JCW Lunacy Episode 1
Uploaded: August 28th, 2024; Columbus, OH
The episode starts off with a white limo showing up and it is JCW World Heavyweight Champion Willie Mack greeting a bunch of juggalos outside the venue waiting to enter.
The commissioner of JCW, Violent J, is introduced to the ring to kickoff the show in front of the live audience. Violent J welcomes everyone to the new era of JCW. Violent J considers this the era of lunacy. J says they are the guys who are ignored by Dave Meltzer and the wrestling media. J talks about ECW taking credit for attendance in Milwaukee when they did it two weeks prior. J says the lack of attention is over and declares this is the era of lunacy.
Joe Galli (straight laced juggalo) and Manny Fresh (wicked analyst) are the commentary duo.
Backstage the Southern Six are interviewed by Joe Galli. Galli introduces the trio to the audience and asks what they are up to in JCW. They are here to party according to Kerry Morton. They are here to win the gold and take all the money. Morton suggests Violent J doesn’t have enough money for them. They are going to make dog meat out of the juggalos.
MATCH #1: DANI MO VS. ALICE CROWLEY
FINISH: Dani Mo picks up the win following a top rope crossbody.
Bob’s Take: Dani Mo is an entertaining worker and is someone I’ve seen compete only maybe a handful of times, if that. Crowley isn’t someone I’ve overly familiar with, but she reminds me of a female version of Corporal Robinson just from the attire standpoint. I thought this was a solid match with Dani showcasing some aerial offense and Crowley being more of a brawler focus. I dig Mo, and wouldn’t mind her being a focus in JCW.
Match Rating: **
MATCH #2: JCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE BROTHERS OF FUNSTRUCTION (ROFFO THE CLOWN & YABO THE CLOWN) VS. CALEB KONLEY & FACADE
NOTE: The clowns have been the tag champions for two years according to the commentary team.
FINISH: Konley is pinned after a top rope double stomp/side slam combo.
Bob’s Take: To give an idea of the sort of vibe JCW gives the clowns have a rubber duck (cock) to get a pop from the crowd and of course that leads to various crude jokes by the commentary. There is a significant amount of stalling before there’s any actual offense in this match. Facade seems to be more inclined to party with the clowns than Konley is. It was not a surprise to see Konley turn on Facade. It was hardly a match, though. It kind of felt like a way to focus on Konley as a heel, and there could be a feud brewing between Konley and Facade. It’s simple booking if they go that route.
Match Rating: 1/2*
Shaggy 2 Dope provides a Shaggy Spotlight. Shaggy’s spotlight is on the Southern Six, who he calls them rednecks. The package just showed the three men several times in action.
Backstage, Joe Galli chats with the JCW Tag Team Champions the Brothers Of Funstruction. They claim to be the faces of JCW. Yabo says they are always down for a fight and they laugh a bunch with Galli saying they are not clowning around.
The Southern Six cut a pre-match promo with Silas Mason calling the ring announcer a drug addict who messed up their introduction. Mason says if you bet against the Southern Six, then you made a bad bet. Mason proceeds to introduce the group to some good heel heat.
MAIN EVENT: JCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION WILLIE MACK, MATT CROSS & SANTANA JACKSON VS. THE SOUTHERN SIX (ALEX TAYLOR, KERRY MORTON & SILAS MASON)
FINISH: Mason pins Jackson following the Thrill Ride (swinging side slam).
Bob’s Take: It is very clear to me that the Southern Six are going to be a fixture in the early days of JCW at the very least. The action here wasn’t all that noteworthy for the most part. The closing moments of the match were enjoyable. It didn’t feel like the faces got much of a shine, but again, I think the point here was to make the Southern Six a clear viable heel stable that could dominate TV for a bit. After all, Willie is the champion and having at least three heels to deal with will help his reign.
Match Rating: *1/2
James Storm makes his way out before the shows comes to an end and the fans are shocked to see him. Storm notes it has been a while since he has been able to hangout with the family. Storm says everyone is having a damn good time. Storm got a phone call at 8:30am and says he was told that Kerry Morton is a problem and Storm says he laughed at it. Storm insults them by suggesting they suck dick. Storm came there to whoop ass and he’s going to do that. Storm goes to the ring and Storm punches Morton, but Morton is pulled to the floor to avoid the Last Call superkick. Storm knows that Ricky Morton has had a lot of pussy, but didn’t realize that his son was a pussy. Morton throws a temper tantrum. Storm finishes off with his catchphrase to end the program.
Final Thoughts:
Wrestling wise it may not look like this was a good show, but I actually felt like this was a productive first episode. They have established the Southern Six as a viable heel group and I like their styles as heels. James Storm appearing at the end gives a credible name as a surprise and I’m far more interested in Storm battling the Southern Six than I would have thought I’d be. JCW is a unique promotion as they will curse as much as they want and be a lot of the Attitude Era of WWF, but imagine that without censors and really the ability to do whatever you want. A good start for JCW Lunacy on YouTube.
