Kidman dropkicks DeMott several times, but fails on a bulldog. DeMott powerslams Kidman for a two count. DeMott keeps the advantage with a bearhug. DeMott drives Kidman into the corner, but Kidman fights back with a few right hands. Kidman boots DeMott and hits a middle rope missile dropkick. DeMott stops Kidman with a clothesline and chokes Kidman on the mat. DeMott powerbombs Kidman to win the match. (*1/2. Is this the first time that Kidman has been pinned after a powerbomb? Kidman almost always counters the powerbomb. The crowd didn’t seem too involved in the bout, but it was fine for what it was. Kidman jobbing to DeMott on Velocity after being the Cruiserweight champion was a bit of a surprise. I doubt DeMott is going to get a push of any substance.)
2.) Stamboli attacks before the bell, but Chavo punches back and Stamboli bails to the floor to regroup. Chavo drop toe holds Stamboli and delivers a side suplex. Chavo boot scrapes Stamboli in the corner a few times. Chavo chokes Stamboli over the middle rope. Chavo rams Stamboli into the corner face first and delivers a dropkick. Stamboli tried to use the ropes for leverage, but failed. Stamboli boots a charging Chavo in the corner and tried to cheat again on a cover, but the referee saw him quickly. Stamboli snapmares Chavo and keeps control with a sleeper. Stamboli stops Chavo with a knee lift for another near fall. Stamboli sends Chavo chest first into the corner for a two count. Stamboli goes back to a sleeper. Chavo uppercuts Stamboli followed by a back suplex. Chavo drops Stamboli over the middle rope and delivers a knee strike on a slingshot. Chavo uppercuts Stamboli followed by a backdrop and a clothesline. Chavo dropkicks a kneeling Stamboli for a two count. Chavo uppercuts Stamboli, but Stamboli connects with a tilt a whirl backbreaker for a two count. Stamboli knee lifts Chavo, but Chavo counters with a rollup and a handful of tights to win the match. After the match, Stamboli decks Chavo and hits a press slam turned into a powerslam. (**. Stamboli seemed to rely on a sleeper quite a bit and it seemed to halt the pace of the match. I feel Stamboli winning here would have been beneficial to give the FBI some level of momentum. Stamboli probably has the most potential out of anyone in FBI.)
3.) Mysterio gets a waist lock, but Moore elbows free and strikes Mysterio. Mysterio avoids elbows and gets a two count on a bridging cover attempt. Mysterio elbows Moore in the corner. Moore has Mysterio on his shoulders, but settles for a strike to the midsection. Mysterio dumps Moore to the floor with a hurricanrana over the top to the floor. Mysterio gets to his feet and kicks Moore followed by strikes. Moore knee lifts Mysterio, but Mysterio delivers a spinning heel kick. Mysterio sends Moore into the corner and hits a springboard splash from the apron. Mysterio plants Moore with a wheelbarrow bulldog for a two count. Moore shoves Mysterio away in the corner and hits a middle rope somersault neckbreaker named The Halo for a near fall. Moore signals for the 619, but Mysterio head scissors Moore over the middle rope and hits the 619. Mysterio finishes Moore off with the West Coast Pop to win the match. (**. A decent main event that saw Moore get a bit more offense in than I was expecting. Mysterio competing on Velocity was a treat.)
Final Thoughts:
An average episode this week for Velocity. It’s fun to see Mysterio on Velocity and DeMott picking up an upset win over Kidman was noteworthy. There wasn’t much in the form of in-ring, but it was a still a decent episode.
Thanks for reading.
