they are bickering about what happened between WWF World Champion Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior and Ric Flair on Superstars. They were arguing before the program started. Perfect says they belong to be at SummerSlam. Duggan and Jim think Perfect and Flair are jealous and trying to ruin the title match. Perfect calls Savage the Macho Chicken because he believes Savage is a chicken. Perfect says they want Warrior and Savage to destroy each other so it’s easier for Flair to regain the title when their time comes.

2.) Tatanka controls Sharpe with a headlock, but is sent into the ropes and avoids a right hand by stopping. Tatanka ducks a strike and chops Sharpe to the mat. Tatanka arm drags Sharpe causing Sharpe to bail to the floor. Tatanka slingshots Sharpe into the ring and Sharpe begs off. Tatanka atomic drops Sharpe to the mat and delivers an elbow drop to the knee of Sharpe. Tatanka drags Sharpe to the corner from the floor and wraps Sharpe’s knee around the ring post. Tatanka puts a leg lock on Sharpe, but Sharpe eye rakes Tatanka. Sharpe gains control by rubbing Tatanka’s eyes over the top rope and chokes Tatanka over the top rope. Sharpe taunts the crowd while Tatanka struggles to gain his breath. Sharpe strikes Tatanka coming off the ropes and misses an elbow drop. Tatanka nails Sharpe with an overhand chop and goes on the War Dance. Tatanka slams Sharpe and heads to the top rope to hit an overhand chop. Tatanka finishes Sharpe off with a Samoan Drop for the win. (*. Tatanka is solid enough to make an extended squash match enjoyable.)

3.) The panel talks about what’s going to be seen on the show this week. McMahon talks about the tug of war between WBF and WWF.

4.) The panel discuss Big Bossman making his return this weekend. McMahon notes that Bossman will be joining the show later on tonight. Heenan makes a joke about being Bossman being propped or nailed up.

5.) Bobby Heenan argues with Sean Mooney regarding the WWF Tag Title match at SummerSlam and wants Mooney to pick a winner, but Mooney deflects before relenting and believing that the Natural Disasters will retain the titles.

6.) Papa Shango easily won his enhancement match with a shoulder breaker.

7.) Big Bossman joins the show via satellite and says he’s back in the WWF. Heenan thinks Bossman is ready to receive another beating by Nailz. Perfect thinks that Bossman should have “Big” removed from his name. Bossman calls Perfect an idiot and he can’t hear idiots very well. Bossman questioned if it was all worth it right after the beating. Bossman says it is damn worth it, and apologizes for his words. Heenan jokes that Bossman is hurt so bad every time he talks he has to hold his ear. McMahon asks if Bossman is ready emotionally. Bossman says he hears people doubting him. Bossman promises that he’s back and he made a vow for law, order and justice. Bossman warns Nailz that he’s going to hurt him.

8.) Martel controls Slaughter with a headlock to gain control of the match. Slaughter counters with a head scissors on the mat. Martel tries to break free, but Slaughter keeps the head scissors locked in. Martel cartwheels off the ropes and does jumping jacks to taunt Slaughter. Slaughter puts a hammerlock on Martel, but Martel counters and tries for a rollup, but Slaughter holds onto the ropes. Slaughter decks Martel with clotheslines and rams Martel head into the corner several times. Martel staggers around the ring and Slaughter strikes Martel several times in the corner. Martel misses a spear and hits the post shoulder first. Slaughter wrenches on Martel’s arm and delivers an elbow strike to Martel’s left shoulder. Martel punches free from Slaughter and shakes his arm. Martel drops Slaughter with another strike to the mat. Martel tells the crowd to shut up and slams Slaughter before missing an elbow drop. Slaughter controls the match with a knee drop to the left arm. Slaughter wrenches Martel’s arm over the top rope. Slaughter continues to wrench the left am under the top rope. Slaughter strikes Martel and wraps Martel’s arm over the bottom rope. Martel sends Slaughter over the top to the floor where Slaughter appears to have hit the ring post. Martel stomps on Slaughter on the floor. Martel rams Slaughter’s back against the apron before returning to the ring. Martel stomps Slaughter a few times on the mat to keep the advantage. Martel clubs Slaughter over the back several times, but Slaughter kicks Martel. Slaughter fights back with several right hands in the middle of the ring. Slaughter atomic drops Martel and comes off the ropes to deliver another clothesline. Martel begs off against the ropes, but Slaughter strikes Martel. Slaughter hip tosses Martel coming off the ropes. Slaughter ducks a clothesline and nails Martel with a clothesline. Slaughter goes for the cobra clutch and Martel fades for a moment. Martel is fading, but prevents his arm from dropping three times by reaching the ropes. Martel grabs Arrogance in the corner and decks Slaughter with it. Martel covers and pins Slaughter for the win. (**. A decent TV match and a needed win for Martel since he hasn’t had all that much momentum in recent months. Considering Martel is featured on SummerSlam, this is a no-brainer.)

9.) Footage from the WBF vs. WWF tug of war is shown. WBF won the first tug of war, but then it was called off because one of the WBF guys sat down, which is illegal. Jameson enters the scene and brought sandwiches for the panel. Jim Duggan is coaching the WBF guys against the WWF wrestlers, which makes little sense to me. Anyway, the WWF wrestlers win the tug of war competition. They argue, but the WWF guys celebrate the win.

10.) The panel discuss the match between WWF Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart and British Bulldog at SummerSlam. Heenan asks who cares about how the family feels regarding whomever wins the match.

Final Thoughts:
It’s interesting that Bossman is back and isn’t going to get his hands on Nailz at SummerSlam. That shows you how different the business model is compared to 2024. For the most part, there wasn’t much going on here and it’s a skippable episode of PrimeTime Wrestling.
