Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) The Natural Disasters shared pre-tape comments during their match. Typhoon says they don’t care who the number one contenders are for the title. Earthquake wants any team to be prepared to fight them, because they will be prepared too.
2.) Nailz attacked Tony DeVito before the bell even sounded and tossed DeVito over the top to the floor. Nailz grabs a microphone and cuts a promo on Big Bossman. Nailz says he came out there for one reason and that was to fight Big Bossman. Nailz says if Bossman has any guts he’d come out there right now. Nailz knee lifts DeVito off the apron and continues to call out Bossman. Nailz declares that the system can no longer protect Bossman. Nailz knee lifts DeVito off the apron again. Gorilla Monsoon notes that Bossman isn’t there this week. Nailz continues to yell for Bossman to fight him, but Bossman never comes out.
3.) A video promoting Bob Backlund is shown. Backlund recalls winning the title in 1978 and how it changed his whole life. Backlund is sitting at home as the video highlights his history in the WWF. Backlund is determined to become the WWF World Champion once again.
4.) This is Comet Kid’s debut in the WWF and is being played by Paul Diamond. Kid’s finishing move is a rolling fireman’s carry slam.
5.) Harvey Wippleman cuts a promo during Undertaker’s match with Kamala by his side. Wippleman says that Kamala isn’t afraid of anyone and insists they aren’t afraid of the Undertaker. Wippleman can see the fear in Undertaker’s eyes. Kimchee was there, too.
6.) Backstage, Razor Ramon cuts a promo on Randy Savage saying that Savage is like the monkeys in Miami. Savage a little problem and goes crying to Ultimate Warrior for some knee pads and elbow pads. Ramon isn’t scared of that. Ramon says that Savage can’t hide behind the Ultimate Maniacs because Savage knows that sooner or later he’s going to have to fight Razor Ramon man to man.
7.) Shawn Michaels and Sherri cut pre-tape comments during Michaels match. Michaels says everyone knows that he loves good looking women, but he’s making an exception by chasing the British Bulldog. Michaels promises he’s going to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
Final Thoughts:
Could you imagine if the WWF reverted back to using Backlund as the WWF World Champion? That would be a disaster in every sense of business. I’m surprised that Backlund would even be a potential regular worker for the WWF in a world full of characters. This week Wrestling Challenge didn’t have a major development and seemed to be more of a show promoting matches on the house show circuits.
