Jeff G. Bailey are talking in a BMW. Steve Martin tells Bailey he’s happy with to be part of the NWA Elite. Martin saw the light and notes they don’t have the Wildside Heavyweight Championship. They are going to recruit Stone Mountain and Bailey thinks that Mountain owes Martin to align with the NWA Elite. Martin has an exciting announcement regarding the Wildside Light Heavyweight Championship held by Onyx. They arrive to the arena.
Tim Dix introduces Bill Behrens to the ring to cut a promo. Behrens didn’t have a proper opportunity to introduce a smart promoter that has given a lot to the business. Behrens introduces the new COO, Steve Martin. Behrens leaves the ring to go on his vacation. Martin says it is an honor for the fans to see Martin. Martin talks about the format and how NWA loves boring formats. Martin brings in his right hand man named Rodeo. Martin wants security tighten up or he’ll fire Romeo. Jeff G. Bailey, Onyx, Terry Knight, Eddie Golden and AJ Styles come down to the ring to join the segment. Bailey brags about Rick Michaels thinking he was in power, but instead got his ass kicked. Bailey thinks Michaels should have read the papers and it is simply that Michaels is obligated to pay the rent for the building. Martin reveals Onyx is defending the title at Freedom Fight against Ed Swimmer. Martin calls out the Wildside Heavyweight Champion Stone Mountain to join the segment. Mountain comes out and joins the segment. Martin tells Mountain that he gave him a break in wrestling and wants Mountain to join NWA Elite and become the biggest champion. Mountain flips off Martin and refuses the offer. Martin slaps Mountain and says he’s going to listen to him. Mountain grabs Martin, but the NWA Elite attacks Mountain. Mountain catches Styles hitting a powerslam. Scottie Wrenn enters and whacks Mountain with chair shots. Wrenn pummels Mountain over the back several times and knocks Mountain to the floor. Wrenn handcuffs Mountain to the bottom rope. Styles hits Mountain with a chair shot. Wrenn smashes Mountain over the head with a chair shot. A decent match and I continue to enjoy Taylor in this role. Taylor could be a viable opponent for the NWA Elite at some point.)
Onyx attacks Lazz with the Wildside Light Heavyweight Championship. John Phoenix had the referee distracted.
Second Contest: Lazz vs. John Phoenix: Phoenix hits a top rope splash and pins Lazz. (NR. Lazz continues to get a strong reaction and the fans love his entrance where he’s giving lap dances. Onyx attacking Lazz should mean that Lazz will be chasing Onyx for the Light Heavyweight Championship. I don’t think they are actively trying to damage his popularity.)
WOW Magazine hosted by Bill Apter is up next. Apter recalls being thrown off television by Behrens for his remarks. Apter talks about being in a restaurant in Philadelphia when Ron Starr approached him about working for the NWA, but Behrens never answered his calls. Apter asks if Behrens is too big to give Starr a break in wrestling. Ron Starr cuts a promo saying Behrens should know his name. Starr has been working on the indies for five years, but a job with NWA has eluded him. Starr has tried his hardest to get ahold of Behrens, but has been ignored. Starr feels that Behrens hasn’t shown him respect. Starr wants Behrens to give him his shot because he’ll be a threat to Wildside and wants Behrens to call him. Starr threatens to come down to Wildside and find Behrens if he doesn’t get a call.
Shank comes down to the ring to cut a promo. Shank insults Timber and says his hand has been healed since Timber’s attack. Shank calls Timber a coward for attacking him from behind. Shank talks about a cell block match where a steel cage is brought to the parking lot and they fight outside. Shank says the match will take place at Freedom Fight on July 1st. Shank says Timber can bend over and take it like a man.
Backstage, Rock ’n’ Roll Express cut a promo. Morton brags about being the NWA Tag Team Champions and they stand for the NWA. Morton says Bad Attitude can’t be compared to the Express. Morton says Bad Attitude will find out they are back in town.

Young stops Gibson with a DDT and both men are down. Michaels is ready on the apron waiting for the tag. Michaels gets the hot tag and cleans house with strikes and a dropkick. Young comes off the top to moonsault Morton and picks up the three count!
Steve Martin comes out and grabs the microphone. Martin tells Bad Attitude that he hates to ruin the celebration and reveals the match is a best two out of three falls match. Morton low blows Young as Gibson tosses Young to the floor. Michaels is nailed by a double dropkick and is pinned to tie the match at one fall as the show goes to commercial.
Morton drives Michaels injured knee onto the mat to maintain the advantage. Gibson enters and assists Morton with working over Michaels. Young sends Gibson to the floor and plants Morton with a spinebuster. The referee is distracted by Martin. Gibson kicks Young. Martin throws a chain into the ring, but Young decks Morton with the chain and pins Morton to win the match. Gibson was right next to the pin and didn’t break the cover. After the match, NWA Elite slide into the ring and attack Bad Attitude. Robert Gibson decks Jeff G. Bailey. Morton also helps fight off the NWA Elite as the show goes off the air. (**. I’m a bit surprised by the Express turning face and aligning with NCW against the NWA Elite, but I like it. I think fans tend to want to cheer Morton and Gibson and if they come in for sporadic appearances it’s probably more beneficial to be a face attraction. The action wasn’t overly exciting or anything, but they are progressing the issues between the Elite and NCW fairly well.)
Final Thoughts:
A decent episode this week with the storylines advancing well. The focus on NWA vs. NCW has been going well. I’m enjoying the angle and they seem to have a major angle to focus their TV around, which had been lacking previously. Freedom Fight is shaping up to have a decent card on paper and there’s one more TV program before the big event.
Thanks for reading.
