Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Teddy Long cuts a promo before Mack’s match. Long got the 411 on his man, Rodney Mack. Mack is all about thuggin’ and buggin’. Long says Mack has no blue eyes or blonde hair. Long notes that Mack doesn’t have white skin and thinks that is why the man is holding Mack down. Long says Spike Dudley is just a nice white boy and thinks that he got a job because of his brothers. Long promises this isn’t going to be a family affair.
2.) Mack shoves Spike away a few times to start the match. Spike arm drags Mack and hits a tilt a whirl head scissors. Spike continues with a hurricanrana to send Mack to the corner and stomps Mack. Mack shoulder blocks Spike through the ropes to the floor. Mack rolls Spike into the ring and delivers a few strikes on the mat. Mack eye rakes Spike. Mack pummels Spike and chokes Spike over the middle rope. Mack scoop slams Spike for a two count. Spike rolls up Mack for a two count. Mack tosses Spike into a corner, but Spike battles back with right hands. Spike headbutts Mack in the midsection and tries for a rollup. Mack counters and sits Spike on the top turnbuckle. Mack clubs Spike over the back, but Spike bites Mack and off to the mat. Spike double stomps Mack and is fired up. Spike gets distracted by Long, but tries for the Dudley Dog only for Mack to counter with a powerslam for the win. (**. Spike had some good fire, which carried most of the match. Mack and Long are a much better pairing than Long and D’Lo. I can get behind a slow push for Mack.)
3.) Christian controls Dreamer for a moment, but Dreamer takes Christian to the mat and keeps arm control. Dreamer shoulder blocks Christian and they have a standoff. Dreamer slams the back of Christian’s head onto the mat a few times. Dreamer hip tosses Christian followed by a scoop slam. Dreamer clotheslines Christian over the top to the floor. Christian shoulder rams Dreamer and slingshots Dreamer back first over the top rope. Christian stomps Dreamer on the mat. Christian steps on Dreamer and taunts the crowd. Christian drops Dreamer with a neckbreaker for a near fall. Christian stomps Dreamer on the mat and presses his knee into Dreamer’s neck. Christian strikes Dreamer over the middle rope and chokes Dreamer over the ropes. Christian misses a splash and slings off the ropes chest first. They trade right hands until Christian gets the advantage. Dreamer decks Christian with clotheslines and a backdrop. Dreamer powerslams Christian for a two count. Dreamer sends Christian into the corner, but Christian moves only to be met with a spinebuster for a near fall. Dreamer leaps off the middle rope missing an elbow drop. Christian tries for the Un-Prettier, but settles for a reverse DDT for a near fall. Christian grabs Dreamer’s kendo stick, but misses a strike. Dreamer plants Christian with a DDT for a two count as Christian got to the ropes. Dreamer waits for Christian, but Christian gets out of the Death Valley Driver and hits the Un-Prettier for the win. (**. A decent match, and a good back and forth between these two. I was a bit surprised to see Christian on Heat, but they had a fun match.)
4.) Stratus arm drags Ivory followed by a snapmare. Ivory leg sweeps Stratus for a two count. They slap hands to show respect for each other. Stratus backs Ivory against the ropes, but they have a standoff. Stratus shoulder blocks Ivory followed by an arm drag and dropkick. Stratus misses a dropkick as Ivory held onto the ropes. Ivory gets a two count with a bridging cover. Ivory scoop slams Stratus followed by a backbreaker. Ivory covers for a two count. Ivory gut wrench suplexs Stratus for a two count. Stratus head scissors Ivory out of the corner and hits a victory roll for a two count. Ivory ducks a kick and strikes Stratus a few times. Ivory elbows Stratus in the corner and delivers a bulldog for a near fall. Ivory chops Stratus, but is met with a kick. Stratus hits a springboard bulldog to win the match. (*. Not much to this one, but it wasn’t offensive.) After the match, Victoria comes out and nails Stratus with a savant kick. Ivory kicks Victoria and delivers a few strikes against the ropes. Stratus recovers to chop Victoria. Stratus kicks Victoria through the ropes to the floor. Stratus and Ivory hug to end the show.
Final Thoughts:
An average episode for Heat with there being a focus on feature matches and not having one single enhancement match. Christian vs. Dreamer was the best of the three matches this week.
